I didn't see a thread for this, so i'll be the first one to introduce a new series i've recently gotten into for my fellow intellects and murder, crime, thriller, enthusiasts.
Instead of copy pasting a summary i'll write my own as the pilot episode of this series had me HOOKED. The series starts off with a classroom of students attending "Middleton" law school being taught Criminal law 100, by quite a notorious stern and sharp professor who also happens to be a criminal defense attorney with a track record for winning cases consistently. The professor's assignments for her class happen to in fact, be actual cases she's currently taking on. she poses a reward for 4-5 students who can obtain evidence for her case, by offering them a position on her staff. The task? obtain evidence or assert a better defense that she has not already come up with within a day's time.
the passionate students she happens to award positions on her team were ones that happen to acquire her evidence on her case that was otherwise undiscovered by her team. the assignment happens to be a ruse for her to accumulate more talented staff. As her "hand picked" students soon discover that they are nothing more than pawns to do her dirty work. The professor in actuality is one who has no morality and is willing to win at all cost, by using others to win her cases through any means necessary such as obtaining evidence illegally to smear and discredit her opposition. The more than eager students find themselves manipulated by the crafty professor into committing murder, unknowingly and being baited in by temptation of a job offer. the students are now forced to continue doing her bidding since everyone's hand is dirty.
My personal take on the show
- Very intellectually challenging, and stimulating
- It's actually very fast pace, as someone who isn't a law student, i find this fascinating for a thriller, mystery, drama
- the pilot comes off very strong, very fast, and there are a vast diversity in the cast who are all guided by a criminal professor who is in fact a criminal herself.
- i suppose if the movie 21 got a sequel or a tv show, it would be very close to this.
