Trying his hands at broadcasting at the early age of 13, John "TotalBiscuit" Bain became of the biggest personalities in gaming-related content. With more than 900.000 subscribers on his main Youtube channel he's one of the most prominent members of The Game Station, delivering daily content on a variety of games and related topics. He's best known for high production value, his unique voice and arguing on the internet. After a long struggle with US immigration he could finally move to live with his family in 2012.
Starting early in the Beta with his own series "I suck at Starcraft 2" he has by now casted for almost every major tournament organization and became one of the favourite play-by-play casters. Advocating the combination of play-by-play/analytical caster duos from the beginning him and dAppolo became the favourite euopean casting archon before he moved to the US. He is the host of the self-funded "Shoutcraft Invitational" Tournament, with fans eagerly awaiting the next season.
2012 saw the opening of pro-gaming Team Axiom, owned and managed by his wife Genna, sponsored by TotalBiscuit and Husky.
Don't follow him as much as I used to when I was playing WoW avidly, but still think he's absolutely awesome Sign me up for sure, produces some of the best gaming content on the web
I agree with that guy from the first page, this is long overdue (lindsey sporrer and slayers_eve fanclubs were made before this one LOL). I've been enjoying TotalBiscuit's work for a long time now. Sign me up.
Sign me up! TB is such a great shoutcaster and i loved him in TL Attack with Sen
Hot_Bid:Hey sen, do you like beaches(almost pronounced like bitches) hot? TBstarts laughing* Hot_Bid: What? I just asked sen if he liked hot beaches(again, almost sounds like bitches)?
I donated to WC Radio back in the day and listened to Epic, Titan and BluePlz. I've been a TotalBiscuit fan for ages, and I'm glad to see him still producing such amazing content after all these years.
As a longtime fan, big admirer, and one of the main organizers of the Justin.tv Invitationals which we had the privilege of having him cast have to say this man deserves every bit of attention he gets Hopefully we'll have some more big events for him to get involved with soon enough...
Even though he might not be into SC2 that much by now he is trying to learn the game and improve. Also I love how he is trying to support esports with his SHOUTcraft Invitational to give it back to the players.
yeah i raged @ this guy a while ago in the SotG thread, felt so damn guilty after it. I ended up mssging him to apologize and he ws really nice about the entire thing even though i was like 99% wrong.
Sing me up, TB got me into this eSport, after I first started watching his work with the Cata beta I checked out his SC2 casting on his youtube channel and thought this was pretty cool.
He's my favourite caster and youtuber. His "WTF is?" series made me spend quite a lot of money and i didn't regret any of it. His stream is always entertaining to watch and even hosts his own tournament from the ad revenue. He won his first ever live casted showmatch and built BCs in half of the games. He has the highest non-functional APM on the planet. He invented the 2 BC + Yamato rush than i still use on my smurf if i'm in the mood to annoy my opponent. And he does it all while supporting his family.

I think it was back when DeMu was commentating something with (I think) D'Apollo, and he said some things. You proceeded to go on twitter and (not DIRECTLY @DeMu) and say things about what not to do when casting.

Evidence ? that's not really an argument, TB even went on to say why he doesn't like Idra's casting and he had quite a few valid points.

read the title of the thread ask self, "Self, why am I reading this thread" follow to self, "Self, should I post in this thread" reflect to self, "No"
On Topic: Totalbiscuit is fun to watch and while he is not a determining factor (I wont watch every one of his casts) I am always happy to listen to him cast the matches I want to see.

The one thing I said is that you probably shouldn't say rape during a live broadcast. If you class that as "bashing Demuslim" then I don't know what to tell ya, that's a personal problem.

