https://twitter.com/xD1x/status/485875484849614848/photo/1 Its interesting because last year they almost blocked melee. Looks like they will be suporting the competitive scene now. Also, lets remember that the tournament features Melee, so it will be interesting to see if nintendo has planed something..

Nintendo sponsoring the competitive scene would be completely amazing.

When I was watching M2K and Mango, I thought they had actually sped up the video (like they made it 2x the speed in a video editor). Because the only players I could see do double shines that fast back then was Thunder (the Japanese player, who was amazing for his time). Plus Fumi's tech skill with Yoshi. I am in awe of how fast these guys have gotten. I am also shocked at how M2K continues to stay a top player throughout all these years. It's taken me like a week of watching the games for my eyes to finally get adjusted to the speed they are going at, and I still have no idea what they are doing half of the time haha

By stopping around 09 (around the same time I stopped) you basically missed out on the "tech skill era" where everyone went nuts with pure mechanics. Things are so fast now, and it's the standard, not even anything special. I used to practice my tech skill for months at a time trying to just learn how to moonwalk properly. I just could not get it. My hands weren't fast enough. I don't know how these guys can press a button 8 times a second. It doesn't seem humanly possible haha and at tournaments do they play on GC or Wii porting for Melee?

You can play on both, it doesn't make a difference.

I played against Wobbles last night in league (I THINK). I asked and he said yes. But that's not important.

+ Show Spoiler + Mango came out on top, although Hungrybox made an amazing grab for it, playing superbly all weekend. The entire last day of Smash is worth checking out to be honest.
