Jason Momoa sold Khal Drogo perfectly. His speech at the end of You Win or You Die was completely thrilling. Savage and regal and very physical. It's sort of the part that he was born to play, I think.
Charles Dance gives the best performance on the show. Yes, better than Dinklage, sorry. His acting and his characterization have been the best part of the show. I think any other actor would have made that scene where he's skinning the stag and lecturing Jamie completely campy. That scene led itself to be so over the top, but instead, it was just really really good. And every scene he has with Arya at Harrenhal was very charming.
Blackwater was the most amazing hour of television I've ever seen. More than the season premier of Lost or the Walking Dead, more than College on The Sopranos, more than Codfish Ball. Anyways, it was really good. That being said, Gregor Clegane has a very boring actor. Dance does do an amazing job in his role, but i still think Dinklage steals the show in ever scene hes in. They both are going to have some amazing scenes together in the upcoming season.
Dinklage is great but also a bit carried by his character. He is given by far the best material to be a favorite with.
Dance has the top spot from me. He is the one who managed to replace my previous visualization, so I have to call him the best.

Indeed, but there was always the chance he could have screwed up. Thankfully he didn't.

I agree that those are two of the better actors in the show, but I still think the actor that did the best job playing his role was Mark Addy. It makes me even more sad that Robert had to die so early

I think that's the best way to put it. Tywin is just not a sympathetic character in the books, he's harsh and myopic. But he is in the show. He has the same harshness but they make time to soften him and his motivations, while not wordy like in the novels, seem more human. British actors, amirite?

The wife and I just came back from a screening of S03E01 (never been to a screening of anything before!). I'm so excited for the next several weeks. Somehow waiting for the season to start for months and months was pretty easy, but now, constantly waiting for the next Sunday night to come is going to kill me.

Any bets on how many times Hodor says Hodor in season three?
Winner gets lots of ESPORTS dollars.

Ten episodes. 8 minutes Bran footage per episode. 1 minute accumulated Hodor focus per Bran scene. 15 seconds of "Hodor" per Hodor. 8 "Hodors" per 15 seconds of "Hodor". Hodor, hodor, hodurr, herdurr, square root the fractal, isolate the lowest common denominator, integrate, stroke the nine, carry the two....... im going to guess about 71 "Hodors" over season 3.

That's it, the trailers and trailers of trailers and teasers of trailers and parts of teasers made into trailers with completely unrelated music have killed all enthousiasm in me.
I used to be excited, but poorly executed, agressive marketing doesn't work well in my eyes.

Dance and Dinklage are both doing about as good a job as I could imagine anyone doing with those roles. With Dinklage it's striking because in roles where there is a physical abnormality required before you are considered for the role, the 'talent pool' is so much smaller. And therefore big roles are often given to people with less talent than you might expect. But Dinklage could be put up against anyone, dwarfism or no, and still come out favourably.
Dance has that Peter Cushing style air of authority that he exudes in every scene. I would say both steal any scenes they are in, and when they are both in a scene it is an exciting duel which often ends in a draw! All other actors in the show yield to them though. Like any truly great actor, Dance can turn a scene with a look. And similarly Dinklage can make a well-designed and prepared script look like ad lib. Both awesome to watch.

Its your fault for giving in. I never watch the trailers. Whats he point? I know I am going to watch the season either way, why run the risk of spoilers?
