My current thinking is to wait for the DVD/BluRay releases of anime since I am a whore for quality. However, this means that I would most likely have to wait for half a year to a year until I can get a series that I like. If I were to get TV releases I would most likely delete them to get the eventual DVD/BluRay release. I'm leaning towards just waiting for the series to come out in a better quality since I'm really in no rush of watching a particular series. So I wanted to have other people's opinions on downloading anime. If you were to have a bandwidth cap, would you download series right as they come out episode for episode, or just get a whole batch when better quality is released? If you really care about the quality, then you should definitely get the anime in a batch when it comes out. Just look for 720p or h.264 in the torrent names.

A lot of the newer shows are being broadcast in true 720p now anyways, so if you want you can start watching them now if you really want to. But like you said, if you're really in no rush to watch any series, definitely wait for the BluRay batches. Just make sure you aren't downloading from a subgroup that releases upscales (which are lower quality videos with their resolution increased) so you don't waste your bandwidth cap. oh yeah and that conan video is just badass hahahaha

+ Show Spoiler + what the hell is a NEET? This series is really good/interesting so far. Highly recommend I don't know how the series is going to end in just 11 episodes. There are so many questions/plot holes to be answered still..

NEET is an acronym for the government classification for people currently "Not in Employment, Education or Training". Worthless people to society that is. And yeah, it ended quite abruptly, I believe there will be two movies to somehow make up for that.

Index suffered from the fact that they happily hacked out a good half of the light novel contents to make it all fit, otherwise the reading is quite enjoyable. IMO its worth it to wait until the entire series is out so that you can totally emerse yourself in the anime and truely enjoy it for what it is.
