Hello! Welcome to the fanclub for one of Team Liquids premier translators! Felt way overdue. Made me sad to see someone that puts so much work into what she does and not have a fanclub. She has done a staggering amount of translations for BW articles and in addition she is also bridging the language barrier from the Koreans by translating for some of the biggest SC2 events in the U.S, including IPL, MLG, IEM, Red Bull as well as working overseas events like Dreamhack!
She has also lended her beautiful voice to several songs as well as SC2Gears, and recently graduated from Washington University. If you support Smix and appreciate all that she does for the community, leave a message or sign up!

Currently looking for some banners to use for the fanclub to spruce it up a bit. If you wish to lend your artistic talent, it would be much appreciated!
Will be updating the member list frequently so it shouldn't take long for someone to be added.
Also, only people who ask to be signed up will be put on the members list!

Dunno, It baffled me as well. The number of translations, especially the BW articles, she has done is quite staggering. I know Smix comes off as a pretty humble person, but there really needed to be a place on TL where we can show appreciation for her work.

It was my pleasure! You guys were awesome!
And you guys are awesome!! AHHHhhhh never would've dreamed of something like this but it's an honor T___T I'll work harder next time so I can live up to this honor!! (IPL4!)

She's the only interviewer/translator to date I could stand for more than a few seconds and that includes muting/unmuting the IPL stream whenever the other girl speaks. Keep up the good work.
Sign me up! From what I've seen she seems intelligent and enthusiastic about the scene and has contributed heaps to the community, oh and she doesn't look half bad either .
Must say, Smix has been doing a fantastic job at IPL4. She's pretty much the only translator I like, no awkwardness and proper translations. Most korean translators aren't good enough at English and you always get the feeling that they are shortening the players answers significantly. With Smix, it really feels like proper interviews.
I hope more tournaments hire her and she gets more screen time since it's awesome to get more opinions from players.
I find it fascinating that I haven't seen any negative criticism towards Smix yet. She's really been doing a great job and not even in the LR thread they seem to find any faults with her. Keep it up!

Smix do an amazing job. I dont even understand why the girl on the left side of nestea is here for.
the girl on nestea's left is the one actually doing the interview, smix is just translating.
My point was that Megamix just ask some questions. I dont call this an inverview Smix should ask the questions. Plus her voice is so beautifull. Megamix's voice makes my hears hurts :/
Members list is now up to date! Also, still kinda looking for banners to make it look better. Oh, and any suggestions to improve the OP are much appreciated! Maybe the way things are formatted or organized, or any photos/videos/interviews that pop up that i'm not aware of that I can add to the OP.
Thanks again to everyone who has contributed so far! I'm sure Smix appreciates all the kind words and encouragement you have given
You did great at IPL You're voice is way too cute for me to handle. You manage to put a smile on my face each time you speak, thx and do more events !!!
I dunno how she can rate herself lower than Hwanni, his translations always seem a little bit too vague, like people talk a whole bunch and then he says one phrase and that's it, anyways, sign me up, Smix is so cute <3.
Best interview translator I've seen yet. I don't know if she's doing a good literal translation, but her translations seem a lot more fluid and real than others I've seen. (Sorry Reis.)
Sign me up. She's the best translator in the business and she's friendly/playful without ever being awkward. (And gorgeous, but that goes without saying).
Hope to see more interviews/translation/songs/voice acting from her in the future.
sing me up! She's far and away the best translator in the SC2 scene atm. I've been waiting so so long for SOMEONE to due dubbed translations. Her english is better than any other translator too.
gj translating the event. it really impressed me how you were able to interpret a lot of the interviewers words and phrases that don't have a literal translation in Korean.
and yeah gj having the entire stream fall in love with you.
Added a couple new pics from the MLG picture thread. Smix has been doing a great job translating as always. Thanks to everyone stopping by and showing your support!
Smix is a guest on tonight's Wednesday Night Sprites with ChanmanV! Stop by their Twitch channel or their channel group on Bnet, Wednesday Night Sprites if you wish to play along.
Also, Smix will be at Anaheim as a spectator. Say hi if you see her!
Possibly might be translating again in the future, will keep you posted if I hear anything.
I hope she does end up doing more translating. I was watching TLO's stream today and I heard her voice from the sc2gears and my heart skipped a beat. Smix hwaiting!
She was a good host, especially for a first-timer! The interviews were good as always as well. If you have seen her twitter though, she unfortunately missed her flight so hopefully she gets home soon.
Aside from some repetitives/awkward formula ("hey guys I'm here with X" while on the main stage :D) which wasn't a big deal, she really did a good job, the interviews felt natural and rather funny, and the fact that she both interviews and translates is a big plus I feel, it was way more fluent than with an additional translator. So yeah she did great considering how stressful it had to be as a first time doing everything and not just translating! She didn't deserve to miss her flight and have such a shitty sunday :D
i think she was one of the better hosts and it was nice, only thing i could probably point out as what i didnt like is the lack of cat ears....i was promised something different from the first picture in this thread..
If you checked the SC2 forums, you will see that Smix released a cover of a song today! No youtube link but I will post the topic link and the page where the song is at.
Also, just a heads up but I am leaving in a few hours on a trip to Germany to visit relatives there for a couple weeks. So don't panic if nothing is updated for awhile. It will be one of the first things I check when I get back.
Unfortunately, this also means I will miss Dreamhack Bucharest this weekend. I hope everyone enjoys the games and gives Smix lots of encouragement as she hosts alongside Seltzer. I would like to come back and see lots of positive comments in here and hopefully more people to add to the fanclub!
As of now there are 172 members. It would be awesome to come back to 200 members or even more!
Much thanks to everyone who has posted so far and/or joined the fanclub! Ultimately this was made to appreciate all the hard work she has done for this community over the years (and continues to do) and I have been amazed by all the positive responses here. Keep it up guys

