That depends on when will the quarterfinals, semis etc be played in WCS. I see the schedule isn't public yet, so anything is possible.

Alright, This might be a bit rambling, but we'll see how we go.
Scarlett is currently placed #35 in the WCS rankings, she needs, 1000 points at least to theoretically make it to Blizzcon. I say theoretically because its based on the pure notion that no one else higher than her receives points during this time. This means, that in WCS NA she needs to finish either 1st (2,000 points) or 2nd (1,000) to qualify.
Her WCS Round of 16 group does not seem that tough, she will be versing Iaguz up first. Iaguz has very strong TvZ which he got from his time in the SEA region and in the Round of 32 he topped his group 2-0 beating Alicia and Jim (so his TvP is presumably strong as well. Her next opponent will either be Her0 or violet. Violet has been playing like a beast lately and very little has been shown from Her0 so those will be exciting match-ups. I think however, if Scarlett is on her game she will make it out of her group.
Here comes the interesting part. If Scarlett comes 1st in her group she will play the 2nd qualifed player from Group D. Group D consists of Heart, Neeb, Polt and Major. Major, according to some recent twitter msgs may not be attending due to health concerns. Leaving Heart, Neeb and Polt to battle it out for the 2 spots. I think this group is fairly obvious; Polt and Heart should make it out. So depending on the order they may it out, Scarlett will either vs. Polt or Heart. Now she has beaten both players before, quite convincingly, but both players have also beaten her quite convincingly. So it will definitely be two theoretically tough games.
Ok..so thats that. But also, remember that she is also in line to play at the Redbull Battlegrounds: Washinton D.C. I'm not certain but I think RBBG: Washington is a tier 2 Non-WCS Event. Meaning that it will have 4,000 WCS points up for grabs with a distribution of 1st: 750, 2nd: 500, 3rd-4th: 375, 5th-8th 250, 9th-16th: 125. This event features PartinG, Bomber, Cure, sOs, DongRaeGu, Trap, Polt and Scarlett. Not sure whether this event is open or not, so the distribution of WCS points will change if the event is not Open and it it just these 8 players.
But does Scarlett still have a chance to qualify if she doesn't get 1st or 2nd in WCS NA?
If Scarlett places 3rd/4th in WCS NA she will receive 750 points. This means she will have to place 3rd or higher in RBBG to theoretically attend Blizzcon. If Scarlett places 5th-8th in WCS NA she will recieve 500 points. This means she will have to place 2nd or higher in RBBG to theoretically attend Blizzcon. Scarlett can not theoretically attend Blizzcon, if my maths is right, if she qualifes lower than 8th place in WCS.
Sorry this is too long. I'm not a mathematican so I'm not sure if everything is correct and it is also 1am here, and I was bored from writing my thesis. I hope someone finds this interesting and I hope someone rectifies any mistakes that I may have made in the post.

your pretty much spot on she needs 1st or second i don't know if she comes in below 2nd in WCS that RBB would even matter points wise., but she has said in the past she is not really thinking about blizzcon.

that CNN thing is huge exposure for her, it was a matter of time until she would enter the spotlight. It's only upwards from here
it's also a fantastic exposure for the entire Starcraft community, thanks to her.
|
I'm surprised she would want to do something as public as CNN. Maybe it would be done under the condition that identity questions would not be discussed.
|
She will probably answer general questions about esports, training, life as a progamer etc.
Regardless of the questions, it's really good that she accepted, it's in her best interest to do it; this will open an enormous amount of doors for herself and esports as well.
Exposure is what esports needs at this point, and she is doing it. Effort·less·ly.
edit i like to believe that all members of this fanclub influenced the decision of CNN picking her, by constantly posting here <3

somehow i'm missing your point, are you saying the interview could be done without her disclosing her identity? as in "this anonymous Esports progamer answered our questions" - then it would make no sense to publicly reach out to her on twitter, no? they wouldve called Acer and get in touch with her without making it public.

You serious? Gender Identity. Too many companies like to make the story about her gender and less about her career. This looks to be more about esports in general and not her specifically so it's probably fine.