It may be, it may be not. Although I thought that there was more. It may be my fault, in that case I apologize.
Sign me up as well. So far I've mostly ignored fan clubs as most community personalities have a strong following anyway, but if anyone actually deserves fan clubs, it's the casters and people behind the scenes, and of those, TB is chief.
Be it the personal issues, be it the inexplicable amount of hate he receives from people that neither understand nor tolerate his style of casting or the staggering amount of people ignoring the fact that this man is trained and good at what he's doing - all of these things he has to cope with, yet he keeps his head high and delivers high-end community content regardless. And this isn't limited to StarCraft; his game reviews made me buy multiple games.
I love his style, his excitement and his humor, and apart from the godlike Tastosis, he's usually my first choice of casting/streams when he's listed on the side bar.
Sign me up! All of his youtube videos are a joy to watch. Thanks to his newbie friendly, yet energetic and extremely enjoyable commentary I manage to pull my father in to watch a StarCraft match once in a while.
The most naturally talented caster in the scene at the moment, I work in TV and TB is capable of working outside of the gaming scene in broadcast media.
Just wanted to stop by and say keep up the good work TB, all the suggestions that I sent you a while back have been improved upon and your Invitationals are brilliant.
Also intelligent free thinking people, who actually know about broadcasting couldnt care less what bigmouth gobshites from the US say in interviews about you. Especially when the only thing they are even remotely impressive at is self-publicity.
A guy who can make loading bars seem exciting, gets 69 kills with two battlecruisers at around 10 minutes, and runs ads only so that he can make awesome tournaments deserves to be the one who's fanclub is the first I ever join. Long live Totalbiscuit.
Sign me up please. This man manages to entertain me with almost everything he does on his youtube channel. loved his shoutcraft in the beta and still love it.
I want to point out that for a very long time TB's been a big part of the competitive WoW community sort of a guideline to a lot of people who played WoW at high levels. Kind of the opposite of what he is here in the SC2 community (a simple, entry level commentator). It was because of him that I got into competitive gaming in general, and for that I thank him.

for as much hate as tb gets from people, i do have to say that from a purely objective standpoint he is the best commentator when it comes to covering action in multiple locations,
he has the highest words per minute and the casting multitask
I really don't understand why people don't like TB. He isn't saying that he is the replacement for Day9 or anything. He works his ass off to cast games to get people into SC2 and other games, and he does it pretty darn well. I always enjoy listening to esports' gateway drug, especially when he joins other good casters.
I don't remember when I started watching his videos, but right now I know subscribing to his channel was one of the best decisions of my life. His casting is amazing as far as I care. Sign me up on this one.
Man I remember TB back in the days of WoW Radio and his Blu Plz show. I joined the EU side of their guild and he popped into vent a few times (pretty rarely), and I thought he was a pretty cool guy back then. I'm glad he's doing well for himself these days.

So not true. I'm diamond And it's not about the level of information that he shares. It's about how passionate he is.
Indeed. I'm diamond, too, and TBs stream is just the best stream available. + Show Spoiler +
...and he is the reason why i started battlecruiser rushing :p
His play is hilarious. He knows what he wants to do and has solid decision making... but he messes up everything on the way. - Building placement that blocks half of his units and makes his attack fail eventhough he would have had twice the units of his opponents. - Sending units somewhere and then being unable to every find them again eventhough he has them on the screen 3 times. - Getting scared and building 3 bunkers but then forgetting to ever put units in them. - Pulling SCVs off the line and then noticing 5 minutes later that he has 20 idle SCVs, sending them to the mineral line but misclicking and having them sit there until another 5 minutes later. - Constructing buildings in a way that they end up trapping the worker forever.
Tell me one stream where you can constantly see all of those things?
While it might not be a nice thing to say, it reminds me a lot of unintentional slapstick humor and the stream wouldn't be half as fun to watch if he would play perfectly.
Sorry, TB, but thats just the way it is. You are still my hero and i'm even a bigger fan of you than of TLO :p Keep flailing!
The ladder streaming is just pure win, but his commentating has come a long way since the beginning too. Definitely deserves more appreciation from the community for what he is doing for e-sports.
Wish TB could just enjoy playing SC2. He is so entertaining but also takes the game so serious. I always become sad when he gets ragey.
It's understandable though, he sees pros playing almost perfectly all the time and then he has to see his own play which just isn't pro level. It can make you really angry. Maybe he just needs some bronze/silver opponents he can roflstomp to make it fun for him and give him another perspective on his skill again?
I can understand TB's frustration with StarCraft 2 (i hope). I think thought it has less to do with the professional games and players he casts but more to do with his own ability. His knowledge of the game is really good and he's getting better the more he casts, he knows he has that ability in him to do a lot better then what he does but alas he just can't put it into practice and it's frustrating, it really is because there's a lot of emotion that goes into it as well and he sounds like he hates himself for being unable to do so. (Speaking a bit of my own personal experience from when i play SC2).
I honestly hope it's not the end of IS@SC2 because it has been an entertaining series so far, but like i said in the twitch.tv chat after the stream went off air, i think Mr. Biscuit is a throughly entertaining man and i'll be watching no matter what he streams because if his past work has anything to say about it, it should be great. I just hope, after the recent sickness and severe stress he seems to be under, that he cheers up.

