Well spoken, noble one
Damn, Polt is making me jump out of my seat when he plays :/

That confirms what everyone here knew: running into fOrGG was unfortunate.

Polt went 3-1 in group and then fell in the tiebreaks to get third. He should have won the second game against MMA as well, but he screwed up a flank that would have probably closed the game. He played really well, though.
Tonight he takes on MVP in probably the toughest match he could have asked for.

It'll depend on the maps, if there is no more than 1 mech map he has a decent chance imo, he's just so good at Marine/Tank (it's depressing how easy it is when he engages, and when I play... my marines die instantly :D). If Mvp goes mech on a map not that good for it it should be good too, his bio is still scary.
Just don't be greedy on the turrets Polt '-_-

C'mon Polt ! (neeeeeeeeeeeeed a TSL jacket!)

Fionns prediction was correct... 1-3 for Polt.
He showed a really good marine/tank game on Bel'Shir though, with a lot of fine details which were impressive.
The interesting thing with Polt is that he has a unique style that isn't flawless atm. Ever since he joined TSL he has improved his macro mechanics while still sustaining his micro skills. It will be nice to see how Polt will improve his game style and with it, his tourney results.
Polt fighting! We love your game play!

Polt played awesomely tonight even in a loss to the best player in the world. Lost G1 to a failed Thor rush and didn't play well in G2, but ran over MVP in G3 with marine/tank and pushed MVP to the limit in G4 with bio/sky army. MVP just had too many vikings at the end.

I'll have to buy the pass to see the last two games, fuck exams '-_-
I don't think he could have won with the map pool, 3 mech-friendly map was a big drawback. If he manages to fix his early game against 1-rax FE into tech, he'll be dominant again in TvT for sure.

in the first 2 matches he clearly was very nervous about playing MVP. he looks always confident, he didn't quite look so before those matches. not saying it to make an excuse, but it certainly had an effect on his play. the last 2 matches showed that he can put up a good fight vs the terran king.
i wish he could dominate the scene just as he does on ladder. not like he is a walkover for anybody, but his fate is to forever be under appreciated.

Polts Up and Down group (15/12)
Group C 21st December TSLPolt oGsInCa IMLosira StarTaleVirus LiquidZenio
A pretty good group from what I can tell. Most of the players aren't performing as well as earlier (InCa and Losira) so I think he has a pretty decent chance of getting top two. Depends on who the last player is (six players in the other groups) and how well Zenio performs. If Polt can play as well as he did against NesTea I think he has a good chance against Losira and Zenio, as he has a relatively weak winning percentage against zerg.
How's Virus TvT btw? I know Boxer 2-0'd him with his pressure build, but it doesn't really tell how his main game is.
Edit: Just checked the Up/Down Thread, Group C will inly be a five player group, which is really good for Polt's chances to get out of the group!
However, perhaps people will still underestimate him because of it?

The weak winning percentage is deceiving since it covers the entirety of his GSL career, but Polt was never great across his career. The Polt we know and love begins from January of this year. Recently he's lost to Leenock and DRG; there's no shame in that.
InCa will be trouble in the late-game, but Polt wins his TvPs in the mid-game. I do think Inca can make it out his group though, so Polt should be wary.
Zenio is not close to Polt's level.
Virus is okay. Every once in a while he makes very good decisions, but for the most part he looks like a typical bread-and-butter Korean Terran.

Looking at Polt's recent TvTs, I consider him favored against Virus. Losira could be a problem. InCa and Zenio will probably lose to one of Polt's sick timings. Overall, good chance of seeing Polt in Code S next season :D
