It was built up from everywhere that he recived them (or took them in tobi's story) when Izuna was alive. And I recall having read just a few weaks ago that Izuna died in battle AFTER he lost his eyes.

Shame we'll never see an Itachi/madra interaction, Madara could see a true uchiha boss.

I don't know how manga storylines work but the writer either didn't plan for it beforehand or changed it at last minute. Not really a plothole, everything Obito/tobi said is a lie.

this flashback had so much potential and you take the silliest possible route omg On March 19 2013 20:02 Iplaythings wrote: Why the hell would he rush it, the flash back was sooo good but now we just see madara as some kind "hurr durr I let my brother be an idiot". While slightly disappointing, we already know character development was going to be lacking in this flashback since we started out early in Hashi/Madara's childhoods. If they went slowly it would have taken 3 months at least to go through everything. Sure, some people might prefer that, but this is Naruto, not Hashidara.

There isn't necessarily a plot hole here. Also, I'm sure people will just cry "omg we already know this" if Hashirama tells the exact story that Obito did. If you can't trust anything that comes out of people's mouth just because they don't have full knowledge or are supposed to be evil and is then never called out or explicitly corrected, then the the story's just incoherent. Imagine if you have to ignore everything that comes out of every antagonist's mouth. It's a stupid idea to make the narrative so discordant with no premise for it.

Orochimaru is helping Sasuke destroy the village how is he a good guy? Orochimaru is the only true villain in Naruto hopefully that will never change

Agreed with that. And oh my do I miss real villains in this manga... Itachi was such a good villain when he was the power hungry mean big brother (and even more realistic). Itachi, Oro (?), Pain, Madara, their characters all were destroyed by this "is aculy a good guy" thing.

On their way to the village Sasuke asked Orochimaru his real motive behind crushing Konoha, implying that he had suspicions about Orochimaru's past. So yes, inc Orochimaru tragic backstory sometime in the future.
