Zest at least won HSC, INnoVation did nothing last year. This year he's the best player in the world. Counting out a player of Zest's quality is silly.

He only qualified for one premier tournament that year and lost 0-4 in the ro16. He did worse than Zest by a mile. He only earnt $13K that year excluding whatever his team gave him ofc, compared to Zest who's nearly at $30K And Zest is already looking better ffs, he destroyed ByuN and Gumi at HSC, beat Gumi and Solar offline to get into ST2. Many players have also said he has the best PvT in korea right now. I know losing 0-3 to herO looks bad, but that was a herO that also beat sOs, Dark, and almost took out Rogue. All three of those are top 5 korea right now.

I really don't know why you would make such an assumption when you are the same poster who routinely likes to compare Zest to INnoVation. 2016 Inno was trash in individual leagues, though he did perform quite well in Proleague, Obviously 2017 Zest doesn't have Proleague, but his individual results are still better than 2016 Inno's. 2017 Inno is the best player in the world, with the (four) trophies to prove it and fans clamoring to crown him GOAT. It's entirely possible that Zest could rise to those heights in 2018. I don't think that is a sure thing by any means, but drop the bar a bit and it's perfectly plausible, even likely, that Zest at least becomes an "average" top-tier like Classic. Of course getting swept by herO was hardly ideal, but Zest did make it through the qualifiers by defeating Gumiho and Solar. Imagine that this was a Code S and Zest was knocked out in the Ro16. Unfortunate, yes, but not uncommon for top-tiers to fall in the Ro16. No doubt the scene will be shaken up a bit by the new design patch, so we can see how things proceed after Blizzcon. It's way too early to be counting anyone in or out.

It's way too early to be counting anyone in or out. This is such a big factor. Before LoTV and the post-blizzcon patch came out, I was constantly trying to work out which pros would succeed more in the new game. Safe to say I was wildly inaccurate. You really can't predict that kind of thing edit: That being said, I do think the removal of the moma core and buff to stalkers/deathballs will go well with zest's playstyle to some degree.

If such builds materialize in the new patch, I have no doubts that he'll do well. So, the Protoss Inno Though, I have to say Zest in-form plays very flexibly with standard builds, whereas Inno in-form plays very rigidly with custom builds (which rapidly become standard).

Innovation's revival can give him hope but that is hardly a typical situation. Zest can't make the final 8 of a major tournament. We talk endlessly about his dominant ladder performances but it never translates into tournament wins. Zest could improve 10 slots in Korean WCs and still only be 12th. To crack the top 8 is highly unlikely. Would you bet a significant amount of money on Zest making Blizzcon next year? Your car? You guys can blow hard into the wind when nothing is at stake.

There's a new patch coming after BlizzCon, and INnoVation's revival is actually something that's very common. It's happened a thousand times. GuMiho, Rogue, soO, Zest himself in 2016, Dear, Solar, there's so many people who had lows and got back up to win. Zest himself already did it himself. So let's stop speculating whether or not he'll be good or not and just wait and see. Nobody can tell who's going to be good at the new patch.

sOs Maru Classic Ryung Byun Solar Dear Byul You guys act like Zest is going to flip on some switch and start kicking all their asses? He could have a much better year, improve significantly and still not make the top 8. In GSL 3 when Zest had every reason in the world to be motivated to play his best he was eliminated by Scarlett and Time.

A guy who could not crack the top 16 in GSL this year will not likely be winning the world championship. We can hope, dream and pray for a miracle but that is almost what it would be. Zest even in his prime had periods of poor play and inconsistency.

Do any of you disagree with each other on anything? You all agreed that Zest was garbage. You all agreed that Zest did not belong in GSL vs the world. You all agreed that letting fans vote for tournament participants was wrong because according to you fans are stupid and ignorant.

That was not your point. You said he was never going to be an elite Korean player again, which is nothing but ridiculous speculation and overreaction. It's not speculation at all, perhaps you need to look up the meaning of that word. It is opinion based on the facts at hand. His age, his history and how he has responded this year to certain situations. Would a person predicting that Nottingham forest will not be winning the Primier league this year be speculation? Or for NFL fans saying that the Cleveland Browns will not be going to the super bowl.

Calm down. When you say something stupid, expect to be called out on it. How is it stupid to say that the 30th best player in the world this year will not be winning blizzcon next year?
