So apparently, american football is in a crises, since there are not enough new players. This is about a doctor that forced the nfl to admit how dangerous the sport is. The thing is, there really is no story here. They bend over backwards to try and connect the most random dots and it shows, I done it plenty myself when writing essays. It just isn't a movie, so there is no reason to watch it. Goon 8/10 Stifler plays a bouncer that gets hired as an icehockey player to fight on the ice instead of playing. It captures team spirit quite nicely and from the premise, to the kids in the stands, to the final showdown with wolverine's brother this movie manages to be hilarious and uplifting.

+ Show Spoiler + Loki tells Thanos early on, "You'll never be a God." Kind of a cute line, but I think closer to the mark than people realize. Thanos very literally plays God by dividing life and death wherever he visits (he kills randomly as people we know in life seemingly die randomly), but one time, he makes an exception. He allows himself to relate to a girl on a "human" level, not randomly, by adopting one that he normally would've killed. But to truly be a God, ironically, prophetically, he ends up being required to destroy that exception he made to playing God, and kill his own daughter. The Christian God is a story about God creating a son, only to brutally kill him later, for the benefit of mankind. Just saying. It makes Peter Quill's "Jesus" joke a little more interesting. If Gamora gets resurrected in the sequel -- well, there you go. There are holes in the metaphor, but it's much better than the comics, where Thanos is just Evil who likes to kill. And that would've worked here, if he were just a fun baddie. But Marvel made something brilliant, and made one of the most interesting villains I can think of, for the circumstances. Thanos wins everything and ends with nothing. His prize for God-hood is to watch a sunset in isolation, because he was truly doing it for us. People want to rag on the movie as "superhero tripe", but... it's really just an amazing movie. Marvel just makes amazing movies, with amazing directors, writers and actors. And his facial-animation is a milestone-achievement. You can practically smell him.

Quickest 2.5 hours in the theater that I spent, at least. For a movie that had some 15+ movies building up to it, it definitely delivered.

+ Show Spoiler + There he did it all just to impress a girl (Death), who complained there are more living than dead. He killed half of universe's population to appease her but it wasn't enough so he started torturing his family etc. It was all rather dumb.

+ Show Spoiler + They did such a good job of showing Thanos's backstory and even getting me to empathize/ sympathize with him. On April 30 2018 11:13 Emnjay808 wrote: Waiting for credits. Slight criticism: + Show Spoiler + The trope of "perfectly executed plan goes awry when one hero decides to do something incredibly stupid and sabotage everything" (in this case, StarLord slapping Thanos out of Mantis's spell) is very overdone imo, and was probably the weakest ten seconds of the entire movie. Question: + Show Spoiler + If Scarlet Witch had just killed Vision/ destroyed the Mind Stone at the beginning of the movie, then Thanos could never have completed the gem set for the Infinity Gauntlet, right? He was able to rewind Vision's later death only because he had the Time Stone by then, but I assume he can't rewind backwards past when he first obtained the Time Stone, or else he wouldn't have had the stone at that time, right? Meaning that he can't undo events before Dr. Strange gave him the Time Stone? Since then if he had the Time Stone during events before he was given the Time Stone, there would be some weird contradiction?

Assuming that your prediction is correct i wouldn't assume that you cannot jump to a time where you didn't have the stone. I wouldn't overthink time travel in a marvel movie

I'm sure there's some loophole or whatever, maybe if Dr. Strange gets it *back* and he can jump over the period of time when Thanos had the Time Stone back to an earlier point in time when Strange still had it? Or something, I dunno.

Also, if there is only one review you read, it should be Glen Weldon's He breaks provides separate reviews for every possible person that could be seeing this movie and answers their important questions. Including this person: "I hate these stupid superhero movies. They're all pointless, loud, violent fodder served up for the dull-witted masses. I am here against my will. It's possible I'm on a bad date but it's more likely I have been kidnapped. Please contact the authorities. Blink twice if you understand me." I am sorry for the position you find yourself in but I'm confident it will soon resolve itself and that, in no time, you'll be back to your usual routine, commenting on the NPR Facebook page without reading the articles.

I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK One of the last movies of Park Chan-Wook i still had to watch and it didn't disappoint. The story is about Young-goon a young woman who thinks she is a cyborg. One day she tries to recharge her 'batteries' which gets interpreted as a suicide attempt which gets her a place in a psychiatric hospital. There we meet a lot of peculiar people, one of them Il-soon becomes fascinated with our main character and tries to help her out. This movie is basically a romcom done by a genius. It's very funny at places, lot of absurd situations but even in these you can find meaning about the various relationships and themes being tackled. He doesn't make fun of these mentally ill people, quite the contrary it's a very humanizing pov the film takes and that's just wonderful to see. Especially the main actors are performing their roles very well and the cinematography is great as usual (though it doesn't look as beautiful as usual due to the setting we are in, it's not stylized). If you ever wanted to watch a movie with socks which make you fly, this is the one! 8-8.5/10
