Lost 1-2. Played very well in all three games. Now needs to play Forgg or Sage. Terrible luck. He would have beaten Ganzi, but he misread Ganzi's build, suicided his army, and then had to play catch up the whole game. Had some great ideas and punished Ganzi a bunch of times with flanks, drops, etc., but Ganzi had the extra base. The loss to Leenock was just Leenock knowing that the hellions were coming, stopping them, and then smashing Polt's timing. Polt plays tonight in Group A of the new season of AoL. Has to play MVP, Curious, MC and Line. If he plays like he did tonight, he has a good shot of beating everyone except maybe MVP. If Ganzi had just made a banshee in the Winner's Match, Polt would have won and gotten out of the group 2-0. Now he must face Forgg more than likely. Will be amazingly sick, though. Also this means Polt streaming more!

Thought he played amazingly in game 1 vs Leenock, some of the best raw macro I've seen from him and loved the build in general. Nice use of drops and as always awesome bio control. Felt he played better than Ganzi almost the whole game long but the crucial misread early on just left him unable to overcome the sheer numbers he was constantly fighting against. The second Leenock game I think Leenock just played pretty damn well; made some really heavy investment into lings + tech before actually getting his third up and once he killed the first major push off with a nice flank it was always going to be hard for Polt. Maybe should have just taken a quicker third again and not gone for the 2 base timing. Oh well! From what I've seen of ForGG I still don't think he's anything more than just another good Terran, but perhaps his BW experience will shine through more when it comes to having planned builds and executing well under pressure. TBH I'd be more worried about Sage winning, his PvT has looked pretty scary and from watching his stream a lot lately it feels like Polt has more problems with Toss than the other match ups.

Just a misread in GanZi's build and Leenock just destroying his hellion-based play demotes him to Code A. fOrGG or Sage is tough but if Sage beats fOrGG, we all know what will happen. Polt just doesn't lose TvP..... + Show Spoiler + Except to Killer

I'd prefer him to take on fOrGG.

Perfect timing attack, great macro and destroyed Leenock. 2nd game - Misread Ganzi's initial build. Thought Ganzi went banshees, so he rushed his marine force into the natural to snipe the mules and SCV's. He did, but then found out Ganzi didn't make banshees and instead made two tanks. Polt's army got cleaned up, and he played from behind for 25 minutes. For the position he was in, he played it as best as anyone really could. Great timing attacks, drops, flanks, and nifty little tactics to try and get the supplies close, but Ganzi finally ran over him by having the economic advantage and being able to push out units. 3rd game - Went standard hellion opening into expansion. Leenock saw it coming from miles away, defended the hellions, and then sandwiched Polt's timing attack. After that, Polt had no chance since Leenock was able to expand even more, get more drones, and deny any expansion with mutas, lings, etc. All in all, Polt actually played at an insanely high level. He played probably his best games in GSL history in terms of multitasking and growing as a player. If he doesn't lose his marine force early in the Ganzi game, he probably wins the game. He got hard countered and was able to prolong the game long enough that he was even able to tie up supply for a little while before Ganzi's extra base ended things. It sucks that he couldn't advance, but I think he showed that he is becoming more than just the guy who can micro really well. His macro has improved tremendously, and he has a bright future if he continues practicing. Going 1-1 against Leenock, who has the best ZvT in the world ELO wise, is nothing to feel bad about. Even Artosis was praising how great Polt played and how impressed he was, and Artosis HATED Polt's style in previous tournaments. The amount of love Tastosis gave Polt was crazy.

I also like how his camera is on the whole a lot less jerky than many other good players are imo.

The prize is $10,000 and the offline final eight is next week if he can get top two. Let's all hope he can crush. His TvZ looked great last night, and Curious/Line are not close to Leenock in that match-up.

Hopefully TSL sends him to Providence so he can have some important games before his Code A game against Forgg/Sage in three weeks.

And yea, nothing to noteworthy in any of the games, just standard games, except I love watching Polt v MC, it's one of my fave things to watch just cause his games v MC were the reason I started following Polt! I think the Curious games were really unlucky, he lost his pushes without doing much and was just behind from there Oh well, now he can train for Code A and go slay some nerds! Would love to see him at Providence, by the sound of the interview after Orlando he really wants to go so I'm hoping TSL can afford to send him over

SEND HIM TO PROVIDENCE! He is pretty highly ranked due to being 10th last time and would probably get an easier draw in the open bracket. He needs to get some serious games in or go to some foreign tournament before having to face ForGG or Sage.

I still can't believe he won against MC. I would have assumed his TvP is still being refined.
