Cheerio should have been a word without all the unnecessary unpleasant baggage and all this haircutting. *sigh* don't they know both were perfect with that kind of hair.
i was gonna rate it 8/10 but PRINCESS HITEI FUCKING WON .. so it may or may not have been the reason the score raised ..
and i personally like the Shikizaki and Yasuri ending just like the foretold beginning where Shikizaki and Yasuri were close .. i find it cute

No one won wtf. Togame achieved her goal but didn't get what she desired. Hitei fulfilled her ancesored will but lost her friends doing it. Yasuri finally found out there's more to life than being a weapon but lost the girl who showed him that.
Dammit goody you gonna make me cry just thinking about it.

I was so sure that Shichika was going to chop her head like what happened to Togame's father. Good thing it didn't happen.
I consider being alive and she doesn't look like she is living terrible after TS so i consider that as winning. Although Yasuri didn't exactly win but he is doing whatever he is doing and he seems happy(or at least fine) with it.
So she fucking won in my standards.
The show has a lot of meat and i really appreciate that.
Yes i agree with Numy, Akame is a 'lol wtf' type of shounen to me, iirc i started to read terraformars and Brynhildr at the same time so i treat them the same, all of them are some 'for the lolz' shounen(-ish) manga.
They are nice if you like shounen-ish manga and you like some different elements in it compared to the usual mainstream shounen. At least the writer(s) are trying to put in something different which is always a welcome

If you want read something for cooking, Oishinbo and Cooking Papa are the way to go. I learned so much shit from those lol
Everyone lost, no winners, still a great story. The boss rush at the end was amazing though.
I think the only real problem i had was how a lot of characters were kind of introduced and then killed just as fast, this is mostly in regards to the maniwani though. Some of them i would've liked to see more of to be honest.
Definitely in my top 5, the art definitely helps, i loved the artstyle.
I forgot to mention that that Katanagatari OST's are doing so much work . Hypes the fuck out of me.
Whenever Shichika and Togame are alone together .This one hypes me the fuck out. And i just realized the lyrics is not "hello lady" but "You gotta lay back" . Lol
Princess Hitei perspective whenever she is alone or just with her loyal servant. This one particularly gives me the shivers .
OMG whenever this one is out i can't take out my eyes of the screen. Everything just so sexy with this one.

Think you give Akame too much credit. When the "bad' people are so comically bad it's hard to say the show is trying to be morally gray. It's a fighter shounen that tries to be a bit edgy but fails hard at it. People should just accept it for what it is instead of trying to make it sound all morally gray.
Huh, the Jaegers aren't comically bad.
The doctor guy was hilarious. Then you got Justice bitch who is epicly funny. Esdeath just wants to watch the world burn. Only "not comically bad" guys were Bols/BetterAkame/Tatsumiclone. Even then Bols getup was trying it's best to create false image of himself for no real reason other then playing into the whole "don't judge a book by it's cover" idiom. I wouldn't even call the Jaegers the "bad" guys, there are merely hired help. Looking at the actual bad guys of the story you get all the nobles(that minister guy that is always eating meat wtf) and wealthy people who the show goes to great lengths show how evil they are.
The show isn't gray at all. It reminds me more of Robin Hood honestly. Akame's whole "this is the right thing to do that's why I left" really gives me Robin Hood vibes.
Early efforts at painting the night raid as doing necessary evil for a greater cause failed pretty quickly because for whatever reason everyone they kill is evil. Well, whatever at that, just a bit of waste of time that didn't look like it was gonna pan out. So next we use Jaegars and put it with a mix of evil, crazy people and people with common sense. To at least make the enemy side comparable to protagonists and pave road to people switching sides as necessary. That's mostly a thing as long as Tatsumiclone and Kurome are alive, too bad it didn't actually go anywhere either because I guess someone is trying too hard to avoid cliche situations. Now oops, everything is just people with a greater purpose beating down on bads.
The idea to make gray zones is there, the execution just never panned out because...idk. Easier to introduce new baddies and kill them I suppose. That leaves us with the current dismal state of the manga. But hey, at least at this point in time they kinda tried to avoid it from being like that. Kinda.
Honestly I think Akame was never trying to be gray from what I've seen of the anime and the small parts I've read in the manga. It starts you off with a very clear picture of "these people are evil". You get some rich young family poisoning people with deadly diseases and torture for no other reason than they can. It may have been different if say one of the families children had a deadly disease and they were doing medical on these people with no attachments to the world to try save them. That's something that is both "bad" but at the same time something that as a writer you can make the audience feel for the "bad" person. Then we get introduced to Night Raid who convince Tatsumi to help kill this family.
Night Raids introduction basically has nothing painting them as bad aside from people saying they bad and them killing people. All the people they kill are people that their "badness" is shoved down your face. It's pretty hard to see them as anything but good guys doing good things. They even part of a resistance movement so it's not like they just doing it for themselves. A more neutral group in another shounen would be the Zoldyck family where they do it indiscriminately for money but take no pleasure in the action. I guess comparing HxH to Akame is rather unfavorable to Akame lol.
Akame ga Kill is just a typical shounen story where it's slightly more violent and set in a "darker" world. It was never a story trying to be gray. I think people just really wanted it to be that so they convinced themselves it was trying to be that. Even when it introduces more likable antagonists that seems more as a way to get you to care than trying to show two perspectives.
Trinity Seven ep 4 - Feels a bit boring honestly. Sure boobs and half naked girls are fun but if the story around them is shit then it just feels shit. Hopefully they pick it up soon.
I don't really think that being a part of a resistance means anything, being a part of something greater is just that. If we want to look at it cynically, it is just one more bullshit for the mangaka to pull later on if there needs to be some backstabbing done on protagonists. The early villains are also so comically bad that it is hard to see them as anything but an exaggeration to kickstart the story. Zoldycks are pretty standard far as portrayal of hitmen clans go though imo. Work is just work etc.
Eh just different kinds of cynicism here I think. I'd like to think that the original concept is more inspired than just shounen with dead people in it, which is kinda weak as a hook. The very fact that they made a Tatsumi clone to within Jaegars should've pointed to that direction too. No one can really expect just killing off new characters with standard good person working for evil empire thing to work as something to get people to care in itself, right? The idea is there. The execution never really comes through. To put that more succinctly, shit was too bad to be just a simple shounen story rather than a botched attempt of trying to be something more.
In the end maybe the only hook was Esdeath and everything else was just random shit thrown in on the spot with no one thinking about anything. That's pretty likely too.

You can say that's why Nishio wrote the Maniwa thing after Katanagatari aired. Alternatively someone just wanted more money.

I fucking lost it when the cat died at the end. I have 3 cats (2 im not that attached to, but the 1 is my freaking baby) and this is like the shit i have nightmares about. So fucking sad
Yeah that shit gets to me too. Fucking Rurumo last season, and now this.
Nice one. We finally found out the truth about the Chaikas, although it is no surprise at all. Still some progress. Feels like the dragoon girl will have to save them, or at least that's what i'd expect as she should be the stongest amongst them.
This week's Gundam Build Fighters episode demonstrates how SD Gundams can be awesome too. Hopefully the Winning Gundam will be just as cool as the ones this week. And hopefully it also transforms into a giant fist, like how I think it will.

I'm having flashbacks to Yankee-kun, wherein nothing fucking happened and we got a billion arcs of worthlessness.
