Also the "ending surprise" was definitely something everyone needs to see, although some people already predicted it. Still have to see it. As a manga reader, the ending surprise pisses me off. As someone who used to hate reading manga and was anime-only for a long time the fact that they show Sabo ~a month before he appears in the anime is fucking ridiculous. It kills the hype of his actual post timeskip debut in the anime. I'd understand if they did this if the special was released before they animated Punk Hazard, but literally 4 episodes before his appearance... Just no. Toei really fucked up IMO.

Or maybe they created more hype for everybody?
There might be many guys that only watch Anime but surelly 90% of anime followers also see the manga.. so it's not any spoiler

There would be so much more hype if chapter 731 was animated first, but now that every anime-only person that watches the credits of the special sees that, they won't be nearly as excited about him when 731 is animated as they would be if they didn't see him in that scene a month before his actual canon post timeskip debut.

It kills for the hype for sure but I didn't even see it. I'm guessing at the end of the credits?
3D2Y was good enough for a movie. Not as good as Z or Strong World though. As always with filler, power levels are skewed, then again I didn't see Hancock having any trouble throughout the movie. Except vs the fishman? She could have destroyed that small fry easily by just kicking, lol.
eh eh eh
too unrealistic to bring so many characters like that, doesn't feel right. but whatever, was worth watching

well it's a good thing we already knew :p

Wait so was Sabo that one broker with the top hat that was watching the shenanigans on Punk Hazard? Or is the guess still Lucci

It still looks like Lucci to me. The silhouette doesn't look like Sabo, and Sabo has no prior association with the drink on the table while Lucci does.

Just kidding guys theres not chapter still Thursday night probably

Watched the special episode last night..
I liked it but the parts with + Show Spoiler +Buggy and mihawk was weird.. especially Buggy's crew and him lookes so weak.. Mihawk was like chillin and didn't care that much .. World was super strong tho!

It's a special about Luffy's training during the time-skip, called 3D2Y.

Re my thoughts on the "3d2y" special + Show Spoiler + It was good overall as it showed what happened to luffy within the timeskip, or at least a portion of it.
It was weird though that World became an Admiral ranked fighter than needed a fleet of Marines and Pirates (pre-Shubukai timeperiod) to take him down supposedly. But when it was shown what was done to take him down, it only took actions from the Cipher Pol using the Marines as distraction to deal him almost a deathblow.
That's one of the things that bugged me. The threat directed towards his character seems to be greatly overestimated?? That's me.
But then going to the 2Y time skip, it is shown that he does know how to properly use Haki, even a full body Haki. So maybe admiral level along with his more more manipulation for both power, speed and mass and he is quite formidable when you look at how he is portayed even at "that age".
Yet, the last battle with Luffy just didn't make sense to me from a storytelling standpoint after it was shown he was capable of all those, he was beat by a pre-timeskip Luffy who just managed to use Red Hawk?
He had not only power and defence advantage as the character world, but he also had the speed advantage as well which beats 2nd gear any day of the week. So Luffy just didn't have a means to close that gap (yet) during this period.
I just wished for a more believable take with say a team up between Mihawk, Luffy and Boa to take him down at least easier from a narrative point of view to further expand on Luffy's need to improve further to make sure he does grow "more" in terms of power to protect his crew.
It doesn't need to be just Luffy winning in the end against the big bad of the show.
But that's me. I still liked it overall, but maybe Z was better for me.

I think a huge problem with taking down World was that nobody could actually ever reach him because his overpowered Devilfruit, he literally takes little pistol bullets and turns them into battleship busting attacks. On top of that he's an advanced Haki user. I actually liked the whole sneaky Cipher Pol thing because ODA has just quite a few iconic moments throughout the story to show that guns and swords are still relevant. (whitebeard getting killed by swords and handguns, the very first kill of the series by Lucky Roo, Doffy shooting Law)
The special also showed the problem with movies and specials like this. You need an epic opponent and while I wouldn't say that the events of Strong World, Z and 3D2Y are necessary canon because they is no manga source material, the characters Shiki, Z and B. World are. Those 3 were all big dogs in the past and kinda enemies Luffy's not really supposed to defeat at the time he meets them. (Z is arguable because he was sick and it's post timeskip when Luffy's already a haki master)

Wouldn't it be so funny if we got a chapter today?

They are infront of DOFLAMINGO . . . . . . waiting for chapter. .

It's probably tomorrow that we get the chapter. Friday actually.

I just watched the special episode - I think that it was a good movie-length episode or small arc. Definitely worth watching and better than much filler. + Show Spoiler + I liked how Luffy grew in power against a really strong opponent as we know he usually does; culminating in the red hawk move. The cipher pol were awesomely cool as well in the flashback. I have to think that the crew used seastone bullets provided by cipher pol to down World; that would really make sense to surprise him and weaken him so much in one move. I thought Luffy wouldn't prevail in the end by himself, actually, but it kind of makes sense. I think the current generation is stronger than the one of World's time, so the power levels do match up. I had to lol at Mihawk totally chilling the whole ep and then busting his dreams easily. Heh. Hancock's power continues to be weird, either they can fall for her and gg stone or else she's pretty weak.

Omg please no. I cant handle anymore clones in OP it reminds me too much of Naruto I was okay with Robin doing it because of her ability but Dofla's doesnt even make sense
