Hey guys! I was just listening to some State of The Game and I realized how much JP has done for the community! Now, I have to be honest, I never knew about JP until State of The Game, but then I got so intrigued, that I decided to look into some of the work he's done!
Some information on JP:
State of The Game - He, along with the other 3 pillars, Tyler Wasieleski, Dan "Artosis" Stemkoski, Sean "Day[9]" Plott, Dan "Artosis" Stemkoski, and Geoff "InControl" Robinson discuss how Starcraft is going, and their thoughts of the direction Starcraft 2 is going in. This show normally lasts for approximately 2 hours, and happens at 11PM EST every Tuesday.
SC Report - JP McDaniel along with Patrick "Chobopeon" O'Neil host SC Center which is a 15 minute show informing the community on what is going on in the World of Starcraft 2. This show occurs every weekday of the week (Monday - Friday) at I believe 5pm EST. - Unknown whether or not whether it will come back.
Formspring Day - JP answers questions sent to his formspring (www.formspring/itmejp) and uploads the answers online on his youtube channel, so go ASK HIM QUESTIONS!
Bueller - The new dog JP got that we all know and love! <3 (I'll get a better picture when I can find one in one of his episodes)
JP McDaniel (itmeJP) - MLG - He works full time for MLG now and is an amazing person! In MLG 2011 Dallas, he was a caster along with djWHEAT, and Day9.
JP "moog1e" is the reason I'm here making this post. I had already stopped playing WoW but was still an avid listener of his podcast: Arenacast. Its first episode airing at the end of July, 2008. In ways, Arenacast has laid the foundation for the podcast we all know and love: State of the Game. As JP talked on Arenacast about playing Starcraft 2 Beta, TeamLiquid and that he was getting up a new podcast I came here to check it out. I wanted to listen to that podcast. For weeks it was the only thread I watched, I was oblivious to the rest of the site. The first time listening gave me a warm feeling inside, it was a new game, a new community, a new experience and I knew it was gonna be awesome. Eventually I managed to get a beta invite and slowly but surely I found myself pulled in deeper week after week until the beta went down. But that was not without it's upsides. It was during that downtime that I finally made a plunge in discovering the heritage and legacy that is Broodwar. Watching Roffles stream was the first time I saw a whole new Korean culture that instantly sparked my interest and has since.
Keep on keeping on JP McDanielson, all the content you are putting out is top notch and your dedication is solid as a rock.
Sign me up, I've enjoyed following JP from the King of the Beta Hill series on. Oh and "a Hot Girl" is Rachel "Seltzer" Quirico who does great work for CSN and has a lot of progaming experience herself.
I first heard you glorious casting powers during MLG's first few broadcasts of SC2 and I immediately knew I was a fan. I thought it was cool to see someone in the SC community being named JP cause that the name my mother gave me too lol.
Keep on casting like you do and keep on doing SOTG I watch it religiously. Please don't get raptured btw.
Sign me up also, JP is the one who got me into esports!!!
I used to follow competitive WoW and when I started playing sc2 I actually searched google for a SC2 podcast because I had listened to his arena cast. then I found state of the game lol when they were doing this episode lol
Excellent as the host of SOTG. I feel like he does well in the role of the host-- adequately spreading out the conversation amongst the speakers and carrying things along when they get bogged down in one topic. I haven't checked him out in other media beyond a little bit of casting that I've heard but maybe I should.
Sign me up. I'm such a fan of his I watch sc center even though I already know everything that happened. And I don't think I even have to mention how great of a show SOTG is.
Sign me up. I remember when I used to play wow arena, and mlg had JP come over to cast games with uhhhh vhell? I think? He kept calling Uck Huk, but he knew what was going on more than the random asian guy they pulled off the street for the other mlg events.
Finally a JP fanclub! I love everything he does. Used to listen to ArenaCast when it was new, which introduced me to competative WoW arena, which in turn introduced me to the entire e-sport scene. Ever since I've been a huge e-sport fan, watching way more than I play, even games I never play, like Quake, CS and War3.
Definately sign me up. I love the stuff JP does for the community in terms of different shows and i think his commentary is great. One of my favorite casters for sure.!
JP deserves some more attention. Sign me up! He is probably the best podcast host out there. I don't know if there is much competition though. SOTG is awesome and the only guy who isn't replaceable there is JP.
Big fan of JP, been following SotG since the beta, and his stream makes me happy, I even leave it on in the background sometimes because he plays good music (I realize I could just run the same Pandora channel he is, but whatever). Also that fanart banner is pretty amazing, never saw it until now.
Argg no one commented yet since MLG Anaheim ended?
First I would like to say that I am really impressed by your coverage during this event; you always had the right words and professional touch! I can say that that's some delightful improvement since last MLG (Columbus). You are getting the hang of being MC, keep it up!
I never played SC2, still don't, but I follow JP McDaniel from the Arenacast days, and Sotg is a very enjoyable show even for somebody that doesn't play the game.
JP is an underrated character in the SC2 community and he showed us during the NA B.net invitational that he has great knowledge of the game with very good castingability. =) Hope you and Day9 get together more as a casting duo!
By the by, keep streaming and I will keep tuning in.
Sign me up. I don't think i've missed a sotg podcast since the 15th or so. Love love the show so much. And also the work he does for MLG and eSports is just amazing. We wouldn't be here without him
Also, Am i the only one who occasionally gets him mixed up with djWHEAT, and whos on what show? Ofc i know they are different when i see them, but the names of the shows etc :D hah
Ohhh man I love JP he has keept me entertained for hours on end with SOTG and not to mention I was able to satiate my Skyrim urges with his awesome skills. So nice to see people as awesome and fun as him in the community. LONG LIVE SOTG & JP! :D
Considering that this thread hasn't been dusted off in awhile I wanted to say how much i appreciate you JP. You are the fucking man, you do so much for all of us. SotG, all the MLG stuffs, and your kickass streaming of random games. Even if it was only one of those things I would be your fan. Thankfully that isn't the case, since you do it all anyways! :D
So please understand that despite all the haters out there you still have fans we are just quiet.
Edit: Grats on masters (despite being really late :p)
Hi! How's JP's fan club going? So I was looking for a .gif from the youtube video "The Build" where JP loses his mind laughing at zillion void rays and Day[9] tries to say "keep it together JP" while also dying from laughter. Since I didn't find such .gif, I made one:
I have to bump this thread, because I need to express my love for this guy. SOTG was awesome, and RollPlay is the best D&D show I've ever listened to. JP, you're a hero!