Yes, his knowledge of the game is a lot better than what his mechanics allow him to show. He gets often flamed for his lack of game knowledge, but thats by people who only watched his early casts. He really improved while his mechanics stayed behind due to lack of practice. It's really frustrating, i know that from experience, too - I recently punched my table because i was doing stupid mistakes, the first time i ever did something out of rage since at least 10 years.
I then usually only play team monobattles for a few days or switch to my terran or protoss smurf and cheese everyone with a combined proxy-2gate cannon rush (only one of those at a time would be boring) or proxy-BCs :p
TotalBiscuit, we Fans stand behind you in whatever you decide to do. If you no longer want to play SC2, it's ok. Just stream something.
To be honest he should concentrate on make more scvs, raging cos you lost to someone with 5 saturated bases when you have barely one its rather unproductive.

We're thinking Early december. Things are really hard right now with so many tournaments for both myself, Apollo and the players in November, plus WCG in December shuts out several of our potential invites (including Socke) for an entire week.
Is there a way to get his playlist? I know the list of songs is on http://www.lastfm.pl/user/TotalBiscuit/tracks but it is last.fm, and there is no way to listen to them in an order (f.e. only last 50). I tried to download songs invidually, but many of them are sooo hard to find... Anyone knows some magic way to get the songs fast? God, I love that playlist... Totalbiscuit I'd love you so much if you'd find some way to share those songs.
Ok, gotta admit that he is surprising me in DH. Game knowledge aside, he is the only caster who has been casting all the two days along without a) pausing b) losing emphasys when describing battles or the flow of the game, not even once.
That GG-call in game 2 of Nightend-Puma was epic.. Korean commentator level of excitement - Just what I've been asking for from more foreign commentators - Thank you TB =)

This guy is a casting machine.
Seconded. Also I really liked the introductions of the players, which were a level ahead of the other casters introducing.
Not sure if it's an "European thing", but I also enjoyed that TB/Apollo did not hype the audience that much, asking for Cheers/claps all the time. If something is great, ppl will cheer - no need to hold up a "virtual applause sign" almost every time/joke just to get a response from the audience. Most probably a cultural thingie, but at least for me those great casts at DH are even more enjoyable in that way TB/A are handling this stuff.
So thanks alot for the good casts @DH, TotalBiscuit (&Apollo) *tips hat*
Also glad there were a lot of people waiting in line for the fan signing. TB deserves the appreciation, we're gonna need him as more and more people are drawn in without being masters-level players themselves.
Big fan of your youtube channel and the humor/energy that goes into your casting. Your humility never ceases to me amaze me in spite of some of the haters out there.
I'd like to humbly request you do a WTFree-is on Infantry Online if you deem it worthy. + Show Spoiler +
I remember seeing him play Protoss on his stream a few months ago. It was hilarious. "Hmm, need some Pylons" *builds 10 at once, blocks his own units and feigns anger because probes are lazy and just warp the buildings in and don't stay and construct like Terran units do*. He won the game with HT drops and out expanding his opponent. He's a good guy, and I really enjoy his work
Sign me up Wacthed all his vids for like a year, i played wow, TB showed me starcraft. I owe him a great debt. does anyone have a link for the video of totalbiscuit casting the building of a supply depot? i couldn't find it on his channel but i think it would make a nice addition to the OP.
Happy New Year! Mr Bain, and Thank you oh so much for what you have done for SC2 and gaming community this year! and for your charity also! All the best for the next year!
Does Biscuit play 40k? Pretty sure I just heard his voice do a pretty cool intro on the Australian war-gaming podcast Worlds End Radio about the Horus Heresy.
Totalbiscuit have you ever considered going to Korea and casting some GSL? Although I presume with the amount of content you usually put out it'd be rather difficult
I want to thank you for organizing the SHOUTcraft Invitationals as well as Showcraft and the Procraft series. This really helps ESPORTS and especially the pro's to earn some money.

