When Izanami died in childbirth, Izanagi tried (but failed) to retrieve her from Yomi (the underworld). In the cleansing rite after his return, he begot Amaterasu (the sun goddess) from his left eye, Tsukuyomi (the moon god) from his right eye and Susanoo (tempest or storm god) from his nose.

So that means Uchiha still has 1 more skill up their sleeves called Tsukuyomi? :D Where you have to activate Yomi first, probably total darkness, which is already the case in this cave. I predict this coming skill will fail and the brothers will use the proshutznitskill that they suddenly come up with, the light within darkness (moon).

Tsukuyomi was used ages ago when Itachi "invaded" the Leaf and fought Gai and Kakshi when Akatsuki was first being introduced. In fact, I think later Kakashi even used it himself, at great cost. I considered it just the "upgraded" genjutsu; you trap a person in a fantasy world where times is dilated so that you feel like you've endured torture for much longer than the time the genjutsu traps you. EDIT: Was the guy originally trolling? O_o I thought he was serious. Oh well. EDIT2: http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Tsukuyomi for reference.

Oh nvm, I just found out that that skill already exists in the Naruto world, I just missed it, it's indeed a genjutsu tho. Itachi also used it against Sasuke to show him what happened in the night the Uchiha were killed. Further uses: Sasuke vs Danzo, Sasuke vs Bee, Itachi vs Sasuke (pretending to take out Sasuke's eyes). Haha I'm ashamed but I hardly ever remember skill names! Aha so it has alot of different usages.

Come to think of it, I like all the funny characters... funny tobi, deidara, lee, guy & kakashi, naruto & jiraiya;... While the uchiha storyline sometimes doesnt make sence, on the other hand, someone does not simply kill their family without a reason, so Itachi killing his family to save his brother and the village isnt a TOTAL asspull after all... The thing is, I am still convinced the story was once laid out with Itachi as a villain in part 1. I still cant get over this. So we have.... Story A, Itachi the villain: Why kill his family? Because they got wind of him practicing forbidden techniques. You also you have to kill those close to you to obtain Sharingan powers. Why leave brother alive? To kill him later and take his eyes. Because Sharingan use blinds you and you need replacement eyes. Why go on a year long killing spree, terrorize the world, go into villain organization, corrupt Sasuke, deliver 4-tails to Madara, almost kill Naruto and deliver 9-tails to Madara? Well, because he is a villain and that's what villains do. Story B, Itachi the good guy: Why kill his family? For peace. Because you know rumors say maybe animosities might break out between his family and his city so he better kills off his whole family right away. Good guy! Why leave brother alive? Because he loved him too much. Apparantly he didn't love his dozens other family members, including his father and mother, enough to not kill them. But he's a good guy. Why go on a year long killing spree, terrorize the world, go into villain organization, corrupt Sasuke, deliver 4-tails to Madara, almost kill Naruto and deliver 9-tails to Madara? Duh! Obviously to make Sasuke angry so he gets strong! Just helping Konoha out, like with his family homicide. Good guy! Imo story A that was told or implied in Naruto 1 is a story of a total asshole who kills and does other evil things for power. A pretty good high level villain if you ask me. Story B on the other hand, the actual story of Sasuke Shippuuden, is the biggest pile of shit I have ever read or heard of.

Story B on the other hand, the actual story of Sasuke Shippuuden, is the biggest pile of shit I have ever read or heard of. You might be right that story A was what was first intended to be, as it ended quite nicely with itachi trying to steal sasukes eyes. However, the ending of naruto, or so we are made to believe from what the author has said in interviews, is already made, and Kishimoto saw a good opportunity to steer things in the direction of the ending he has planned. He had to keep sasuke busy after he killed his brother. For all we know, Kishimoto wanted ending A to happen all along, but he simply had to steer the story and sasuke to get the ending he wanted. Now for the possibility that Kishimoto had ending B mapped out all along : Kishimoto pays a lot of attention to 'friendship' and 'family' in his work, which is why I am not very quick to believe that he was going to let it end with story A. He isn't simply going to let itachi kill his family, without putting good reasons behind it. All speculation ofcourse... In the end, I do not know if ending A truly made 'more sence' than ending B. It isn't very realistic (realism in naruto, I am going there) for someone to simply kill off their family 'just because they are evil'. Even villains believe in something, and they believe that what they do is right. Anyways, I liked the cool and collected evil itachi, that goes nuts at the end when trying to steal the eyes of sasuke, because it was an unique character, even if it didnt make a lot of sence

Izanagi did not require Senju DNA. Danzou required it to store sharingan in his arm. Probably had other uses also, but not for izanagi directly. Real Uchiha would not need Senju DNA to use the ability.
