You really dont think the incident where the sky was split open when Shanks and WB clashed had anything to do with haki? what was it then? And whitebeard wasnt just simply feared for his DF, he was feared for being the allround strongest man in the world. Do i need to list the ridiculous ammount of damage he was able to soak up yet keep on fighting despite his poor health and old age? No way in hell did that have anything to do with haki. That was two of the strongest people in the world physically clashing. Same thing with whitebeard being a beast, he was just a beast. Everyone saying every little thing is haki is getting pretty stupid now. How come people in the manga thought it was haki, then?
Can you site the chapter where they say it was haki? I remember it was said along the lines of this is what happens when two people with CH clash. Meaning two incredibly strong forces, not the haki itself.

Looking back, looks I was mistaken at the sky being divided actually being called haki. They didn't actually say why it happened at all, other than the sky was actually getting divided. Shanks boards Whitebeard's ship, his Conqueror's Haki starts knocking people unconscious, and even starts making the ship physically crack and squeak as if breaking from his mere presence, and Whitebeard called that Haki. Weird how his presence was actually breaking the ship. Anyway, my mistake about the sky clash part. But you would think, if the sky was parted because of the impact of them clashing swords, the clouds overhead would have been blown away, rather than getting actually divided like that.

Generally in shounens its things that determine power levels (i.e. chakra, blood lust, haki) that causes changes to scenery so I'd say it is the haki that causes the sky to part that way.

Then I guess Luffy's gear 2 and gear 3 must be haki because he used those extensively to beat Rob Lucci. Generalizing has rarely improves a discussion.
I can't quite remember, was it explicitly said that Whitebeard had (very strong) conqueror's haki? Because if a yonkou, that was called the strongest man alive and rivaled Gol D. Roger, if he achieved all that on the back of his devil fruit, strong body and fighting prowess then we could lay the conqueror's haki issue to rest.
On the other hand I would really like for Rebecca to awaken conqueror's haki and still be a crap tier fighter. That would be the ultimate irony. I probably am mean spirited about those.

All we know is that he had it, but he was never explicitly shown to use it, outside the possibility of the currently disputed Sky Splitting incident.

Thats not related to what I said. In DBZ fighters made rocks start floating when they charged up and in HxH the sky gets dark when someone shows their blood lust or Nen. I'm not talking about physical strength or abilities like kamehameha.

To me the splitting of the clouds was their wills being physically manifest and in opposition. The part of the sky that Shanks stands under is fundamentally different to the part of the sky that Whitebeard stands under - and their parts of the sky are not compatible. Whether the physical manifestation of will is 'haki' is still up to the interpretation of the reader as it has not been explicitly spelled out (at least as far as I'm concerned). As an alternative view; haki could be the ability to talk to and morph the world in a similar manner to how devil fruits connect and morph the world.

i really think people are starting to get way to meta with haki

Should be out within 12-20 hours... hopefully.
and i really hope Oda doesnt leave Luffy vs Doffy hanging and skips over to Kyros vs Diamantee or Zoro vs Pica or something else uniteresting this chapter.

If you think that Luffy and Doflamingo's fight will conclude before the other fights, I have some bad news for you...

It will eventually do so, Luffy's fight always ends last.

Im saying give the Luffy+Law+Doflamingo fight one more week now that it carries momentum and maybe dip into the corazon part. It is necessary to give the fight and the entire arc the tension it deserves.
Remember, we still dont really know why Law went through all this trouble to take on Doffy (and dragging luffy in to it in the process) in the first place. Last week we got Doffys motive/Backstory, now its time to learn more about Law since Doflamingo apparently has another version of that incident 13 years ago.

I wouldn't mind the Law flashback the teaser we got earlier I thought was really cool with Law strapped with grenades want nothing but to see the world burn

It would give more weight to his grudge against Doflamingo, wich is the sole reason they are fighting atm. theories just doesnt cut it...
