Some of the scenes, while still beautiful, were completely pointless, stupid, unnecessary and detracted a lot from the story.

Haven`t read any of your comments and won`t until i`ve seen it. So pls make sure you use spoiler. I`m pretty sure you are already making use of it properly. So keep it up! Prometheus is great but it took a while for me until i fully appreciated it.

As it is, both Prometheus and Covenant failed to deliver on that front. Sure, there's some good acting (especially on Fassbender's part), but overall the characters aren't worth a damn. Some of the scenes, while still beautiful, were completely pointless, stupid, unnecessary and detracted a lot from the story. Prometheus has to get an award or something for having the dumbest supposedly-smart people in a story ever.

Spoiler: a big crab thing will hump your head and then you will give birth to an alien that will kill everyone. And I did see Prometheus. That one was actually interesting for including the whole creation myth and the engineers but, of course, instead of going all the way with the idea they had to include some stupid infestation/alien garbage so everyone can die. !!!!PLOT!!!! EDIT: Just want to mention that I do not hate the Alien Franchise video games. The franchise lends itself very well to the medium (provided it is done correctly). Two recent examples show that the games can be very hit or miss: Aliens: Colonial Marines sucked ass and Alien: Isolation was very good. Additionally, for those of you who like more autistic video games I highly, highly recommended Space Station 13: Colonial Marines. That game had me hooked for weeks on end.

I never really thought about Alien this way, it's basically how females can and probably have felt, for thousands of years, where we men are the aliens.

Geiger just puts dicks and vaginas everywhere. Anyone who tries to read deeper social commentary from a man who draws dick-head monsters is an idiot. (Okay, that's a bit unfair to Geiger's art-style, but point still stands)

I mean, two of the characters are trans in the original film are they not? This being said, its a bit of a back story/ artsy angle to take but the fun part of the film is how good it is as a thriller (original Alien). I've heard that this film can be fun, but that its really not anywhere near as good as the original Alien (which lets be honest, is really hard to top Alien 1 and 2 are such good movies)

The aliens are phallic and yonic because it's H. R. Geiger, and you don't hire that man expecting anything else. The rapey themes of the aliens are because it is/was scarier.

I am fairly convinced though that it wasn't the engineers homeplanet. People were smaller in size and worshipped the Engineer ship incoming. My guess is they were a faction or some breed of the engineers. So my hope of continuation of the engineer mythology will go on in the coming movies. The Xenomorph creation part is also kind of fucked up in the timeline universe and it will be interesting to see how they solve that.

The Xenomorph origins presented in this movie were probably the only interesting thing about it (pity you could see it miles ahead). The cinematography was also good and everything looked beautiful. This is pretty much all the good things I can say about the movie.

A cast full of unqualified idiots, who should have no business going on a trillion dollar space expedition to colonize other planets. I was rooting for all of them except a few to get killed because of how dumb they were, so that made the movie a lot less scary. It could have been a lot better and I simply want to ask Ridley Scott, Why invest millions of dollars into effects and a building a cool universe if you are just going to give the cast an IQ of 50? Still a decent movie, but could have been great. What I really want to know is why, after establishing in aluen 1 that the facehugger can eat through a spacesuit helmet, they keep havint people get infected in the dumbest ways....
