Is it like the nordic countrys of Denmark, Sweden, Norway ? Everything is completely different, we all have different writing system and can't understand each other whatsoever However, it's a bit easier to study other Asian languages if you're an Asian, there's like this similarity like between English and German, for example, but otherwise, we can't understand each other

Is it like the nordic countrys of Denmark, Sweden, Norway ? What NinjaToss said - the languages are mutually unintelligible. Although they do share some similarities, especially with regard to the influence of Chinese, due to historical and geographic reasons. Btw Korea, Japan and China are considered East Asian countries whereas Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia & Singapore etc. are part of Southeast Asia. Southeast Asian languages aren't really influenced by China with the exception of Vietnam because it borders China. NinjaToss should be able to tell you more about that if you're really interested :p