I'm not interested in casting the GSL to be honest. This isn't my profession, I'm a part-time caster that does it for fun and honestly, the GSL has zero live-audience and audience interaction going on. I wouldn't have fun there and I don't need to advance my career in any respect. Plus hey, anyone that casts Code A gets shit on and the last thing I need is more of that.

I have a lot of interest in 40k but unless they knicked something of mine then that wasn't me.
I have been critical of you in the past in some threads but I've definitely changed my opinion in the last few months, much props to TB for being a great part of the community. I'm enjoying shoutcraft as I type this
On his twitter it was stated that at 18:00 EET an announcent would be made on Asus Rog Stream or sth along those lines.Has the announcement been made and if so what was it?
I just want to thank u because of Assembly winter 2012. I was there watching nearly every game and ur casting is amazing. I hope we can see you @Assembly 2012 summer also.
Such an awesome caster, even when you cast your online tournaments it feels like you are actually at an event watching it because of how exciting you make it.
Don't have a twitter to respond but I'm truly sad to hear our US gov is still fucking TB over, no visa no IPL4 as of right now. I hope this can be resolved for him as soon as possible, if not for IPL4 then for his family.
I was on CNN recently and I noticed a guy with the tag "CynicalBrit" making a string of anti-American comments (just your general "Americans are so stupid/ignorant/backwards") and even a few comments that bordered on anti-semetism. Some of them include...

"Typical ignorant American Islamophobe. If you had a brain you would be dangerous."
" Seems to me that the people on here making funny comments about people dying in a plane crash tells you all you need to know about Americans" (in all fairness, the guy was being a total asshole, however he never said he was American, and I don't think even if he did it gives totalbiscuit the right to bash all Americans)

"I hope the Queen hides the silver. You know what these thieving Americans are like ...."

"Being operated on without anesthetic ?? These people are braver than any US soldier in Afghanistan ...."

He's married to an American and lived there for a while (I think?) so I somehow doubt it's him. "CynicalBrit" is probably a pretty common tag, they are, after all, known for being cynical.

TBH, we need more info or SOME KIND of proof. Just coming in here with "I heard..." or "he said / she said" is just a waste of everybody's time.
Going by Totalbiscuits Twitter feed I'd be perfectly inclined to believe the statements came from him. He seems to be quite outspoken and / or unhappy in interviews / twitter and downright rude to his fans ( soon to be ex-fans ).
That said, his casting is a good play by play and I'm sure that if John gets his personal life in order he'll be a happy all round nice bloke.

Psst, TB didn't invent the idea of the British being cynical, it's a stereotype...

You seem to be attributing my reaction to your fanboi crap for Diablo 3 as "personal unhappiness". I'm perfectly happy, I just happen to think your statements are moronic. Remember this tweet?
@absalom86 @Totalbiscuit So you hate Diablo, and WoW. Why not drop SC2 as well and be done with Blizzard ?
What are you doing in my fanclub thread when you ask me to drop SC2 just because I don't happen to enjoy WoW or Diablo? Please tell me how that is not moronic. I love the incredulous leap of logic though. "Hey, he doesn't like my favorite videogame, I'd better go claim on TL that he's a racist islam-hating bigot!".
The fault here, is with you. I don't need "fans" like you.

