I wonder if this will have an effect on sponsorships...EG.Coke on the horizon? + Show Spoiler + Coke already distributes Monster Energy, so it might not change much on the consumer end.

Multiply each win with 150 $ and you got a nice amount of won money. And reaching the regional finals is an achievment in itself additionaly with both Machine and Incontrol beating pretty good Koreans/amerikoreans

For EG right now, here's what I think about their team members (note, this is assuming they are paid a decent salary): Lzgamer: I've heard his name mentioned quite a bit, but I have no idea what he looks like. He doesn't have any good results and I don't understand why he is even in the team to begin with. DEFINITELY DROP. Machine: He has been in the team long enough to expect some performances above where he is currently at. He has some exposure from being in commercials, but really, I feel like a lot of people could be equally appealing as him in such contexts. He is a nice guy so dropping him would feel bad, but I don't think he is worth having on the team. PROBABLY DROP. JYP: JYP suffers from the boring Korean syndrome. He was bought when he was a real rising star, but since joining EG he has been fairly mediocre. PROBABLY DROP. Puma: Like JYP, Puma suffers from the boring Korean syndrome, and was bought as a rising star. However, unlike JYP, he has managed to scrape together good results while playing for EG. I feel like EG enjoy being able to bring up Puma's results so as to make each tournament where the rest of the team does shit not seem so bad. PROBABLY KEEP. Huk: I think at the time Huk was acquired he was probably considered the best foreigner? His signing was appropriate at the time, but since then I feel like Huk has been a very bad team member, not necessarily in terms of performance (although he has clearly dropped off in that regard) but he doesn't seem to have the team spirit. I think he misses Liquid too much. That said, he has a large following and a good personality. PROBABLY KEEP (but decrease his pay or something) Demuslim: Demuslim has a good following and stream presence, and seems well suited to the team environment. Demuslim benefits from the fact that there are not many other good foreigner Terrans who could take his place, especially from NA or the UK. I may be somewhat biased here because I play Terran and he is one of my favourite players/streamers. DEFINITELY KEEP. Idra: Although he is no longer the player he used to be, he is still pretty decent in terms of the foreigner scene. But that doesn't matter. He is clearly one of, if not the most prominent foreigner player because of his personality and his love-to-hate qualities. He also appears on shows which is good, and does a good job promoting his sponsors. This is a no-brainer. DEFINITELY KEEP. Incontrol: Again, another no-brainer. He is a prominent community figure because he is an excellent showman. His poor results don't matter. In fact, he could give up playing SC2 professionally altogether and his value to EG would still be astronomical as a community figure / caster / team coach / manager. DEFINITELY KEEP. Thorzain : Newly acquired, so obviously keep. But more than that, he is easily one of the top 3 foreign Terrans over a long time so his signing on that basis alone is warranted. But even more still, he has tournament results under his belt. He has a large following and everyone seems to like him, so a really good signing here. DEFINITELY KEEP.

Machine's a great guy and a running gag with Idra, but that's not a good reason.

A bad day, a bad tournament, or a bad week. That can happen. To any team. I really wouldn't jump the bandwagon so easily and cast some of its own members under the bus because of it. A vast majority of foreigners results have plummeted since the introduction of so many Koreans at tournaments abroad. Results being shown from EG may not be stellar as of late but if you look at everything they're doing you can see improvements being made. I think they're making the right steps to getting better results for many people on the team and to be honest I'd rather support them then make ridiculous posts in their fan club. Watch each player more closely and you may see what we can see. Whether its the rather elusive Lzgamer to their Ace Puma you can see improvements in their play or mentality. Nothing against Lz, just harder to keep track of him when he doesn't live in the Lair and we don't see him on everyone's stream.

You should at least acknowledge that they have their own ways of quantifying player profitability, so they might know what they are doing. And then wording your own words very carefully.

And yeah, it is dickish to say "yeah, you should probably fire that guy from his job". They got 3 people in pool play in this mlg and Puma got Top 6. That was a nice performence from EG. I don't know why everyone has a 10 times higher expectetion for EG than the rest of the teams.I mean, look at other foreigner teams like TL. Nobody got in to pool play this mlg or the last 2 or in the ipl 4, yet nobody is really making a drama out of it. Or Complexity, they have Ganzi, who is sometimes decent, other times plays bad. Same goes for Heart, but the rest of their players aren't performing good. And still, they don't get pressured or anything from fans or someone else.

I think people feel this way because Puma was kind of poached. EG has a reputation for pouring money into players

I don't understand how the Puma "poach" has anything to do with that. so they should not pay their players?
