Kas has long been considered one of the absolute best non-Korean Terran players and his results support this. With over 60% in all matchups on his TLPD and a list of results that stretches from his house to mine, he’s considered a favourite over most players he encounters. Some of his more notable results include a win in the Spring 2012 Copenhagen Games, a third place in TSL 3, and a third place in the 2012 WCG finals where it took Mvp to finally take him down.
Kas is best known as a remarkably solid macro player. Often playing Triple Orbital openings, he plays for the late game where he knows his strong macro will often allow him to take the game.
Sign me up! That guy is a total beast. Can't remember in how many weekly online tournament he played, but this guy also got an insane amount of ladder/custom games in 1st Saison.
First saw this guy when there was a ROOT vs Empire clan battle. He has definitely been one of my favorite terran ever since. I love how dominantly he plays. I really look forward him to blowing people up in the TSL!
As always, count me in. This Guy might just be the most hard working player there is (outside of Korea) and utterly deserves à fanclub for his amazing performances!
Glad to see Kas finally get the attention he deserves. Not really a fan mainly cause I'm a Protoss but still impressed by his play yesterday, fucking awesome work. If you're a Terran, go chear for this guy because he's probably the best one living outside of Korea. (No offense if you read this Bennie, your arm was broken you don't count. )
Best terran in Europe by far, completing the ukrainian wonder trio - 1 player per each race. And he deserves to be just as famous as White-Ra and Dimaga are, sign me in :}
This quote from his TSL R16 interview should be somewhere in the OP imo
"I am a player that plays his game, not playing an opponent specifically. From practice games and experience, I learn more and more about how to read what my opponent is doing, what I need to win the game despite what he is doing to try to kill me. It is very hard to explain in words, it is like a painting where everything starts with one small detail and as more and more information is gathered a full picture is formed."
That's Kas in a nutshell, such dedication to practice and improvement that he knows what he should be doing in almost any given situation, and with a little hint of the poetic too xD
Updated! Thanks to fAiryqt for providing pictures and whatnot. Copenhagen games start in about 2 and a half hours. Kas will be playing there! Be sure to support him guys.
Such a beast. Even though his decision making is godly, his consistency is my favorite thing. It's so nice to see a player who will always be playing an amazing game.
Although, he is a very talented, smart player and always produces good quality games. Russian speaking community for some reason doesn't like him. I dunno why, I also saw some of his posts that he cannot understand it either.
But anyway, I've already became his fan. He is the total opposite of one-trick pony, always ready, for anything, good control and mechanics.
Kas is my favorite and has been since i first checked him out in Nov 2010. Horribly great macro wins him games and has helped me get a grip of Terroran in sc2 sign me up for the fan club! (=D) plz
Sign me up plz Really enjoyed that interview of him on you tube from that recent LAN even in EU, seems like a super gm guy and his play is just awesome to watch!
Congratulations to Kas for winning the Go4SC2 cup today; was great fun casting the final best of five and some very impressive play from both yourself and Slider.
Gotta love that work ethic! <3 Only person with more games is SaSe lol. It's great to see guys like Kas, Sase, Happy, TLO, Nerchio, Darkforce etc. play this much. It shows you they take there job very seriously compared to other people *cough* Idra *cough*

Idk but that would be sick. I'm sure he would do well!

its ladder, most professional gamers dont care about ladder for a good reason

Lol, ladder is pretty good practice since you're playing vs. top players anyway. A lot of the pros we have now were "ladder stars" but didn't go to any tournaments. This just shows he plays a lot, and this isn't even counting custom games. A lot of NA pros said they don't even practice very much, so I think it is good to see someone actually practicing.
Amasing play against Idra Kas. Game one was so impressive. Holy macro and game 2 was brilliant mindgames hehe. Now get you nerves sorted and you will start winning big lans.

Kas beasting it up at WCG! I hope he doesn't choke when he has to play MVP on the mainstage. If he stays calm and plays his best, he might have a chance.

Get well soon, Kas.
please say that's not true, kas would have had a good chance to win Kiev
Congratulations Kas ! You played really really well. I knew this for quite a while but finally after TSL this is the first tournament where the whole world could see what are you capable!

He's around spot #140 in GM, because he didn't ladder the last few days (obviously).

He's not laddering recently for obvious reasons. He will get to top 10 when he gets home, no worries. Probably top 1.

