Sad, I quite liked the girl who needed gold but obviously everyone had to die. I was secretly hoping that she at least could maybe end up an ally the same way the village girl did but there was no way for that to happen after they went into the tomb. Then I get hopes up when she gets mercy only to realize that that means she'll die. Quite nice background music during that whole scene. Idk, to most people it's probably just standard "sad piano tune" but was fitting nicely. Wonder where this is going from here considering that there's not that many episodes left It's funny that you say this, I did too. I kept hoping that'll happen as well, oh well. What happened made the most sense, but one can't help it after all due to her noble cause.
Ending after credits was great too and the kind of stuff I want to see more of in Overlord.

Eh i'm not sure if i agree that it was a noble cause. Arche still lived a better life than like 99% of the people in her empire and so did her sisters. Ultimately they were tricked into robbing the tomb by their own empire and part ainz himself as a strategy to test what was in the tomb but they still willingly chose to rob a place without knowing who it belonged to, being completely fine with stealing from others as long as they could get away with it. This time they just happened to take up a job they weren't gonna walk away from alive.
Bonus info the anime didn't reveal: She used to study under Fluder as his best student and could've just kept studying under him and lived a life working for the empire as a mage, but she chose to go the route of unlawful work hoping that it'd pay more and faster.

the way I understood her is that yes, she took on these unlawful jobs but with the intention to help her family with that money, or at the least get her two little sisters out of her parents place because of her parents behavior. I can't really talk about how good or bad her life was compared to other people living in that empire since the anime just didn't show any of that in detail but it was quite clear that she felt she needed the money, not for herself but for her family / two little sisters.
I think that certainly puts her in a better light than someone who does unlawful things to get hookers and cocaine. The way I see it she gave up on the safety you just described (living as a mage for the empire as a student of Fluder) exactly because she wanted to help her family, instead of leaving them behind to deal with the problem themselves and to start a new life by herself.

She knew the risks, and only did it for her family. I was hoping that + Show Spoiler +she'll get spared based on the whole Ains feeling for their friendship or w/e. Guess in a way, she was spared. Being killed is much nice than being experimented on after all.

You don't think she could've helped her sisters while working for Fluder? Or any number of jobs that didn't revolve around stealing, killing and robbing people, monsters and demi-humans.
She became a worker to earn money quick because she's short-sighted and spent years concluding that she couldn't support both herself, her sisters AND her parents. Instead of just coming to that conclusion faster without having to be little more than a mercenary doing unlawful shit. You do realize she's probably killed people just because she was hired to do so, right? There's a reason why they specify that workers are distinctively different from adventurers.
I don't think i can justify robbing and murdering people because she had some cute sisters when she had other options she willingly abandoned. I find it a bit weird that you seemingly can.
Edit: You do realize it's not like her or her family was starving right? They lived in a big house with servants and still ate good food on the daily. They were in huge debt, sure, but arche didn't really have any 'noble cause' that justified the unlawful shit she has done and was doing.

Let's just say the anime didn't exactly show that and I did not think of it that way. If she robbed or murdered people that's obviously going too far. If it's killing monsterns and grave robbery I'm more fine with that, as they said they assume the dungeon (Nazarik) to be at least 400 years old iirc? And yeah they still had a good life but she wanted to stop her parents from spending so much money, didn't she? So that's half of her point. Her parents clung to that life despite not being able to afford it and thus potentially ruining her sisters life.

Her parents clung to that life despite not being able to afford it and thus potentially ruining her sisters life. The anime specifically points out that workers are different from adventurers and do more lawless jobs. Killing monsters and raiding abandoned dungeons/tombs is something you'd hire an adventurer to do normally(In this case they hired workers since they were trespassing into another kingdom to do it), however since Arche and friends are workers this means that they aren't just slightly gruffier adventurers, they're mercenaries for hire. This includes being hired to kill and rob people too. Workers are hired to do jobs that a law-abiding adventurer would not do. Obviously they can refuse jobs, but they seemed perfectly happy to rob this tomb. Again, you have to remember that they were there to steal from the tomb without knowing who owned it, who it belonged to or anything related to it. Obviously they also didn't care about this, they assumed it was abandoned but it might not have been.
I mean what if that tomb had belonged to someone still alive? That it was their family tomb? Arche and friends would've still robbed whoever that person was happily.
Arche wasn't struggling to survive with robbing people being the only way to feed herself and her sisters from day to day. So i don't see how her actions can be justified as being noble.

In that case the anime did a poor job of describing that destinction, seeing as both BigFan and me didn't pick up on that lol. Or maybe we're both slow on the uptake.
I understood it as Adventurers just not being a thing in that city for whatever kind of reason and Workers basicly being the same as Adventurers. Like, just as an example, for some reason the emperor doesn't like adventurer's so there's some massive tax on any job an adventurer does so noone signs up as an adventurer and this "worker" thing evolved out of the need to evade that situation while being the same thing in everything but name. That's at least how I looked at it and didn't think of her as someone who robs or murders people.

Adventurers are definitely a thing in the empire: + Show Spoiler + From when ainz was walking around in the city
Arche's team even talks about personally knowing all the famous adventurers in their own city.
Edit: more: + Show Spoiler +

I took that as "there is an adventurer's guild but noone's using it because everyone's a worker instead in this town. But let's check it out anyways to see for ourselves"

My thoughts are the same as Toad though to be fair, I wasn't focusing heavily on the whole worker vs adventurer bit.

You didn't really pay attention then is all i can say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's an extremely common fantasy trope. Anyone doing "adventurer work" but not in the guild implies shady stuff. At the very least, they tend to be rogues.
+ Show Spoiler +Anyway, I thought this arc was pretty meh. The outcome was always clear, but what I really take issue with is the way it was presented. They try to sell the terror and all that, but it doesn't really work. The lack of quality and boring direction just kills the atmosphere.
I didn't care about Arche's death because her sob story is pointless. I mean seriously, she got introduced 1-2 episodes ago. Even the lizards had better characterization. Call me callous, but I just don't give a shit about anyone outside of Nazarick, and I don't even care that much about them.
And maybe this one's just me, but most of the deaths and whatnot felt more comedic than depraved.

The answers to the questions that come up are satisfying but the way they are presented are mostly kind of random. Like, why would you hold back some information for so long when you then just create a random character or meeting out of nowhere that tells you everything at face value? Seems to me they had some cool ideas but botched the adaption into a story. Well, I'm still interested to see with what kind of ending they came up. I watched it three years ago and don't remember anything, but apparently I hated it because I gave it a 4/10. I do recall thinking that the last half kinda sucked ass though.

A lot of acclaimed series in the late 90's and early 20's need to be fed through a filter of "Evangelion just came out and pseudo-philosophy and fake-religious subtext is all the rage."
Wolf's Rain is very much a series that fits into that.
I remember it was fairly good emotionally and atmospherically, but the story was wacky.
Edit: It's also a BONES series, which means you have to dial up the "weird story" expectations up another notch.

I don't remember it much other than I just lost interest past the half way point.

Lawful+good as well as Lawful+evil Paladin is fine, but chaotic Paladin is weird as shit.

He's a cleric. Not a paladin.
Also as ainz said, he was gonna do some experiments to see if the cleric's magic was really related to a god. + Show Spoiler +It works just fine no matter what god ainz manipulates his memory to think exists.

Jesus fucking christ how the hell is the second season of Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu rated substantially more highly than the first?
|
First of all ratings mean fuckall Second of all, because most people that weren't interested in season 2 didn't watch it and as such didn't rate it, leaving primarily only people who care and are more likely to rate it higher watching season 2
