While half of EG's fans may have been brought to them by idra, I'm sure some of them can see that EG is doing more for the growth of the scene than idra and will continue to support them despite this move (I don't see why you couldn't remain fans of both sides). This could have been the best wakeup call EG could send idra, since nothing else was working.

I've always been a fan of EG. I can tell they are generally good caring managers that give a lot of leeway to their players and instead of making them work day and night they also give them a healthy balance of life and fun. It may not produce the tip top results but at least they treat their players like human beings and not robots. When Idra gets paid as much as he did, I can only imagine, after creating tension with his teammates like Demuslim and then still continuing that same attitude that they worked so hard to change for the better, what would you do in their shoes? Continue to shell out the kind of money they do for him when he makes them look like hypocrites. The situation really sucks in all honesty, but I don't blame EG for it.

Great work EG, a big step has been taken towards making eSports into a more professional and respect-worthy industry.

People keep mentioning that IdrA had a huge salary...anybody actually have a source for what it was? I'm curious to find out.

Fully supportive of EG's decision with Idra. I now support EG!

It is hard to remains supportive of both when they treated him like crap on his way out the door. The part of me that likes idra resents that on his behalf. It is a shame when any organization treats anyone that way.

Idra's reign in Starcraft universe has fallen, it's well known.

I'm not quite sure how they treated him like crap - they simply released him. It's not like they tried to sue him for money or slander his name to make him unhireable. In terms of being released suddenly, who knows how many warnings and discussions have gone on behind the scenes.

Not gonna lie, my respect for EG has increased tenfold after what happened. Keep fighting, guys

Absolutely, my respect for EG skyrocketed in much the same way it did when they entered the Proleague fray alongside TL.

I agree that releasing him was very sudden in a weird way, and I also feel like the particular comment he made wasn't bad enough to warrant releasing him. It's worth mentioning, though, that they will continue to support him financially for a transition period, as far as I've heard.

Before IdrA, EG didn't have a single winning player. IdrA gave them visibility and a name that sponsors would recognise. One forum post, and hes out the door. No suspension, no nothing. After he'd already moved to San Francisco to be part of the scene there with EG.
And what did IdrA really say? That fans don't care about winning, rather they care about starpower. Was he right or was he wrong?
Now EG is just Stephano, a few koreans that get all killed in proleague and some high priced, mid range westerners that never win anything either.
Always been a fan of EG, but this revolving door policy makes me sick. Who is next? Machine? HuK?

EG built themselves solely on Idra in the first years.
They literally have everything regarding their ''evil'' branding thanks to Idra.
How can I root for Evil Geniuses when they don't have their evil genius :/

ok guys it was funny you can quit the joke now and let idra come back.

I believe the problem was that he said f*** the fans. And that's a big problem because the whole esports scene is based on fan support. I am sure they asked him to apologize, but seeing as that is below IdrA's honor he probably refused to do it and they made him quit. Imo you can't get more professional than that.
