The same is true of the way Tyler used the phrase "I could care less", although clearly in a different manner. Like he said, it's actually used like a warning or threat, not at all as some description you hold to be true.

"I couldn't care less" or "I could care less" mean about the same thing. they're both idioms for meaning you don't care about something. "I could care less" in english usage means something along the lines of "I could hardly care less". You would never hear someone say "I could care less" and literally mean they care about something but could in some measurable way care less. As is often the case when discussing english idioms or colloquialisms people get too hung up on the literal meaning. Just because you can break something down into a literal meaning does not make your interpretation correct! That's language for you. It's like if you say "give me a couple of minutes" or "hand me a couple of skittles" you're LITERALLY asking for two minutes or two skittles, that's what "a couple" means. Tyler gave correct literal definitions but incorrect interpretations. One other point after watching the video, it makes no sense to say someone cares about something just because they took the effort to say "I couldn't care less". Nor is it normal to simply ignore somebody if you truly don't care. For example: Person A: "Hey man, what do you think about Penguins?" Person B: *silence* Why the silence? Because the person being addressed didn't care at all about Penguins, so by Tyler's logic they shouldn't even need to address the question because they would have to care about Penguins at least somewhat in order to respond. The problem is unless person B says they don't care then person A can't know if person B actually cares or not, so something MUST be said by person B expressing they don't care only so that person A can be aware. The other point Tyler makes is that if you don't care about something you would always choose "I don't care" over "I couldn't care less" because "I couldn't care less" is so much wordier and therefor you must have cared enough to choose that phrase hence you care about whatever is being discussed. No. While "I couldn't care less" is indeed wordier it is also more authoritative and forceful, you say it when you want to put your foot down a little harder and say "I don't care and I would rather not discuss it." Having emotion and feelings in what you say doesn't mean you care about the subject of conversation, it means your human and what you care about is having other people understand you. If someone's talking to me about penguins and I say "I don't care" or "I couldn't care less" and the person still isn't getting it and bugging me about why don't I care, I can get annoyed or angry and repeat myself with more emotion, but don't confuse that emotion for me having some level of care for penguins. If I have any care it's to get my opinion across. Nothing more, nothing less.

Anyone know where there are some recent vods/replays from Tyler playing PvZ? I wanna compare my transitions from his opening to his own ones these days so i can update the 2 gate expand thread. www.twitch.tv/liquidtyler Just search for some PvZ's in one of the Vods there. He almost always goes 2 gate expand vs zerg.

It is interesting and I am aware that it has stemmed from twitter, but were the responses really that bad for him to have to make a video about it? I think the type of people who would major in philosophy tend to enjoy these types of discussions, just for the fun of it. You can see that he is often smiling as he is making his argument, he probably couldn't care less about harshness of any twitter replies.

Too bad it pretty much ruins my schedule every day since I drop everything I do if I noticed you've streamed. Same. If I don't have the time to watch right then, I catch up on the VoDs later! Really loving how his play is becoming more and more refined. He's been taking a lot of games off high NA GM players and I believe (hopefully) him playing more will really get him improved for WCS @ Raleigh, which I plan to see you take NonY! Keep up the amazing work!
