Chester Benningotn the lead singer of the band Linkin Park has commited suicide today. He leaves behind 6 children from 2 different wives and it seems to be linked with his best friend Chris Cornel who took his own life in May. Today conicdes with Chris Cornel's birthday.
Linkin Park were set to start touring at the end of July following the release of the bands latest album One More Light. This was released in May and topped the billboard charts.
Few hours ago they only uploaded and released a new song on YouTube as well.
This is a picture of him singing at Chris Cornel's funeral
RIP Chester one of the greats for sure! Linkin Park did everything for me, Hybrid Theory is one of my personal favorite albums and the music remixes they did with Jay-Z were amazing.
Damn, that's really sad. I grew up listening to Linkin Park (probably like everyone else my age, because Hybrid Theory and Meteora was the shit back then). It's like they were present at every major event in my life. Rest in peace dude
Rest in Peace... They made some good shit back in the days. I went back just now to The End MV on youtube and I still know the lyrics after 17 years...

I'm crushed, he was one of a kind....and angry, because I cannot comprehend how a father of 6(!!) can take his own life... Pushing as far as you can go, would have really mattered to your kids man!!...wtf!!
Meteora's definitely one of the best 2000s album. Hybrid theory's good as well, was never a fan of their others, especially when they changer their style...
But still, he was a Great singer. RIP, condoleances to the family
That sucks. I listened to a lot of Hybrid, Meteora, and Renanimation in high school, and still listen on occasion. The guy had a rough go in his early life. So sad to see him go like this.
Can't really respect and show some sympathy for what he did, specially having such a big family which should be more that enough of a reason to live until the end.
Really sad that now 6 gonna go through life fatherless for one really selfish move.

It's sad but this is what depression does. It's not logical or anything, it's stupid but really hard for the people who suffer from it.
Probably the first death in my life that actually left me speechless. "They were my childhood" is extremely corny, but it's just true. I was listening to HT on a cassette and every time I played Hoeroes Of Might and Magic 3, I put in Meteora alongside it. Never forget the day either when I borrowed Reanimation from a friend and I just sat at the computer till night listening to it.
"And you're angry; and you should be" - he knew...

One of my teenage heroes is gone.
RIP Chester
Many depressed individuals vow not now to reproduce in this "shitty" world so their future children do not suffer in case he/she commits suicide or his/her infant also gets depression on top of the bitchery the life is. I guess he couldn't block out his instinctual urgeyo reproduce. Anyway R.I.P
Kinda shocked, the only band i ever followed. What's even more dissappointing is the fact that he chose suicide despite having 6 KIDS! with 2 wives. RIP....Though i feel worst for the living.
