I feel the need to re-quote this (now kinda historic in hindsight) post from Ret in this thread

I can't remember which loss it was posted after (I think it was just after TSL or one of the worse MLGs), but it was a really bad loss and probably the lowest point in his SC2 career.
And ever since that post, I felt he was getting better and better in every game he played and now grown back into the player we have seen today.
Killer determination. <3

The reps from the finals are not up yet but I updated the OP with the link to all the other games!

We are the parents and after reading all these comments we believe that our son has a very special talent. We are very proud. Congratulations, Jos.

How far has eSports come when we have the players parents posting on TeamLiquid.
Fantastic stuff. Congrats on your sons success!
Also congrats on raising a real nerd baller. (if you need to, ask Jos what this means )

Hello Mr. and Mrs. de Kroon. Did you watch the matches live? Did you watch together? With other people? Any champagne?
Very curious
(If you watched the games, do you think it has potential to have such tournaments broadcasted on Dutch television? i.e. ESPORTS Y/N?)

Weird. Ret seems to have the biggest performance swings ever, just a few months ago I thought he was far from the top (again), but then comes his MLG performance and now this...
The other top players always talk of his "potential," glad to see he's finally bringing it out. Shame I haven't watched the matches yet, will do so once I can.
Grats on the win, Ret!

Glad to see ret has supportive parents . I'm almost positive my parents would not have been happy with me going to korea twice and becoming a pro gamer, so kudos to you.
Grats on the win ret! I was pulling so hard for you to smash those Korean terrans at MLG and it looks like you're really close to it. Hope you find some suitable practice partners now that some of those terrans are on foreign teams (hi puma, rain).

That's Ret for you. He's been doing this since BW.
Anyway, grats Jos! You truly deserve it! Keep going and rule the world!

It was posted after Copenhagen open when he got knockout in the group stage by lets say not so good players..
And I remember i told him just forget it and move on and well look like he did:D
big gz to you Ret

Yeah, Copenhagen, that was it! I was looking through TLPD and couldn't find any disheartening loss, so I was weirded out a bit since I do remember him posting on the same day that he lost.
