Scarlett did not engage off creep constantly, she waited but she had to also be careful and not allow terran to step too much on it because in 3-4 scans all of it will get removed in a few minutes, you have to also try to push at the edge constantly to prevent terran from clearing it and ideally further extend it; it's a balance to be kept between waiting for terran to be on creep and not allowing him too much on it
Another issue is how crucial queens are in establishing creep lost to marines, if you lose creep queens vs terran the chances to win are diminishing
Hi there! This is my girst post ever on TL so please be gentle, especially cuz of my poor English.
I`m a huge fan of Scarlett and her playstyle. She creates some of the most entertaining games in nearly every tournament she`s partipicating.
I think she improved a lot this year, only in ZvT she is struggeling atm. I don`t think that the recent Widomine/Thor buff should keep her away from playing Muta/Ling/Bane, cuz it`s her favorite playstyle and I don`t think that the patch is the main reason with her problems in this matchup. If she`s able to take the game into mid/lategame (where the patch really comes into play), she mostly shows very close back and forth games (polt and cure RB), of course there are games she wouldn`t have lose without the patch but in general she`s able to egalize the buff withe her macro play. The hellbat buff is a litlle bit more tricky, she had struggeled with heavy hellbat-play pretty much since this playstle came first into play and in these games often she isn`t able to take it into midgame. The last series against heart where hes used hellbatdrops tells another story cuz she kinda blindcountered it but sadly she lost to the follow push in order to a lag of scouting since she didn`t know in time that he was allin on two bases.
And this is something I don`t really understand in her games she played in the last few month, cuz in particulary in ZvT she has a really poor scouting in my eyes, especially her overlord spread is often nonexistent. She lost a few games against two base allins where she didn`t scouted for a third base and even didn`t saw the army pushing out (for example against heromarine ATC). Also in the many longer macro oriented games she often falls behind after the first push because she isn`t able to produce enough units in time to fight costeffective and than she has a hard time in slowly closing out the game again. In ZvZ and ZvP it seems to have less impact than ZvT but I think she could improve a ton in all matchups if she woult focus a little more on scouting, at least by scouting for a third base. It seems like she ignored her overlord spread since her games at Battlegrounds NA, where polt literally killed all her overlords with vikings and marines, even her first scouting overlord before he could reach the enemies main. But that didn`t really matter, she won her games anyway. Only one day later she played him again where she even scipped the first scouting overlord and polt killed her with an heavy comitted early push. I really think she would have a much easier life in the early midgame if she would see the first bigger pushes a litttle earlier and having more time to push out enough units to trade more efficient.
Maybe there is a good reason for her less focus on getting scouting information, I really would appreciate to hear her opinion (maybe by proving me totally wrong). But sadly I think there are very poor chances in getting an answer on this horrible written, light-minded post, since i`m not The_Templar...
Anyway, I really love to watch her play and i`m pretty sure that she will get over theese struggles in ZvT soon and making it her best matchup again. Scarlett fighting!
In all honesty, when it comes to the terran matchup, she seems to be kinda lost lately. It almost seems like some kind of psychological problem. Let's hope it's just temporary.
4:0. It looks like vs heart.Early crazy attack with huge army and GG in 4th game scarlett killed like 40-50scv but he use mule power and still make army and killed her with fallow up. Just terran bullshit...

Okay, scarlett threw away all her banelings to kill those SCVs and then didn't have any banelings to hold off the marines at her front door a minute later. No bullshit balance, she made a bad decision.
I don't think the Foreign Hope finals were very reflective of Scarlett's true zvt level. She was probably feeling a bit of a hangover after the deflating loss to Heart when she played Bunny, because the last series with Bunny she played and won was much better. I thought she deserved to win the Foreign Hope after dominating the round-robin as well as leaving her main rivals Bunny and Snute well-beaten, it's too bad she didn't but in the end it was basically bragging rights so it's not the biggest loss. So that's part of it, another part is that all zergs are struggling in the matchup, not just scarlett, and they're having a hard time finding a way into the macro game they want to play and it's upset the applecart, especially at the highest levels because while zergs are still winning zvt's, now they are doing it with high-risk, high-variance strats like roach all-ins, and that's punishing high-level macro players like scarlett most, who are really at their best playing and winning macro games. So it's up to zergs to make the adjustments to try and get back into the macro game they need to play, and I don't expect Scarlett to solve that puzzle on her own.
And the final part of the reason for her zvt struggles is that Scarlett herself makes a lot of mistakes in her play, in the past Scarlett could just comfortably sit back, defend, spread creep, drone up, take all the bases and win, now it's not so comfortable and mistakes you could get away with before now get punished. In the end it can be a good thing to lose and to struggle, it forces you to learn, adapt and get better, and I've seen Scarlett doing that, she used to just do the same macro builds every match but now she tries all sorts of weird timings, build orders, and unit compositions. She might be losing right now but I think she's actually a better, more complete player than she was in the past and she's still progressing. So for Scarlett I think it's just a question of getting back to the gym, finding her mistakes and fixing them, and waiting for the wind to blow the other way. Her day will come again.