Actually he's rank 12 right now. http://sc2ranks.com/ranks/eu He plays on "Mikelangelo" now and he's been offracing a lot on his empirekas account.
Heh I hope Kas goes to Korea, he puts a lot of time in the practice and has right attitude towards game. I think he will benefit a lot if he goes...Hope it happens
Hello ! Thanks to heyoka and p4NDemik, I managed to steal authorship of this thread ! Original OP was banned since forever so it hasn't been updated. After I eat lunch I'll make sure the member list is up to date and then I'll pretty up the OP as soon as possible. :D
I just stole the Beastyqt Fanclub as well for the same reasons, make sure to support Kas' fellow Empire Terran over there !
For my first day of OP here, Kas is beasting it up in TakeTV Invitational ! Just finished polishing off Ret 3-1 with his trademark ridiculous macro and advanced to the Losers Finals where he'll be playing Grubby in a Bo5 (pretty sure).
If When he wins that, he'll be up against Stephano in Grand Finals. Go watch him !
Kas made it to the finals with 3-1 over Grubby. Unfortunately for him, the other finalist was Stephano who you'll note doesnt lose Starcraft 2 games. On the bright side, as second place, he totally wins a chair !
Just posted this in the Stephano fanclub aswell. They've been playing eachother all night and in between the heavy macro they switch it up a bit with some smacktalk Everything is friendly though
Ok he made ToD rage and claim Terran was imbalanced 2 times, you have to sign me up, its long overdue. Such a practice monster, I only hope he can shop up at more tournaments. We really need good foreign terrans because im getting sick to death of all the ZvP/PvP/ZvZ bullshit that is the European scene.
Kas beat Nerchio, Creator, fraer, and Brat_OK to win an online tournament called the RSL, he's getting no love for that so I thought I'd bump his fanclub.
It was $4k for first place, not a small weekly cup or anything.
Sign me up! Hoping for great well prepared (no over the top technical all in kr style please, those things have a habit of going disastrously wrong) games in TSL4 =)
Kas fan for life, watched some of his games streaming today, holy crap lol. Now I know why this guy got 3rd last TSL, and I expect him to do at least as well this time around!
YESSSSS N1 KAS!!! 48 hours without sleep, still beating Ret like a boss! Kas is such a monster and I'm very happy he won that despite the terrible shape he's in!
Sick win considering his lack of sleeping !!! Congratz man ! I think he was able to win because of the amount of games he plays per day, I mean when you play that much macro is like breathing you doesn't have to think about it to be able to do it
On August 03 2012 05:39 Zackeva wrote: Was there any explanation given as to why he hasn't slept for that long? It seems like more than your usual jetlag sleep deprivation. : S
From his twitter;
Mykhailo Gaida @Empire_Kas On the way to finland,in kiev after 8hours non-sleep travel in bus,but nothink cant stop me to go on one of my favorite tournament assembly!
Mykhailo Gaida @Empire_Kas my flight from kiev to moscow delayed, so i missed my moscow-helsinki flight...... now need to go to copenhagen then to helsinki
Mykhailo Gaida @Empire_Kas so 1 more night without sleep before tour, second in a row (( some course on me
Mykhailo Gaida @Empire_Kas i come to hotel like 4-5 AM after 2 night without sleep, for play tour at that day, sounds nice right? not best way to play my best on tour
Eventhough i was rooting for Ret, mad props for getting through today Kas! Such a beast.
I just saw his stats after he lost 0-3 to Suppy, nice that he still managed to advance, even more considering he was 2 (?!) nights without sleep, holy, I don't want to know how he felt after his final match.

I knew Kas was a ladder hero but only a while ago did I find out about the over 13 thousand games. Respect for being an oldschool hands-on grassroots ladder gosu.
Watching IEM against MC right now, previous games were great too.

In what tourny was that ? Like to see that. When on his A-Game he is such a treat too watch. I remember tsl like it was yesterday where he outmacrod Nada so hard, who back then was solid code s class. Or when he played Catz and he went his troll macro mode, where he just expos all over the map and didnt even bother to siege his tanks just rolling him over, while Catz was getting all cute burrowing infestors and stuff.

RSL Vods can be found in the tourney thread have fun! Wish Kas would stream more often
I absolutely love your casting kas... you seem like such a nice guy in general, always happy, always kind to everyone. Very inspirational. And this comes from a zerg player. ^^