Again, I think if you want to go quote digging you might as well have the part before that reply from me.
Totalbiscuit @absalom86 I couldn't give a shit about Diablo 3. If I want to play a Diablo game I'll play one by the guys who actually made Diablo
Totalbiscuit @absalom86 probably because I don't take the opinions of Blizzard fanbois seriously and don't need twitters help in making decisions
Absalom86 @Totalbiscuit So you are a Blizzard " fanboi " if you like Blizzard products ? I guess that means 95% of the gaming community.
Totalbiscuit @absalom86 95% of the gaming community is stupid? Sounds about right! Do run along now
This is basically you bashing Blizzard fans as being stupid.
I know you feel pretty to be witty on Twitter but I honestly think it hurts you more than it helps you, just a tip, didn't come here to argue with you, just an appeal.
Talked to you tons of times on Irc and trained you a bit through Ventrilo so I wanted to point it out to you, but you are free to leave it or take it.
PS : You are confusing your posters as well. Wasn't me posting those quotes by a " Cynicalbrit ".
Going by Totalbiscuits Twitter feed I'd be perfectly inclined to believe the statements came from him.
This was posted by you, today, in this thread. Did we forget? You are essentially saying you are perfectly inclined to believe I am a racist anti-islamic bigot. Please tell me why I'd take you seriously after that aye?
The problem is you don't even know what you're talking about. You got all offended after what I said about Diablo 3. How DARE I not care about Diablo 3! HERESY! Your argument following that was shallow and pedantic, you even suggested I quit SC2. What is wrong with you?
absolam86, calm down already. This is TB's fanclub, and you're trying to start a flamewar.
A person should be able to say what they want about any game, and TB is right more often then most. Also, TotalBisuit is good to his fans, and he's right. Why on earth would he go to CNN(yes, CNN) and make comments like that? Anyone can be CynicalBrit, and TBH I doubt that he would have registered an account on CNN(who does?).
Going by Totalbiscuits Twitter feed I'd be perfectly inclined to believe the statements came from him.

Well, I did not really think it came from you, especially when it was just some random CNN feed, It could even be one of the infamous trolls lurking around this community ( Just look at Destiny being DDOS'd and blackmailed ).
I've been following you for a couple of years on Twitter now and you often seem to say pretty bad things to your followers, bashing them for not liking what you like especially. I know it's pretty easy to hate for example World of Warcraft at times when you've played the game yourself.
Hating on Diablo 3 I don't understand too much, especially when promoting games that are essentially copies of it, and when the game has not been released past 1/4 of 1/4 of 1/4 of the total product.
The SC2 comment came after you called 95% of Blizzard fans idiots, and Starcraft is a Blizzard product... I was hoping it would make you realize that you are attacking the majority of your fanbase.
Again, I still like your commentating and I think you are the best play by play out there ( Could get even better if you ranked up a bit in 1v1's with some help from Apollo of the like ) and I hope you take this as constructive criticism.
Why would I take it as constructive criticism? You are an unbalanced Blizzard fanboi that got REALLY upset that I didn't like Diablo and decided the best course of action would be to post defamatory remarks instead. This is all in response I might add to me pointing out the factual, that Diablo 3 is not made by the same team that made Diablo 2 and in fact, most of the talent behind that team is now working at Runic on Torchlight 2.
Fanbois are idiots. You've proven that. I hate fanbois because they are utterly incapable of rational thought and tend to get incredibly emotional about their favorite videogames. They lash out in response, making baseless accusations and generally being unpleasant little nitwits.
This song is about you and people like you. Please note you also decided it would be a good idea to claim that I am "in it for the money" in the Cloud video podcast thread. You are not acting like a smart person right now, you are acting like a butthurt fanboi and much like my "ex-fans", who turn into the most vile of haters overnight when I say something they don't like.
talking bad about peoples favorite videogames .. the greatest rist a videogame commentator can take.. but it is good to do so, since criticism may result in advancement.
also: totalbiscuit, maybe you should stop arguing with those people on public forums or wherever else, nothing good will come out of it. they wont change theyr oppinion and those discussions arent nearly constructive. though, im not the best source for those advices (im a terrible idra fanboy, i admit )
absalom86, just stop it.
it is just sad to see new posts in t his fanclub and hope for some interesting news or whatever and see this
edit: btw, it is awesome to see the person the fanclub is dedicated to post in it.. it gives a.. good feeling, or whatever (wow, im creepy..)
I don't think you get enough brown nosing so I feel inclined to add some.
I really appreciate all the work you've put into your podcasts and YouTube videos. There are a lot of jerks that are jerks for the sake of being jerks; and you handle them better than I ever could. It sounds cheesy but I had a habit of reading all the hateful gibberish that's plastered all over the internet and after watching one of your podcasts where you brought it up I took your advice and stopped. If it wasn't for that I would probably be in a much worse-off place than I am today, and it'd most likely be under a stone with my name on it.
You're really an amazing guy and the things you had to go through for your wife and child are instances many people would be hard pressed to endure without leaving them behind. I don't know your wife but she's a very lucky person to have found you.
TB really cares about releasing high quality content, this combined with his humor is why i like him so much. I really enjoy your entertaining SC2 (shout)casting, too.
I just wanted to voice my appreciation in here. Sponsoring Crank personally to give him the chance to play MLG is really an outstanding move. You give a farely unknown player the chance to shine on one of the biggest stages, even paying out of your own pocket.
You sir, are a precious part of this community and I hope that you will stay for much longer. You get confronted with pure idiocy on this page pretty often and you still lead by example. Outstanding, simply outstanding.

