I thought only emnjay was like "everything older than a year is old". //In other news, I'm close to finishing up The Tatami Galaxy - 2 episodes left. What a freaking piece of art. The longer the series goes the more you notice how brilliant all the previous episodes have been. Sadly I don't have enough time left to watch the last 2 episodes now and I'm away over the weekend but I'm looking forward to them next week.

I don't bother with most "old" stuff either and just watch the currently airing shows unless I REALLY want to watch something specific for fanboy reasons. For me it's just that there's so much out there to catch up on that I'd probably never finish catching up, so I just gave up on doing that and watch maybe... 5 shows a year that aren't currently airing while the rest is just new stuff.

That's basically me too. I just like to watch currently airing shows for some reason. And when I'm really bored then I watch some older recommended shows, which often are good of course.

Well I get your point but I thought this was more about people that don't even want to touch old anime because old/ugly/whatever. Btw. it's sad to hear that you feel the way you do. I think even catching up half-way is much better than not catching up at all. I feel like there is a ton of awesome stuff there because it all accumulated over all those years compared to now where we rarely see even one show of that level per season.

Digging up "good" old series takes a lot of time which to be honest I dont really have with this new work T_T. Randomly got a clue bout Lodoss-tou Senki and I just want to watch something with that old drawing style. D&D setting is probably best, still I look up everything you can throw at me. Watched - NGE / GTO / Aa! Megami-Sama! Probably no Gundams (mecha at all - I think ill be missing a lot o.O - the only mecha that was enjoyable was Broken Blade) Im keeping my eyes on Gosick for some reason o.O *maybe cus I watched hyouka T_T

The ending also kind of sucked Main girl was the only thing carrying that show, because MC had zero personality of his own. And when it comes to my backlog i almost just add anything i hear people talking about that sounds even remotely interesting. So i can't really recommend much since most of the stuff on my backlog is well, stuff i haven't watched yet. Maybe you'd like Slayers though? Also unrelated, i just realized that Aoi Yuuki is gonna be the seiyuu of Tatsumaki next season, that's amazing.
