Not true, considering I know for a fact that /m/ had large threads dedicated to Xros Wars when it was airing (meaning that it has had a following), but this new season is not the 1st, nor the 3rd, so why do people here care about it all the sudden?

Because it's a direct sequel to the first season (or I guess second?) with like a 5 year timeskip or something, and probably with writing targeted at the nostalgia demographic.

Oh wow this I did not know. I might actually watch it now for the nostalgia. Probably have to watch the first season again, don't think I ever actually saw all of it anyways.

Omg, finally a Sekirei update.

Going to be awkward watching it with japanese VA's instead of Dutch ones all of a sudden.

Though I think I was like 8 or something when I last saw so maybe it won't bother me.

On the plus side for any North Americans, I'm pretty sure most of the original English VA's are still in the business (except the lead's...).

It's probably more like cause it's kinda like the official sequel for the first season which most probably watched by everyone when they are young/kid.
actually fuck this i'm watching it .. for childhood giggling sake

Is it really nostalgia if its more all of you apparently live under a rock? Its like you guys somehow realized "hey, a new Digimon show is coming out, I watched that as a kid!", when new Digimon shows have been coming out for years. It would be like getting nostalgic over Gundam when a new Gundam show gets announced.
And btw goody, they already had a official sequel to the first season. Spoilers it was the second season. Which then had the official sequel that was the third season.

I don't know about others, but I only ever cared about the original cast. Once they introduced new characters, I lost interest. So the nostalgia is about the cast and less so about Digimon itself. It would be a bit more like if you only ever cared about the original Gundam series' cast and had zero interest in every AU series, and then getting excited again about Origin.

I wonder how Digimon was popular enough to still be going....wasn't it a just a cheap knock-off of Pokemon? Weird.
|
But what if The Origin anime isn't actually an adaption of the manga, and uses shitty CGI mecha? Impossible for me to get hyped about it.

It's nostalgia because they're going back to the original characters etc and not some spinoff series which have been coming out since Digimon Tamers.
People are getting hyped over Gundam Origins (you were hyped over G Reco), but there's new Gundam series all the time. Why? Because they're going back to UC timeline? Because Tomino is directing again? Same reason why others are liking this new season of Digimon. They're going back to the original characters people grew up watching.

If you think anyone is/was hyped over The Origin or G Reko for nostalgia, you are insane. Why couldn't you have a good answer like Kaze?

I didn't say anything about being hyped over Origin/G Reko for "nostalgia". I specifically said the reasons, the UC timeline, and the director doing the show.
I essentially said the same thing Kaze said. "People are liking the new Digimon because it's going back to original characters, similar to how a Gundam series is going back to the original UC timeline, or original director."
