After seeing how they trimmed the storylines this season (just kill everyone) i think the show can come to an ending in 13 episodes. I don't think it will be extremely good, but most people just want an ending with a big bang at this point and i think that's a reasonable goal for the show right now.

I think they can finish in 13 episodes. There isn't much left to do unless they drag the political story lines out. The battle with the white walkers won't be a lengthy back and forth fight due to budgetary reasons. Assuming an average of 50 minutes each for the 13 episodes, that's almost as long as the extended edition of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I'd have to reckon the episodes will be at least 55-60min each, I'm thinking longer episodes like they did with the last 2 of this season.

There should be some more info coming out from the comic con in a week from now. The yt channel EmergencyAwesome usually provides nice summaries about it.

And AMC breathes a sigh of relief as the premiere is in the Summer not in the Fall.

If 95% of the cast had been black, you'd refer to the white guy as the white guy. And noone would have cared. But that isn't the case. And oops, it's racism.
I agree with you on most of the rest, Missandei and Grey Worm are in character and Dany's story isn't that great. They could have spent a little bit less time on all of them, though. 1. It's not complaining, 2. it's not ridiculous, and 3. your reactions are honestly hilarious in context given that one of the main themes of the show is other-shaming and characters being ostracized by their appearances and other things often outside of their control; oh look, a bastard, dwarf, eunuch, etc. Also your (inherently flawed) argument still doesn't work even though the cast is predominantly white. I could for example, say "that fat black guy" and it would still be ambiguous and just as racist; am I referring to the character from Qarth or the one from Dorne? 1. You're literally complaining about labels. Go find some other thread to shit up. If a scene was in dorne and someone referred to the big black guy we'd all immediately know who it is (this is called effective communication) and only twats like you would be offended on behalf of an actor who likely doesnt give a shit. If dorne was full of black actors we'd be referring to a lone white guardsman in the same way. Its a convenient, accurate descriptor using a unique characteristic within the context. Im in a class full of asians and im often referred to as the white guy if people dont know my name, it's practical, not racist. Again, I'm not complaining and I am personally not offended-I, like the first responder, just pointed out that there are better ways to identify someone than the color of their skin-which, yes, is racist given that omitting the race of the characters would have had zero impact on our ability to identify them, given that the OP had already said "translator" and "bodyguard". However, I do find it a bit bothersome that if it is just "labels" as you put it, why are you getting so angry about it? You sure seem to have gotten really riled up about something that is apparently inconsequential to you...you've now accused me of shitting up the thread, called me a twat, and put words in my mouth about how I am complaining and offended. But you know, based on that completely unnecessary hostility, I will be excusing myself from partaking in this thread going forward. Show nested quote +On July 13 2016 15:07 nanaoei wrote: the intent was obviously not to be racist, it was his way of describing them on an internet forum. you're all disagreeing in different ways and it's seriously not worth the effort or the time. Nobody so far has mentioned intent except for you. I was not suggesting that the OP was purposely racist, and based on the original response, I think it's fairly reasonable to assume that the other poster wasn't either. You don't need to intentionally be racist in order to say something that can be perceived as racist. Note that I never called the OP a racist, I said the identifier was strange/racist. There's a pretty big difference there; if the OP really had no intention of saying something like that, then it's simply a matter of acknowledgment and moving on. Anyway, before I abandon the thread the last thing I will say is that if you're not familiar with unconscious bias I would suggest looking into it. For me at least it was a very big eye opener for how others can be and are affected by my own unconscious biases. It's a daily effort to overcome them.
Good show chap! Well said.
I am a bit disappointed in how slow Missandei has developed as a character. She came off as crazy smart and has kind of withered on the vine for a while. Could also be the whole romantic stuff with greyworm doing nothing for me, but that's just me not liking that stuff

There will only be two more seasons of Game of Thrones, HBO has confirmed.
Network executives said on Saturday that season eight will be the final season of the hit show.
Casey Bloys, HBO’s new programming chief, made the announcement at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles.
“Believe me, as the new guy, if I could get them do to more, I would take 10 more seasons,” he said.
“But we take their lead on what they think they can do [to make] the best version of the show.”
Fans of the fantasy drama can take solace in the fact that the world of Westeros might not be gone from their screens forever, with Bloys saying that the creation of a spinoff had been discussed.

