Fnatic.aLive: "He is considered as the scariest TSL player in practice matches" - Liquipedia. That already says a lot about the player he is. But I am not a huge fan of aLive just because he is an awesome player, but also because he seems to be a really great guy. He has a cute and shy way to act that makes me only like his play and personality more and more. Thou he has a small lack of big results, due to what it seems to be a little nerves issue, you should never look away from his play. He is indeed a great player and I am confident that he will eventually have his time to shine!

aLive is amazing. He has been consistent throughout many GSLs, always on top of KR ladder with great win % and he seems to have a very pleasant personality. I enjoy watching him play.
I'm in, waited for a long time this fan club ! Also you can ad the inteview he made with iesf guy at IPL. It's a verry good and interesting interview with the cutest presentation ever !
This guy is very very good at skills. If you meet him on ladder, he definitely make you want to quit. He is the kind of person being able to piss you off by harnessing from every angle and perfect solid defense in his home even if you have the dominant advantage in the game. You just never know how the hell he just dont die no matter what you did
I'm sad he never performs well in code S, this is like the most concistent player of th scene : always in code S beating people known as better than him but he never goes in semi finals or something, loosing in the firts stages... I hope he does a final one day, his ladder results show his potential !

was it serious, or maybe just kidding? i wonder because alive also just has recently quit TSL
he quit tsl ?? why ? he was the last good player... im sad for this team, really.

Pretty sure aLive is still with TSL, and im guessing its just joking around.