Totalbiscuit @Totalbiscuit I wouldn't miss LoL if they got rid of it from MLG though, DOTA2 is clearly the better competitive title even if LoL is more fun casually
John Bain is a kind, generous and motivated individual. I've been proud to call him my husband for nearly five years. TotalBiscuit, on the other hand, can be a bit difficult to deal with.
TB is a much louder version of John who also tends to show up when he is sleeping. I love Starcraft 2 dearly but waking up to TB shouting "and Tarson holds!" in his sleep is a bit much. TotalBiscuit basically has no limit on his ego, stubborn nature or vocal volume. TB will also refuse to let John do anything until everyone stops being wrong on the internet.
Made me laugh.
Also, where is the Intricacy Fanclub? Everyone attributes all the good Cynical Brit stuff to TB when Genna does just as much for the ESPORTs behind the scenes.

I was very critical to TB's commentary when he first got into the scene, but I think he has improved a whole lot. Loving his current commentating with Apollo. Keep up the passion!
TB in general feel like a positive force in esport.
I am impressed by your progression as a SC2 caster TB. Never seen a caster grow before but I think you definitely have, one of my favorite to listen to these days.
Also great job with the team and the donation raise to ODEE, just awesome all around ^.^
Hey TotalBiscuit, kudos to your replies in the Dota 2 thread.
Nowadays it seems so many people are caster bashing and I'm glad you're great at rebutting them.
Honestly, it seems people taking their precious *little games too seriously and bringing everything down with their negativity. Again, one of the reasons I joined TL was because it seemed like a positive environment with funny jokes and things like that to keep the mood up.
*I'm an oldschool nerd for both Dota, and SC1. In fact, I remember putting up the SC1 tech tree (it came with the game, the tech tree was glossy-ish and durable and it was in color!) and taping it on to my wall to use it as a poster. Yep, been a true SC nerd before most I'd say.
I mean, who else taped the SC1 tech tree to their wall? I'm gosu and old school like that. In terms of Dota, I played in the Eul days (which were okay, I didn't play much of Eul's Dota; it was before "All Stars" were in the name), then I played in the Guinsoo days (much better, recipes!), then Icefrog days. (I have many old school stories about Dota to prove I was there since almost the beginning.)
So, I'm an old school gamer but despite that, I feel some people take their games way too seriously with their negative comments and excessive caster bashing. This happened towards Doa, this happened towards others too, people seriously take their game too seriously. Like if someone makes mistake or two (even if it's know they're casting an unfamiliar game), then it's a pitchfork party because this game is the best thing ever, and that anyone getting anything wrong deserves several insults or negative comments (which is silly IMO).
There is constructive feedback for casters and there's downright being overly negative and hateful towards casters, which is a bad attitude to have in any community IMO.
So TotalBiscuit, hope you keep doing what you keep doing and don't let any negative comments affect you.
"Flash the video format not the bloody Starcraft player. Everyone knows God can't die."
People complain that TB isn't as good at SC2 as other casters and therefore isn't qualified to cast it, but that doesn't matter that much (especially to people like me who have even less skill and knowledge, we can't tell the difference in knowledge between TB and Artosis) when he's such a good entertainer and a supporter of the SC2 scene.
how did i miss out this thread? tb is one of the best persons not just in esports or sc2 but in gaming overall, fighting for a better future in gaming. sign me up.
it boggles the mind to think that I hadn't signed up to TBs fan club yet.
Love Axiom. Love what he does for esports and gaming in general. Glad he is on the side of Starcraft because Id hate to be on the side of games he doesn't like.
Sign me up plz Such a great esports personality! By far the best play-by-play caster in the world(some korean casters might be better, however I have no idea, as I don't speak korean).
Thanks for the great casting with everybody this weekend! Thank you for your Youtube content (I watch a lot of spoilers and game conclusions because I can't afford anything new) and kudos for providing healthy attention for new games!