Thank god this show has a definite end. It seemed to have been going on and on forever. May Daenarys die and long live Cersei. Long may she reign

I would love an unexpected ending where neither Jon nor Dany wins the throne.
Also, the craftsmanship in that trailer. Love it.

I wanna bet Jamie will in the end kill Cersei, he is the kingslayer after all, time to become the queenslayer as well.

You do not let a series/brand like this go to waste.
But they're probably going to screw it up even worse than the show so w/e.

Well, she's so weak at this point the only interesting place for her to go is up. Current forces arrayed:
TEAM DANY: 3 Dragons Dothraki horde (several Westerosi houses worth; 60-100k?) Tyrell ("second largest" Westerosi army, maybe 20-40k?) Dorne (smaller house; maybe 10-20k) Unsullied (8k, but very strong) Second Suns (2k cavalry) Rebel Ironborn (a few thousand, but bring boats.) Total: 100-170k + Dragons About a third of her army is a Westerosi force of knights and infantry, a sliver is elite infantry, and the majority are light cavalry.
TEAM GORGO/SARAH CONNOR Royal/reach forces (maybe one house worth after the decimation at Blackwater etc.) Lannister forces (started with 60k troops) Total: 30-60k Mostly infantry with some cavalry. Roughly the size of the Westerosi portion of Dany's forces, but far lower morale, particularly the Reachmen.
UNDECLARED: Starks/Wildlings (would be lucky to muster 10k good men at this point) Vale/Littlefinger (perhaps 30-50k?) Ironborn (10k?)
Starks are natural allies of Dany, and will almost certainly either go for her or stay out of it. Too few to be decisive, however. Same for Ironborn but for the other side, though they are somewhat stronger. If the Ironborn were planning ahead, they could harass or defeat Dany's force at sea. They are unlikely to have prepared so well, however, and they might hesitate in signing up with Cersei.
That leaves Littlefinger as the potential Kingmaker (those of you who know your War of the Roses will get the joke). If he indeed has 40k heavy cavalry, the battle starts to look not impossible. + Show Spoiler +Dany: 33-58k inf, 5-10 heavy cav, 60-100 light cav Cersei: 25-50 inf, 30-50k heavy cav If he used guile to get one or more of the other houses out of the picture or on to his side, you're looking at a fair fight. If he cleverly cuts enemy supply lines and uses the Ironborn, he might be at an advantage. Add in some Qyburn bullshit...

Well, what if Dany's fleet is caught by a storm, many ships do not make it to Westeros, and the Dothraki horde gets scattered and starts to pillage Westeros at random? That would make Dany look like an invader and perhaps lower her chances of getting any other support besides Dorne. That could make for some interesting FFA.

i don't think this would happen. the only chance of this happening is if dany herself dies prior to actually reaching land upon her ships. THEN it's a fight for who is in charge next of the invasion and the men will fight amongst each other for "rightful heir" of the dothraki tribe with swift killing of each other. They are a simplistic barbaric tribe who only comprehends superstition and obedience and primitive violence.
The scenario you're discussing would be more like, yeah they understand ships aren't going to make it and sink (it probably will) despite this it fuels their vigor to go forward and conquer. Dany is by no means some moralistic saint. Rather she's aware of human life, but it seems sympathy is only for those who are in her own tribe. I'm sure she would want to swiftly send in her dragons, eliminate the enemy army enough to the point where they submit or are subdued. This is war, and it's going to get ugly. They already swore allegiance to her. The only other probable scenario is if all her dragons got eliminated prior to entering the vicinity. I'm sure the dorthraki men would go right back into trying to make her a slave.
It won't get to the point where it's going to be a political battle for support. it's more like her swift subduing of the enemy land will either be successful or a loss which will cause her men to turn on her.

If Dany + Tyrion + fleet all just drowned off screen it'd be pretty fucking funny in a "we just got trolled for 6 years" way. Doesn't seem likely though.
