Im worried for like everyone this season seems like everyone is making stupid moves, cersi, danny, jaime, the lady who was with oberyn, and the whole situation with sansa and littlefinger/briane is soooo bad i even feel like we're not going to get that team of danny, spider, tyrion hopefully they make it there before danny screws up even more. Seems like arya is the only one with something going for her but i dont get why jaqen didnt just reveal himself in the first place??? was it to see if she was ready to kill (with those 3 guys in the ally?) I agree it was weird jaqen didnt let her in in the first place. Was he really stalking around town to see id shed draw her sword on some troublemakers? Seems pretty obvious from her personality that she would tbh. Perhaps it is better explained elsewhere, but then really, explain it in the series as well or dont do it at all.
Why does everyone seem so upset about daenerys being stupid? Ruling a country is difficult. I imagine shes stuck in a constant struggle between 'giving in' to suggestions and advice, and showing her dominance as a ruler. Shes got it in her head that she needs to be a strong and just ruler. Obviously this can lead to some bad decisions, like the public execution. Turning that around couldve won her a lot favor instead of contempt.

Why didn't the former slave get a trial? A little inconsistent in the application of law.
I guess it's because he confessed. But still. A bit fast tracked.

I'm growing tired of Daenerys and her overly dramatic shit. She had a lot of development in Season 1, but since then, it's been a drag. Not enough interesting stuff is going on to justify giving her so much screen time. Whatever trouble befalls her is a minor setback at best. Everyone knows she will eventually amass an army and sail to Westeros, or else her whole story arc would have been for naught. It was a very slow episode in general, with Jon's election as Lord Commander as the only meaningful event.

I hope Dany gets what coming to her just like Rob. She my most hated alive character in the show now.

Credit to the guy that played the executed slave though. He was very believable and as evident from this thread also created lots of empathy for his character.

Emilia Clark's cgi acting was kinda cringey but I undestand it's hard to pull off even Ian Mckellen crumbled under the pressure. Drogon hype though.
|
my prediction is tyirion will come and punch the mother of dragons and then he will be the king of dragons and ride on a dragon to kings landing and kill cersei
|
I thought Jon's election to legion commander was really underwhelming. Excited about Jaime and Bronne doe

I don't see Danny dying, simply because her entire plot line would've been a waste of time for her to die. it seems like the only character who has any semblance of narrative protection is her, since every other story line could continue to exist minus any one of the other characters.

I don't understand why are people upset with Dany.

I've stopped caring about nearly everything related to Dany simply because there has been no reflection on her changes from concubine to Queen. For 3 seasons she has risen to the top of the world and then has quickly lost control. She has acted almost the same in every council/judgment scenes. Jaime on the other hand (ha,) has changed and evolved multiple times. they've been very repitive with all of her toppling city moments and queen events, I think people are just bored of her isolation and nature of her story compared with Jons. I would have loved to see nearly an entire episode with just her and her new city, but done in an interesting way. It's like we get it, shes making mistakes and its hard to be a ruler. Do we need 4-5 seasons to hammer that point for One character?
On another small gripe, I wish the Wall wasnt so simple and the Walkers would have more play in westeros, Season 2 showed the Walkers about to siege the Wall and instead they were just ... scouting? I much prefer The Consult in Prince of Nothing series to what at least the tv show GoT has done with impending doom. I actually sort of hoped during the burning scene the Walkers warning horn would sound off and all rules would change, but instead its back to Game of Thrones. Will we even see 2+ scenes with the Walkers this season?
Despite all the complaints I will continue to watch, I love Jon Snows overall arc so far and the end of episode 4 was another good step. Brienne and Gandry? Have had some great moments and I like the slower pace of this season. The production of the show is insane.

Given how the episode ended, I can imagine Mereen being so messed up by the time Tyrion gets there. Then she'll be like, "okay, fix this and earn my trust." And that's how itll begin!
I also dont think that was the same Jaqen since they all can change their face and voice. Might be a different faceless guy so that's why he didn't let her in because he wanted to observe her first.

I agree that things progress very fast and scenes are too short but unfortunately that is a problem for most characters

I like Doran Martel. But I still see Julian Bashir from Star Trek DS9

I think when it come to questions about jaqen hygaar, we need to forget our concept of what is a person. like he said, a man is not jaqen hygaar, and that is what a girl must be. Arya may cease entirely to be Arya Stark, and may just become a faceless shapeshifter. or she may burn the whole thing to the ground. her story arc is possibly the most interesting to me.

I had no idea the actor for Jaqen Hygaar was german :O
