He looked very shaky against MMA. I said at the time that any good terran player would have beaten him, and then he lost to Forte in a bo3 after. Definitely not as solid as a few weeks ago when he was 4-0 gumiho, 2-0 ty, and 2-0 innovation,

mate he 4;0'd Gumiho 4 days before he played vs Forte. its just fluctuations, nobody is perfectly consistent especially on a still fresh patch
As always, I'd encourage people to not read too much into any player's results during the offseason. Online cups, especially on a brand new patch with intermittent balance updates, are not the greatest predictor for future performance.
Zest will have plenty of opportunities to demonstrate his actual form–however good or bad–in the GSL.
Even in Zest's best years(14-16) he had periods where he slumped badly and lost to lessor players. It's going to happen. With the way WCS is structured you do not have to be super consistent the way Stats was. One GSL title or 2 other major titles(IEM, ST, SSL) you are in Blizzcon. He only needs to be brilliant for a few important events.
The only consistent issue is his problems with Impact. Zest supposedly was in an easy group compared to group B yesterday with Stats-Solar-TY-Gumiho but could not handle Impact.

Beating Inno and TY 2-0, and then losing to Forte and (almost) losing to MMA is a pretty huge fluctuation. We're talking GSL champ contenders vs players unlikely to qualify for Code S
PvT balance aside Zest looked really good today. Makes me wonder how in the world he lost to Forte a few weeks ago. Bodes well for gsl qualifiers in a couple days. Gonna be really tough tomorrow facing herO though. PvP is such a crazy matchup right now.

From what the casters were saying the series against herO was a very quick one. Probably 4 or 5 gate stalker pressure

That whole series was over faster than the first game between Inno and Gumi.

There were some cool moves from Zest though, especially in game 2. He really seems to have PvP on lock
Hopefully Zest qualifies for gsl tonight. I think he will if he can avoid the zergs. If not he should definitely be able to make it on day 2 since the groups will probably be very easy.
