Also, that Wall better be magical, because the wights themselves can now clearly survive and walk around underwater at this point. Maybe the White Walkers themselves can't, though, and the Wall will block their mind control on the other side. has to be fire so they can burn down the wall and continue south. otherwise they would've done it seasons ago

Apart from that it was clearly a trap by the Night King and I think it was made clear before he had Bran like powers so good chance he knows very goddamn well what's going on. The dragon visuals including death scene were simply amazing. I guess the point of this dumb expedition was for the Night King show Dany his "welcome to the North bitch" tricks and to get an Ice Dragon ofcourse. Other parts were less good. They are really pushing it on the time and travel front. Feasable or not, I don't think it's good to make the audience have to rationalize or calculate if its possible or not. Jon and Benjen as well. Guess they wanted to end the Benjen ark but this felt lackluster. And Arya omfg would you give it a rest? After all the shit you've been through is it really that impossible to cut your sister some slack? All in all I think DnD aren't idiots and they're doing the best they with all the story lines. At least they push forward to an ending where mr. Martin seems to be stuck in a writers block.

I do wonder whether they'll end on some cliffhanger at the big meetup for S7, and what it could be if they do. Dany roasting Cersei would be pretty dope, even if it would drive Jaime bonkers. Interesting This episode really was pretty weak though. It all started with this stupid plan that Tyrionn came up with. So they have a wight, now it's time to go onto the real hard part: convincing Cersei. And it doesn't even make sense why they want to do that. And I love Tormund, but dude should have died. Every time someone died , it was like "oh wait it was just an extra, it's all good." And John goes out so far against the wights like a dummyy for no visual reason, just wtf'ish. I'm gonna give the Arya-Sansa stuff one more week to completely judge it, but they are going to need one hell of a reveal next week to redeem it I feel.

Wouldn't that be interesting. Maybe Sansa will wise up after Arya turned over the knife and figure out that Littlefinger has been behind all of it.

lol @ Night King rocket arms btw == I must say, with regards to it being delayed, being the penultimate season, and having only 7 episodes after the immense amount of hype in the wake of last season's finale... I think this one is going down as the worst season for sure. Maybe the finale can save it?

While I liked a lot of the action, a lot of it did leave me wondering "is that an extra?" In hindsight they all wore hoods and had spears (I could swear they were all the same guy), and everybody knows only extras use spears. I think Jon was trying to get to the Night King? Or something? It's too bad Dany didn't breathe fire on the five official-looking White Walkers to start off the fight or his grand plan (if he does have some foreknowledge) would have been toast. Though they may also have an anti-dragonfire technique waiting in the wings to dumpster their second attempt at attacking his army.

Honestly though, we know nothing about the witewalkers. They could open portals from parallel universes to summon more versions of themselves for all I know. They have the plot armor to propel the story forward by whatever means necessary. So trying to argue against their logistics is pointless.

they still fight like gods.. benjen coming out of nowhere just smacking down wights for fun until he gets to jon, then dies against the second one after he's done saving him.. sansa-arya scenes bad as well. was honestly the first episode of the entire show where I was thinking 'even inside this fantasy universe with flying dragons, undead kings and people being resurrected, this makes no sense and isn't possible'. And it all started because a bunch of guys wanted to embark on the most stupid and risky mission ever undertaken. I kinda felt like this wasn't Martin's work anymore - one of the great things about game of thrones earlier is that characters who did stupid shit generally ended up dead. Now they all got saved in an impossible manner. I still enjoyed it, but I think worst episode claims are good. I mean it's even stuff like, the night king had like 5 different spears, you could see that at first. Why does he only throw two of them during a 10 minute battle?

I think this one is going down as the worst season for sure. Maybe the finale can save it? Well this is at least subjective, for me it will go down as one of the best I don't fully get the Arya+Sansa comments: from my point of view, the scenes at Winterfell were among the best this season, both the Stark reunions and the Arya+Sansa dynamic. Btw, someone mentioned in the book's thread: props to Emilia Clarke for the last episode, really nice acting! I also felt a bit forced that only the priest died, while all the other main characters in the expedition (a part from the dragon eheh) survived, I was expecting either the hound or the Tormund to die as well (honestly towards the end I thought Jon could have died as well, before he was saved by Benjen).

- Tormund + The hound. - Dany acting is generally better when she doens't have to be this "tough ruler"-girl. - Undead Dragon Bad thing: Everything else made no sense on several levels, but that has been repeated by a lot of people so that's just what GOT is.

I rewatched a few episodes from season 1 lately. God it's such a different show. Everyone is so smart there.

So this was a great episode with the banter and dragons vs zombies. The dragon dying was so well made, with the blood pouring out and all. And frost wyrms coming holy shit. The hound being so bored he throws rocks at a skeleton. It was all great. Zombie bears!!? 10/10 I think Emilia Clarke was amazing this episode. Bran better not cockblock Jon with family information before they go at it One thing I wonder, nobody bats an eye when the brotherhood bros turn their swords on fire. What is the accepted way that they do this? Just holy firegod magic?