Holy cats, "GG Maybe" at the closing of IEM NY was amazing~! And considering that it was Life who won, I can't think of anything more fitting. You totally looked like you were having so much fun. =)
Best host ever. Knowledge of the game which leads to great interviews and greats translations Really beautiful and friendly. And she also sings great! She should be a must have in every event.
Smix will be at Red Bull Battlegrounds in NYC doing a wide range of stuff for the event. She has also been giving away tickets on her Twitter lately, so if you are in the NYC area and can make it, and you don't have a ticket yet, watch her Twitter and you could win
She has also been streaming quite a bit lately on twitch, you can find her channel at http://www.twitch.tv/smixity.
Great interviews! I always wonder how translators can keep all the stuff in their heads and on top manage to conduct a sound interview with relevant questions. Props!
Hey Sue, I really like the interviews you do. Your questions are very pertinent in the context. You ask the right things and must be partly well prepared, partly good at adapting on the go to always feel so on point.
The translations are really fluid too. Thanx for your efforts keep up

Still have not heard anything about any upcoming events she will he hosting/translating for. She recently got a sub button on her Twitch channel though which is pretty cool! She is trying to stream more often which includes SC2 custom games with people from the channel as well as some other games so be sure to keep an eye on her twitter if you are interested.
Also, huge thanks to everyone who has posted so far, never imagined this would take off so well when I started it. Happy to see that someone who has done so much for our community gets lots of love from you guys constantly. Just very happy to be a part of it, keep it up guys
Although a little late, I just saw Smix announcing that she will be hosting the GameVid Expo in Atlanta this weekend! If anyone happens to be around the area and didn't know about it (I know I didn't T_T).
Besides that, she has been streaming quite a bit more recently on twitch (mostly CS:GO lately) and got into the sub program as well quite awhile ago. Definitely a cool way to support her if you can
Oh yeah, she also recently got a Facebook Fan Page if you wish to follow her there.
She has been a great host this weekend! Also found a cool pic on twitter. Tried to put it in the op or in a post but it gets cut off, you can see it here.
The nicest thing about her interviews is that her translations feel really accurate, unlike some translators who give a 5 second translation when they have to translate a 5 sentence question/answer.

Just saw on twitter that Dreamhack Summer has been officially announced along with casters and hosts. Smix will once again be a panel host and will probably be doing the interviews as well like last time.
I'm so definitely a fan of Smix!! IMO she's the best interviewer at all the live events, and her ability to translate korean makes her so valuable.. On top of that she always asks excellent questions that I feel are relevant.. I hope she stays in the scene for a long time and that more e-sports venues hire her.
She posted her first vlog earlier today, explaining how she got into Starcraft and translating stuff for TL and the like. Takes a lot of balls to put something out there so personal like that. I think we are very fortunate to have someone in our community like Smix.
It's Smix's birthday today! Would mean a lot to send her a tweet or something wishing her a happy birthday
I guess it's been awhile since I updated. I think you can count on her being at the next Dreamhack whenever it gets announced on here. She has also been streaming more lately as she is trying to go full time with streaming/translating events and has become a twitch partner with a sub button for her channel. It's grown quite a but compared to when it started. Mostly playing Arcade games on SC2 although she has done a ladder stream recently. Also plays CS:GO once in awhile.
Thanks to everyone who has shown support thus far, it is much appreciated
She's doing great at WCS Finals so far and looking amazing as usual!
Also saw this which reminded me that I never added her Liquipedia page. Hopefully more will be added to it. Also updated some information, mostly under which tournaments she has worked at, since it was out of date. I think it's fairly accurate now.
On November 24 2014 06:46 Intensity wrote: How do I fix that? I want her for myself. She's like the coolest chick ever. I'm married but I'd totally leave my wife for a shot with Smix
Intensity wife intensifies. O_O Ok the joke was bad, so i better stay on topic Smix everywhere nowdays, we are spoiled ^^
I had a great time cheering for Sue since I signed up on June 28 2013. Please dont get me wrong, I still admire and love her, but for me its something very special if I sign up for a fanclub (Smix fanclub is the only one, I am a member of so far). thank you
