It's just that the good korean nonIdol rap groups haven't done anything in a while. I want epik high and leessang to come back. That together with the amount of idol groups makes it primarily idol music but yeah. Don't have to listen to music you don't like. There is a kindie subreddit.

... Not really feeling the I.O.I song... The MV concept is like a bad mix between SNSD Into the New World / After School Virgin/Bang or something I dont even know... Song Im sure can grow on me if I keep listening but all the Produce101 songs that they had as a weekly concept were better than this one.

@parkufarku This is the Korean Music Discusssion thread. Anything and everything having to do with Korean music gets discussed here. If it feels too KPOP centered then you can go ahead and start talking about K-Rap and K-Indie Rock and people will join in if they feel like having a discussion. But don't go criticizing everyone else for loving KPOP the way they do.

Not quite sure how one goes about hiding in a direct response right beneath the relevant post, but alright, I guess I can sort of see how close proximity might be so overt it's covert. That pretty much goes without saying and probably should go without saying given that you posted a Hyuna song. The member of an idol group in charge of "rap" who at times very much mimics the delivery of rappers that write the things that come out her mouth. Despite it being a statement that has no need being stated, it does nothing to counter the point that the Illionaire collective has received far more attention through Jay Park's brand recognition and Beenzino's talent than Dok "The Concert Over Estimator" Ee. And unless the post was all in my mind, which it often turns out to be. I had linked Lucite Tokki's latest track with its totally freaky ass music video, with 900mb mov source. Yet, you don't see me kicking up a fuss over a lack of k-indie. Also, feel free to come play the "M-m-muh K-Indie" martyr card only after you match a miniscule content dump like : Subsection 2 - Tangentially related But really. For reals. For really reals. Dat Min Chae tho.

I think I might go since flight tickets are dirt cheap at like 300€ but problem is I don't really have anyone to go with and booking a hotel is super expensive. If anyone here went how did you do with living? I checked out Couchsurfing and doesn't seem that bad. Just a quick search and I found 2000 pages of people willing to host. Not sure if you are supposed to pay your hosts or whatever but for sure cheaper than a hotel. My vacation will start week 26 so 27:th of June... Anyway if anyone wanna go together, watch some Kpop stuff and explore some then hit me up! 28 year old normal male if that matters ^_^ Maybe we can organize a KMD meetup if there is enough interest, still like 2 months away so plenty of time to plan!

I've never found any tickets that are less than €600 (all costs inclusive, round trip). I always stayed at a hostel while I was in Korea; cheap and even if you go alone, there are people to hang out with. I never couchsurfed or did anything K-Pop related while I was in Korea, so I can't help you with those things :/ Even if this doesn't work out, just go. You won't regret it I might be interested to go, but I'm currently saving money for a more 'permanent' trip to Korea... probably moving by the end of this year, or somewhere next year. Yeah 300€ for a one way ticket sorry maybe I should've specified it better. It's like an 18-20 hour travel time if you go for the cheapest tickets. Like 2-3 plane switches. If you decide you wanna go let me know I don't really care which date I go but probably wanna stay a week at least. I might even make a detour to Japan as well. How do you plan on making a living while in Korea? Sounds like the dream!

They are also pretty cheap (€14/night for shared dorm). When I went one of the people I met came with me to watch some SC2 and the group picks from the Broodwar tournament. And general hanging out doing non-kpop/SC2/etc stuff like visiting places and drinking. For non music show/random event stuff, tickets are expensive as hell. I went to see T-ara, Ailee/Eric Benet and Psy, and tickets for each were like >€60, which I bought in advance from Interpark. http://ticket.interpark.com/Global/Index.asp?Kind=01003
