It's not about poor word choice, at least among the people who aren't stupid. This is a private matter between Tyler and his manager (who didn't give him the information in a timely manner). A week to play a game is standard, and I'm sure Tyler agreed to that when he agreed to play in the tournament. Maybe writing "word choice" wasn't the best way to say what I was trying to say. People are very willing to discuss/criticize Tyler's behavior, but are not discussing how tournament managers can prevent issues like these in the future. Especially since this is the Nony Fanclub, and as a fan, I am upset that I don't get to follow Nony in this tournament. The main concerns that came to me after seeing the situation were: Can Nony be placed back into the tournament? Is there even a chance of that? And if not how can this situation be avoided in the future? Will Nony be compensated? I'm not trying to tell people they are being ridiculous for wanting to talk drama. We all know TL.net loves drama. I just can't believe other fans aren't sharing/voicing the same concerns I immediately felt.
I don't mean to be a jerk, but have you ever run a tournament? A week to play a game is standard, as is giving information to managers. That's now NASL does it. Mind you, NASL also is willing to reschedule if both players agree to that, but GSL's schedule might be too tight to allow for that.
At the end of the day as I've posted like 6 times, the fault is not with Tyler for missing his match, that's his manager's fault. I like Tyler a lot, so don't get me wrong. I'm not shit talking him. This is really uncharacteristic so I think he's drunk, but this lashing out is immature and reflects badly on him and TL.
As for whether Nony will be placed back.. depends. Maybe. It's up to GSL. He missed his match and that's not their fault, so if they work around this, that's them being manner but it is not required.
Let me put it this way. A player thinks their GSL Code S match is on a wednesday, but it's actually on monday. They don't show up. What happens? Well, they probably get forfeited. Or, GSL is nice and reschedules.

Nobody knows the situation, man. People tend to exaggerate and leave out details when they're emotionally fired up. It's not their fault, it's just the way it is. NonY hasn't presented himself as an unbiased, factual source on the matter the same way that IdrA doesn't present himself as an unbiased, factual source on game balance immediately after he loses to a Protoss.
I love NonY - I named my first bong the Chilltoss after him (which is a big deal) - but this is pretty ridiculous on his part.

This will easily happen with all the shit people say, and how they react wrongly to different episodes in the community. I am talking about the responds from the community, not what NonY did. Apparently drama has to be blown up, always.

6. THOU SHALL RESPECT FORUM VETERANS
All other things being equal, we will give preferential treatment to site members who have been with us longer (as reflected in their post count + length of time with us as a registered member). It's a simple recognition of the quality of these people. Longevity and contribution are prized commodities around here. In a similar vein, "known" pro/semi-pro players will also be treated with deference (yes, quite a few hang out here). Don't complain - these guys have earned it.
Remember: we ban little kids all the time because they sign on thinking they can say and do whatever they want to whomever they want right from the get-go - just like they're used to doing at other sites. That attitude won't work here. That's a promise. As far as new users are concerned (i.e. anyone with less than 1000 or so quality posts to their name), this site is Holy Ground. The veterans are the users who've consistently shown respect to the site and to others and that's why they're still here. Show them some respect.
In practice, this policy means a user who has thousands of posts may be able to get away with a few minor transgressions in etiquette with just a warning. If you're at 50 posts and you try the same kind of stunt, then we may just ban you. Harsh? Yes. Unfair? Most definitely. But that's the way life is. Learn to live with it.
This also means you should think twice before calling that guy with 5000+ posts a jackass. If the guy's been with us that long, chances are YOU'RE the one being an idiot. Some battles are just not worth fighting - just move on.
I mean it's really disgusting that the premiere StarCraft community is this blatantly biased, but since most of the community participates in the massive circle-jerk, I don't think many people actually care.

All I want is nony to play in a major tournament. Hope this gets resolved. Definitely one of my favourite players. Try not to let the bum you out as shitty as this is :/

Im a bit confused at what diamond has to do with this... aside from his tweet at nony.

Just Diamond getting involved in everything and being an ass as per usual.

Tough break Tyler Don't worry man, your real fans still love and support you. Just keep training and we can wait a little longer to see you compete!
This thread is for supporting Tyler, lets just relax and stop pointing fingers until the dust settles and all the information is out there.

No offense taken. I don't see how I should take offense from you just given more information. However it doesn't seem like Nony was removed for missing a game. According to his post it seems like he was removed because he wanted to play outside of the given time period. Whether or not there was a back and forth or if they simply removed him we don't know. I'm not even sure we can blame the manager. A manager is pretty powerless if there is no dialogue between the two parties.

This is the kind of stuff I was expecting to see and is more or less reflective of how I feel (minus the boycotting, I think we don't know enough details to put the blame on anyone). I just can't believe other people aren't experiencing strong enough feelings to post stuff like this, and only feel strongly enough to post about how Nony chose to deal with the situation.

Respecting/giving better treatment to people who have been around longer then you is bad? The rule makes sense it's like calling your grand parents who are 80 years old stupid when they probably know more than you unless they've gone senile of course(doesn't apply here but you get the point)

diamond thinks of himself a bit too higly from my experience and likes to taunt on twitter, as he did with me too before. nony should not have been in this tournament anyway if those polls werent a popularity contest and people actually voted for the "best possible team" to play in this qualifier, so it's better this way.

If he didn't belong in the tournament then it shouldn't bother you because he probably won't win, but people love tyler and want to see him play. don't disrespect him in his fan club though, go on twitter or something and voice your opinion to people who actually want to hear it.

Maybe it is an elaborate performance piece, e.g. "I'm not here."