This is entirely possible. Also maybe people that get banned too much don't get one, though I think I've been clean for a while now
Haha, well that's a good sign! Less caring about the trolls and assholes is good! :D
Just came by to say it's awesome to see TB so active in the scene as a long time viewer, I can't remember exactly but I think your very first ShoutCraft got me into StarCraft II, and I'm still freaking obsessed.
Would you be interested in casting another Axiom in-house tournament, now that the people in the Axiom house have changed a little bit since the last one? I don't think Innovation, TheSTC or Impact where there before, and Miya is gone now, so...
He actually is attacking a lot of people in that entire reddit just for making comments that aren't 100% praise. Narcissist?
Ah, wonderful. Create and announce several tournaments and breathe new life into the NA scene; no comment. Argues with some guy on reddit; instant fanclub activity.
---------------------------
As for the question itself; I can obviously only speak for myself, but he usually doesn't come off as a douche, no. He can, by his own admission, be a bit of a jerk sometimes, but overall he just appears to have very little patience with people nitpicking on stuff like this. He's stated in the past that he would prefer not to have "fans" at all, but would rather just have people watch and enjoy his videos. Personally, I certainly don't always agree with his attitude and without passing judgement either way on this particular situation, some of his "fans" do have a tendency to be quick to point out any mistakes while also being self-entitled and expecting to be catered to with a friendly smile and a bow. Sometimes the way he communicates (especially on twitter a while back) rubs me the wrong way as well, but sometimes his frustration is understandable.
Heh, amusing that people would think that was douchey. I didn't say a single mean thing to him. The guy in a delicious swing of irony then claimed I was being defensive and followed up by calling me an "insufferable dimwit". Nobody is under attack as the poster claims.
So yeah safe to say we figured out what kind of person he was pretty quickly. He's not a fan. Fans don't insult the person they're a fan of, those are antifans. I don't think it's necessary to cater to antifans.
Also requesting the antifan activity be removed from the fanclub. The poster is obviously trying to start drama in here.

Actually TB was more right than he thought he was.
Morrow actually made a couple of Muta micro maps and even his own version of micro tournament in BW. So inadvertently you were more right than you thought xD

The success of my brand and business suggests otherwise
Hahaha true, but maybe you'd do 1% better if you wouldn't conduct yourself so aggressively on reddit, TL and other forums.
I don't even necessarily think you should "suck up" to your fans, just abandon this attitude where you need to get the last words in a heated argument, reading some of your arguments and actually having one with you sometime ago, it's obvious that you know that you most likely can't change that person's mind and that further arguing is in vain and nugatory, but you just don't stop bombarding that person with arguments until he has given up or until you think you've finally got your moral victory.
Note that I'm not saying that you are wrong when arguing with these people (This applies even to me getting into pointless arguments for no reason), but I think that its counterproductive and in your case stress indusive. It might temporarily help you vent some frustration, but in the long run it's ruining your psychical health and that also bleeds into your physical health.
So please just consider this, you've got an amazing job that you deserve and worked hard for, family and a lot of resonable fans who appreciate your work and are very unlike the vocal majority.
Hope you enjoy your vacation, some good metal and that you get these things out of your system during the trip. GL, HF
seems to me like some dumb "fan" was trying to pick a fight and got what he deserved. Nothing to see, move along. If anything bothers me about this is that TB even responds to trolls, but thats his business he knows better.
As usual you are doing phenomenal work. Thanks for this new Shoutcraft tournament
But please don't always try to argue with random people on the internet - you are better than that and I guess it will also be better for your health in the long run

