Frieren - peak anime. Eminence in Shadow - amazeballs. Dead Mount Death Play - another amazing show, the more information we get, the more mysterious it gets. Shield Hero - entering kinda meh territory. Kingdoms of Ruin - really got me hooked, but will have to wait and see further (MC could definitely have been done better). Goblin Slayer - it's fine but not as grimdark as before so can't rate it as highly. JJK - pretty damn good. Ancient Magus' Bride - amazing. Shangri La - very good. Berserk of Gluttony - OK but nothing special. Undead Unluck - one of the best shows this season. Pluto - halfway through it and loving it.

Yeah, Frieren is continuing to be pretty decent and Pluto is great so far (half-way through).

After getting blessed by stuff like JJK, Eminence in Shadow and Frieren seeing those scenes consisting of a few still frames and mostly people talking is not very exciting. I guess all their animation budget went into the quill effects...

Eminence is great so far. Daigo/seijo is Good aswell. Frieren is a notch above them all though. Such a great show so far, easily a AOTY contender

I don't feel like I got anything substantial that improved the story at all in the final 2 seasons plus the finale. Cut that to the first half of s1.

Sure, you can just watch it for pure unadulterated fun and amazing action scenes but it also has quite a lot of substance. It's pretty innovative in that the main OP protag is a catalyst for some things but he mostly just does his own thing and creates some chaos, the real interesting stuff is happening in the background. I really love the attention to detail in this show, how clever the writing is and how dark and deep some of the stories and characters can go. Like in the S02E06, a brief conversation between the sisters where they barely exchange 2 sentences actually carries so much weight and shows so much character development it's actually insane. Obviously it's not just with words, those are important but how they chose to animate specific moments, character behavior in those moments etc. I think it's a real pity that most people won't even look past the superfluous stupid action part of this show and will focus only on fights and comedy, without ever realizing how well crafted this entire thing actually is. And with every passing episode it just keeps getting better. This might be the best isekai in some time (it's better than Re: Zero, Shield Hero and Moushoku Tensei for sure).

I also just had a look at MAL and saw that Frieren apparently is the hype train this season. #5 lol. I mean yeah, it's decent. But not more. The characters and story-telling are fairly bland thus far.
