Broodwar was a game of mechanics, SC2 is game of pure luck. Yeah this is what i do, it's exactly the way i think. I just choose not to respond to it as i know that SC2 is a game where cheese pays off to such huge value, the likes of "ladder scrub x" can take games/series off top pros. Dont forget sc2 is relatively young. When the game becomes established like bw I think ladder scrubs won't win as much anymore I very much hope so >.< I do see a slight shift in this in terms of the KESPA pro's after the what just coming up to 1 year of practice on SC2 are now (imo) the players to beat in any tournament they enter now. Top 3 players of each race for me are 3 KESPA players right now. I do hope they continue to dominate Why would anyone hope this? You do realize that if the skill gap continues to grow, there is a high chance of the scene dying outside KR just like it did in BW?

No BW player ever exceeded a 75% WR (for long). Which means everyone, Flash, JD etc... always had more than 1 game lost for 3 wins. In other words they weren't any BW gods, only successful players hyped to death.

People are so boring..
Sc2 is from 2010.. we are now following and playing this game for 3 years and people still bring up BW?
It's free to play.. why don't you play it? Why doesn't he play it? Why are you still watching and following the SC2 scene if it's so cheesy, rewards bad play and only the koreans know how to do it?
Fuck why is there basketball outside the nba? Any football tournament besides World cup, champions league and Premier league? Any tennis tournament besides the big four.. etc. etc..
People like competition and everybodys follows what they like and admire.. if you think this sucks, just leave it !

But like everybody in sc scene, they fall off slightly from their peak form

Top players back then had a FUCKING SEVENTY FIVE PERCENT WR. Don't de-hype that.
What that means is in a BO5, it is ridiculously hard to beat them. Yes they'd drop 1 in 4 games, but that doesnt matter in a BO3, BO5, or the more popular for finals BO7. The longer the series the harder it was to beat them. If you look at the series winrates for top players, it became higher than their chance to win per game.

Flash holds the longest winning streak for both TvT (22 wins) and TvP (13 wins) in rated KeSPA matches Flash had a 12 game win streak in TvZ games, spanning from the start of Round 1 of the 09-10 Proleague until partway through Round 2. His streak was broken by Hyun in a Proleague match between MBCGame HERO and KT Rolster.
Lee Jae Dong has a first record on the longest winning streak in the MSL — 11 wins, he got into the finals without a singel lose!!! Lee Jae Dong was very strong on Katrina going a combined 19–3 across all versions of the map with all 3 losses coming at the hands of Lee Yong Ho (Flash).
over hyped?

Actually, no. Top players back then didn't have a "fucking seventy five percent war". JD never exceeded 70%, Bisu hit 74% one year but he was at 63% the one's before, which is less than 2 games win per game lost. Only Flash hit 75% 3 consecutive years (2009-2012). Besides, basic probability is the reason why the longer the serie is, the less likely it is for a lesser player to beat someone's better. It has nothing to do with any BW particularism.
My point isn't that these players weren't (among) the best players in the last era of Starcraft 1, l'm merely pointing out the facts, the amount of games they lost, which seem to indicate that they weren't über-god cheese proofed that wouldn't lose a single game and whose dominance would be miles above the ones of MVP, Nestea, MC, Rain, Life, and now maybe Innovation and Flash once again.

Higher skill ceiling != Better players.
This is a logical fallacy and a silly argument.

This is a logical fallacy and a silly argument. Yeah I don't think its necessarily about the skill ceiling, which is incredibly hard to reach in SC2 as well. The thing that people always argue about has more to do with how much influence randomness has on the game.
