I guess people didn't make the big deal out of it compared to herO. I guess the 100K prize does make the rivalry between herO and sOs more memorable.

Yeh, TY is like Terran version of herO for sOs, but he is kind "better" imo since he just lost 8 offline bo1 or bo3 consecutively against sOs whereas herO never win a single bo5 and bo7.

Tbh I don't know what form Neeb has right now, but there is one thing I do know for sure, in the world of PvP, there are three gods exist(ed) - sOs, Zest and Classic. To win a Bo5+ match against any of these god, you must call another god among them to have a try or you highly likely waste your time. One hour before they die, they are lying in the coffin, cannot say a single word, cannot move their fingers and even don't remember anyone or anything, but they can still play PvP in their mind

(makes him a god?) That sample size is too few, also 3-2 is a very close score anyway (and I see 4-3 for Zest btw), in addition Neeb's PvP history against Koreans is very short compared to those three gods. Basically I don't know he will be a consistently good PvP player or not at this point since his PvP only shone at Kespa Cup (and his opponents are all second tier Korean PvPers) whereas the other three gods have proven themselves for almost four years.

He leads head-to-head against Classic and Zest and is barely behind against sOs.

Their scores are all close, but If you pay attention to offline results (or when it truly matters), you'll see the difference. Stats is only good against Zest offline because they are teammates, also Stats has fewer PvP sample size (about same as Classic). I guess I'll put Classic above him atm only because Stats' PvP is not very impressive in HotS and their head to head offline results. Since we are talking about bo5+ series here, I just don't see Stats' play style can win him a bo5+ against sOs and Classic.

I wish there would be an equivalent to sOs for T and Z in Korea... those builds were insane.

I am afraid after the performances in GSL vs. the World, we will not see sOs get to (and win) this BlizzCon ...

He must win GSL to get to Blizzcon, which is nearly impossible.

Nobody deny his legend. But of course we expect him to be more consistent.

He's never been consistent and he never will be consistent. While sOs has good enough macro and micro, he's not a macro or micro player. He wins by outsmarting his opponents and that's super hard to do consistently.

Also tbf in late hots he would just win with normal builds too.

He wins by outsmarting his opponents and that's super hard to do consistently. I guess this is depending on how you define consistency though, he is the only Protoss leading his race from the beginning of year 2013 (since Parting and Rain are gone) and individual offline title every year so far (although this year will be hard), only Bogus and him achieved this (and Bogus is even better because he has premier title every year whereas sOs got a major title last year). Also don't forget, he has been played this game for 5 years and his offline winrates against Koreans (both matches and games) are still the second highest next to Bogus, this is another amazing record to keep with, since more game samples usually means lower winrates (think about how Ladder winrates works). So for these reasons, he will keep "the most consistent Protoss of all time" title if he got another offline championship this year, but again, it is unlikely to happen this year.

I just realized sOs has to play someone from group A (which will highly likely be a top Terran) even he made to Ro.8... Blizzcon dream is over guys.
