Fishman's strength Human's strength CP9 Pills
We have witnessed Jimbei's strength so if Hodi is about the same level of fishman than with pills it should be not surprising that this will be a tough fight. Jimbei's message to luffy even told him not to fight Hodi.

I dont understand why you linked those pages, it backs up the argument that hodi will be no match for luffy :\ If luffy can beat someone with 4000 douriki, then after 2 years of training he should destroy someone with 400x douriki. I doubt that jinbe's message was to stop luffy from getting himself hurt, but rather to not harm the relationship between human's and fishmen any further

Looks like next weeks chapter will be exciting...

Well, don't you think Hodi will eat a lot of those pills in order to fight Luffy? Let's say he has 2000 douriki without pills, and then eats like 5-6...
And about the chapter: + Show Spoiler +Oda keeps building up stuff! Let the fighting start already! :D Dekken vs Luffy next! And also Luffy will probably meet up with Franky and Jinbe.

Edit: for some reason I laughed when he mentioned he hasn't washed the hand he touched the princess with for 10 years... At least he's serious when it comes to love ;D Looking forward to next week's chapter, battle time :0000

Man im getting worried. If Luffy eats one of those pills and uses gear third he might die of old age when he finaly Reaches Raftel.

WOW early chapter this week !!! Awesome stuff !!! :D
I want to see Hodi vs Zoro next ! and Dekken vs Luffy. Next week will be awesome !

And I think he warned Luffy, cuz Hodi is no match for Luffy. Srsly Hodi might die bcuz of a Pill-overdose. Jinbe just knows that ...

if van dekker or w.e needed the other group to do this, while only a part of the straw hat crew took out the whole castle easily without really harming them, zoro and stuff is probably just going to wipe the floor with them.

I'd be disappointed if their first real fight was anything other than a rapefest by straw hats. Otherwise it kinda makes the whole time skip training thing feel kinda pointless.

True, but Lucci wasn't just a regular human. Remember that he was the strongest member of one of the elite, undercover government subgroups. It's been awhile since I read the Enies Lobby arc but I think I remember Oda hyping Lucci like crazy with the flashback of him killing alot of people in the past even when he was a child. That and just the pure badassery aura that he had about him. Lucci probably was more than a match for most fishmen (otherwise, CP9 seems rather weak in retrospect).
It is kind of pointless to get into a power level argument with a manga like this but remember that Hodi was Arlong's subordinate. Luffy defeated Arlong in his earlier days. Much much later, Luffy barely (and I mean BARELY) defeats Lucci even with Gear 2nd and 3rd. Again, I think people may be giving Hodi too much credit. Luffy has been training like crazy for 2 years under Rayleigh (the right hand of Roger). It'd be kind of pointless if he was defeated by Hodi so easily (basically, Hodi probably does not have 40k douriki or anywhere even close that amount).
|
This fight is probably going to take a while considering flashbacks of hodi's childhood and the showcasing of everyones new powers. I just wanna see the new world!!!! T_T
|
its probably not going to be simple fighting, i think jinbei will explain it. plus hes a "wanted man" so theres probably some more truth to it.
i dont think hodi will be that strong and basing a "normal persons strength" off of lucci is ridiculous he was anything but normal (zoan devils fruit+CP9 training+natural talent).
|
Lucci didn't have his Hakki awaken when he fought Luffy, I bet Zoro is ganna just rofl stomp Hodi and everybody in there by himself.
|
Yea...SH is gonna roflstomp them.

The prevailing opinion seems to be that Hodi and co aren't really the bad keys here but just pawns that the real bad guy(s) are using, namely the shadow that was referenced a few chapters ago. There's been some speculation that it's the princes, or it might be some government party that we don't know yet or maybe even something else. Either way I don't really see any of the strawhats struggling to fight against the villains that have been shown to this point, they just seem like losers tbh. The possible exception is the octopus swordsman but hes already been shown to work for the highest bidder so him not being loyal to Hodi isn't out of the question, it may even be likely.

i want to see the drunken octopus's fight, is 2 hand better or 6 hands??

The shadow? Do you mean the silhouette of the guy wearing a straw hat that was seen during the fortune-telling? Or someone else?