It was JYP, Killer and Clide who left the team, not aLive. I'm sure they're only joking around since they were playing right in the same room.
I'm sad he didn't stream today. By the way this is by far the most impressive Terran stream on TL. I'll never understand why he isn't more hyped and why forGG got 20 times more viewers using always his semi-allins strategies. aLive will pretty soon perform in GSL, i don't understand why he didn't yet. TOP 5 world terran easily if not more.
I love aLive and I really hope he makes it to fnatic... one of my favorite organization from the CS days.. and now they have rain, moon and even maybe aLive soon... can't wait!
I was wondering if anyone has links to past streams of aLive? I remmember seeing him streaming a while ago but i cant find any past recordings of them. Much appreciated if someone could help <3
Finally his Fanclub is updated! Sorry about the long time without doing it guys
I was hoping some admin could change the thread's name to the fnatic.aLive Fanclub but we will see about that.
The big news is aLive vs MMA! Really, really hard player but is what you expect on a Ro08 of GSL!
Who believes aLive will be able to win against MMA? Cause I sure do :D
Quoting from MMA's interview:
Q: Your opponent in the round of 8 is aLive. How do you think the games will turn out? A: He's really good, but as compared to other players, he still hasn't receive much attention. He is versatile in his strategies, and also has very good mechanics. I'm going to have to prepare well.
Be sure to watch GSL on February 15, 2012 18:10 KST(GMT+9) to cheer for aLive!
MMA vs Alive is going to be a HUGE match in terms of Alive's career. I'm cheering for the golden boy MMA but if Alive plays mech well and wins, I'll have no qualms about it.
Sign me up! First a teammate of Moon and then thrashed idra like nobody's business. "u sixpoll" will go down in SC2 history as the greatest read on a player ever!
I'm really angry about the way this forum is ruled right now:
- Naniwa does a Naniwa -> Gets shitload of hates (i can agree with
- Stephano does similar thing -> Hate, tl frontpage etc...
- Idra does nearly the same -> Nothing happens and the most common opinion on the tournament's thread is that "it's Alive's fault, the vilain korean was to BM because he used agressive builds, we understand what Idra did, sixpooling is an agressive build too...."
Idra fanboys rule all this thing, i tell you, first on hate, first on dismishing Idra's fault when it's too apparent this guy is likely to be hated.
Now the fault is on Alive, and nobody seems to care about it...
Bad luck against TaeJa, but that dude was just on fire that day owning Jjakji 4-0 :-/
I think the group at IronSquid is quite tough, at least no MC or DRG, but it could have be better. There are no other Terrans here.
NesTea and Leenock are both insanely good against Terran, and Nerchio also has his best matchup against Terran.
Will be tough, but if he makes it through there, he has good chances at the later stage, when he meets more Terrans like PuMa or MVP / MMA, and show his Mech power.
Too bad he lost vs Genius . But I think if he keeps practising as he has done in the last few months, plus getting more and more on stage experience, he will win a GSL one day! aLive fighting!
aLive has got this. I've been rooting for him ever since I meet him at MLG Orlando last year. He's finally getting the attention he deserves. C'mon aLive! IPL4 is yours!
Gratz! :D. Even though I was sad to see MKP&Stephano eliminated I'm glad that aLive (would have been happy too with Squirtle) won in the end, shutting up the haters about his TvZ (TvZ is hard with lag you know? ^_^) Awesome pick up for fnatic
Crank, Heart, Life, DRG? Was this from qualifiers or something because they weren't at IPL 4...
Amazing plays by aLive finally taking a title~
Crank & Heart were at IPL4, but those games are from the qualifiers yes. Really impressive run though, especially getting revenge on Nestea in the winners final.
Q: How does it feel making it to the round of 16 of the winner's bracket? A: I knew I had to win today's match, but I was quite stressed because Jaedong had such a reputation. I'm not usually the sort who gets stressed before games. I kept trying to calm myself down before the games, and to treat this game as if it were my first ever professional competition, and that relieved some of my nervousness. It wasn't too bad. Even though winning today was kind of granted, today's victory makes me happier than when I defeat Code S players.
Q: What were your thoughts after seeing the brackets? A: To be honest, I was thinking to myself 'Why Jaedong'. There were so many other competitors that it could have been. It would have felt so much more comfortable if I were just matched up against other GSL competitors. It just gives me a weird feeling when I think about having to play against Kespa players. The people around me kept telling me I must not lose. That put a lot of pressure on me.
Q: Give an assessment of today's games. A: If I ignored the ID, there isn't much of a difference between his skill level and the skill level of GSL players. His creep spread and his multi-tasking really amazed me. However, he didn't seem to be very good at defending against medivacs. Maybe it's just a lack of experience. In the second game, I just thought that I would win if I played according to my own style, and I chose the safe two barracks build.
Q: You put yourself at a nice advantage in the second game with your marines with the two barracks opening. A: By right, this opening should not be able to give me such a good advantage. I guess it's because he did not think that I would be using this tactic. It seemed like he had wanted to use an all-in strategy. In the end, I attacked before his all-in could hit me. After that, the game just went the way I wanted it to.
Q: Were you intimidated by Jaedong's popularity? A: To be honest, I don't have many fans even if my opponent wasn't Jaedong. It feels like I'm an invisible terran. I guess if I continue working hard and persevering, maybe more people would come to know of me.
Q: Your next round opponent is Parting. A; I lost to him previously in Code A. That time, I lost really horribly because I had just came back from an overseas tournament. This time, I will prepare well. Even if I lose, I want to make the games entertaining. Since I defeated Jaedong, I cannot let his fans down.
Q: What are your aims for this tournament? A: The first aim is to be in the top 10. After that, I'll take it a step at a time. I think very highly of this tournament, and I will prepare really well so I can get good results.
Q; Any last things to add? A: I want to thank our sponsors Raidcall, Eizo, Steel Series, MSI. I also want to thank the fans who have been supporting me, as well as my team mates and my parents. Recently, my fans have been asking me why I am becoming more and more like invisible terran. But I'm very satisfied even just to have someone calling me invisible terran. I hope to be able to play against Light soon since I've already become invisible terran.
I wanted to share this photo I got with aLive at MLG Orlando back in 2011! I was only getting into SC2 then, and had only been following it for about a month and a half. When I got to MLG he was the first match I watched in person. I think that's probably one of the main reasons that he's my favorite player. It was a bit awkward asking for the photo though :D haha. He was very nice about it though! There's my fanboy story of meeting aLive, lol!

After losing to Patience at the very start crushing back from loser's bracket defeating Impact, Byun, Zest, Innovation and Maru! Wow this guy is on fire, especially his TvT!
Sign me up! During this IEM he has been such a consistent player even when he is losing. Have been waiting for another up and coming terran to start making their name

Wow...there were no posts in this fan thread since 2014, then it suddenly came alive at the release of LotV, then nothing again until this IEM.
I honestly thought last year that aLive was going to retire. I'm SO glad he didn't, because his skill level has really soared recently. Performance in online cups tend to be a precursor to offline wins (see ByuN throughout LotV) so I have high hopes!
Maybe he is playing faster than casters so there is not so much hype? ;p Lately he is playing incredibly well. He outmultitask most of opponents. Playing like that he will have more succes (if there will be no adepts )
I hope that his 'widow minefield' strategy gets more popular. It's cheap, efficient, forces observers/overseers, and provides so much map control - I'm surprised not more Terrans have been doing this.
Can someone tell me since when he closed his twitch & twitter accounts ? I wanted to watch some of his stream sessions on his Twitch channel but his profile is gone.
Has somebody get some news about him ? No qualifier for GSL supertournament, no stream since more than a month, any online tournament since a while... It smells like a retirement that will happen soon.
