Zoro's fights almost always ends fights with a big finishing move so it's dumb to suggest this is something new, but in those fights he was also pressured a lot by the enemy and needed that move to win. Here the new move is needed to protect his friends, but if the it was just Zoro vs Pica he wouldn't need the move unless Pica could outlast Zoro. thats IF he one shots him next chapter whos to say Pica wont put up a fight?

The idea earlier about making fun of Pica to defeat him would have been great. It would have been in the spirit of One Piece. This whole ultra demon edgy one-eyed sharingan slash BS belongs in other, lesser shonen manga. Before, fights involved tactics and innovation. Now everyone can either jump thousands of feet or just fly around while firing off kamehamehas. Some people are just hard to satisfy... How could a battle royal envolving thousands of people in a whole city can be a small fights using brains? it's a fucking battle royal got damn it.. was franky's fight like that? was sugar like that? ONLY THIS ONE MIGHT BE AND IT DIDN'T EVEN HAPPEN

I agree with this but its not limited to those people. First mates of other yonkous could also give him trouble as well as people like Law.

Oh yeah, there's Law as well. I was talking about people from Dressrosa though, it's Sanji who is having trouble with Big Mam atm.

Currently at Water 7 during my re-run. It's such a good arc on so many levels. By the way, I'm like 95% sure that the water level at Long Ring Long Island goes down during the Aqua Laguna. I'm also quite sure that Kaku and Kalifa enjoyed working for Galley-La.

Now everyone can either jump thousands of feet or just fly around while firing off kamehamehas. Luffy litterally destroyed an entire mansion in the arlong arc, and before that we had hawk eyes chopping ships in half. I dont see how what we are seeing now is power creep on the scale of DBZ in any shape or form. The difference between this, and something like DBZ or Naruto, is that the power ceiling that was set at the beginning of the series has not been surpassed yet, and, even if you want to argue it -has-, unlike DBZ and Naruto, it certainly hasn't been surpassed every single arc. The main characters are still catching up to the pre-established power scale.
