Decent plot and some cheesy romance but its hollywood what can you say The movie was fine until the last 20 minutes or so. I've found CGI to be quite lackluster (didn't like it personally) and the main villain was pretty weak (this tends to be standard for DC movies though). 8/10 from me.

DC at least has a better track records with their villains than Marvel (even if everything else sucks). Maybe not as characters, but at least as plot motivators that actually justify superheroes.

Fucking waste of time and I'll quote my friend here who summed it up perfectly: "Why even make this movie?" Watch at your own risk (disclaimer: Prometheus was much better than this and if your hopes are beyond that please revisit them). Edit: Some highlights:
I agree totally. What a way to steer the series into a ditch. At this point my only hope is that the Blomkamp movie is actually real and will happen. The Saga needs new blood if it's going to survive at all.

I would have liked him 10x more if they actually had a movie history of legitimate supervillains. + Show Spoiler + Zemo was great in the context of an average Joe having the capacity to disrupt and break the Avengers. The problem is, he wasn't any more or less threatening than Vanko, or the Chitauri, or even Ultron. Which says more about how ineffective those guys were than anything else. But it just means the impact of Zemo being a weak villain against invincible heroes is, only propped up by the heroes having their own hangups, is not a new concept, just intentional for once.

Then there is Loki... an A+ villain capable of turning a mediocre movie like Thor into 'fun', a sub par movie like Thor 2: The Dark World into 'watchable', and a solid movie like The Avengers into 'great'. I can't wait to see him at least one more time in Ragnarok. Other than these two standouts, yeah Marvel's been pretty hazy in the antagonist department. Hopefully all this meta they have been building around Thanos will actually pay off come Infinity War, but after how hard they managed to botch Ultron and The Mandarin I feel like nothing is guaranteed.

The Winter Soldier was a far stronger antagonist (and film), both in terms of himself and the true villain of the film pulling his strings... god damn this movie was so good... Yeah, Winter Soldier is basically the only time the villains did anything of consequence in a Marvel movie. Loki was a great villain (Red Skull wasn't terrible either), but stands out for being a good character. He's still a complete non-threat to the Avengers.

On another note, does anyone have any good sites for watching Korean films? I can't find anything online that's good quality and has English subs. I'm dying to get back into the Korean films.