Hey, TB, long time fan here (does 1.5 years+ of video watching count ? )
Read that post on your subreddit, its sad to see you're even getting that form of negativity on here as well, I hope for the best for you, mate. And best of lucks with your health, it was pretty heartbreaking to read the notes paragraph about hearthstone and about your physical health.
Also, I had this question in my mind thats been bothering me for a bit as a mmo player. I was going to post it on subreddit or TL but i'd much rather get your opinion on this: + Show Spoiler +
What do you think of free to play MMO games that restricts access to majority of content, only accessible by payments usually by cash? Do you think these are a better model than f2p or pay to play?
preface: I am not trying to offend you. And I genuinely am concerned.
If I may ask, what steps are you taking to fix your problems? What is your plan for treatment for your conditions? Do you think you can just 'dr phil' your problems away by telling yourself not to do them? Or do you think you need to address them more seriously by way of a professional?

But WTF is a dimwit ?
EDIT : Oh i just read what your wrote on reddit three days ago. It was heartbreaking to read. I really hope you're going to get better. Best of luck to you.
Well TB, what you are doing for SC2 on all fronts is just awesome, and when I needed a game review I've always resorted to yours, because I like how you do them and I've never been disappointed by a game you recommended. I also like your personality, and your videos are entertaining to me on top of being informative. I've always liked your sc2 casting, and what you brought to the casts. I know people that also watch your hearthstone videos, and would never dream of criticizing your mistakes and whatnot, just because they don't watch them to see good play but to be entertained, and they are.
So as I pretty much never read reddit and I don't use it, I thought I would try and hope to give you what little support I can here, as you seem to browse TL quite a lot. Because people of course have the right to not like you, but they should not have the right (or will for that matter) to shit on you in any way possible, and take advantage of the fact that you are the kind of guy that will argue with them and get affected by what they say to push you to these ends.
You should feel rewarded for all the great things you do and the content you provide, but I suppose that the larger your public is, the larger the vocal toxic group grows and the harder it is to ignore them or to hear the other part of your public over them. So even though I'm not a fanboy per say, I thought it would be a good thing to express the appreciation I (and some of my friends for that matter) have for the things you do anyway. You are a great guy. Hope you'll get better, even though I know what bothers you will never end, because it is the way many people are on the internet.
Hey TB. I saw your video about you health on youtube.
I want to let you know that I'm really looking forward to new content, because I love your honest 'reviews' (yeah, i know you hate that word). But make no mistake. Take the time you need. No need to push yourself over the limit.
I wish you the very best in your recovery! Take care.
Congrats, TB, for beating cancer. I used Axiom's flair until now as a sign of support. I'll probably change it now. But I know there are still many health issues remaining to fix as a result of this whole struggle, so my hope for speedy and full recovery still goes with you. Also, sorry for you quitting TL, but quitting any forum is usually not a bad thing. Best of luck, TB!
Glad to find this, necro'd thanks to the awesome inaugural SHOUTcraft Kings for great games and a hell of a show this Sunday. And the best part, it's monthly!

TB > IGN ?
Hah, just a few days ago there was an article on Gamasutra from one of the developers of Renowned Explorers on how their game was looking to be a flop for the first two months until TB's video almost singlehandedly saved it.
TotalBiscuit's appearance looked visibly weaker yesterday. It really breaks my heart. I'm so proud of TB to commit to working at Blizzcon despite his health. He's truly an inspiration to me.
