Anyone play or have played this series? Its sort of like Demon's Souls without lock-on
I was first introduced to monster hunter just last summer by my friend, he let me borrow his PSP for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. I had a lot of fun playing it and raging when I would get hit when I clearly dodged that Rathalos' fireball. Unfortunately the analog started to mess up and crap out completely so I never got to continue playing.
There's a new game coming out for the Wii on April 20th. You can play with up to 3 friends(just like all the previous ones) for free using the Capcom servers and I was wondering if anyone was going to pick it up so we could play or something. The game also comes with a "free" nintendo classic pro controller.
Hell yeahhhhh lol. I cannot wait! 4 more days till epic monster hunting shall commence. I didn't know it came with a free controller? But who uses the classic controller, you gotta use a gamecube controller :D.
I'll tag team some monsters with you tho, I got a friend who might be picking it up as well, though he's um eh... currently... incapacitated... to say the very least.
If your TV is near your PC we could even get some Vent/TS going . Since we all know Co-Op games are always better when you actually chat. Pretty sure Wii never got any mic support of sorts... I don't follow all that.
finally... I was soooo pissed when I bought Freedom Unite
"In the world of monster hunter... You are never alone..."
OMG OMG I GET TO PLAY ONLINE!!
I was so excited!! Only to find that the catch phrase SHOULD have included the line
"Unless your roommate doesn't own the game"
FailFailFail
Now with online play, I'm completely pumped to get back into it Completely recommend it for anyone who wants a hella difficult game that you won't be beating in a day or two.
Someone please tell me that rolling under Tigrex when it's charging at u is impossible. And the youtubers who can do this are using hacks. I've tried using extra invulnerability and i'm still not able to perform this "feat". Managed to do a lucky roll in between the fore and hind legs once and that's it.
I haven't played this game for a long while, but this game would be better if it was slightly more fast-paced.
I'm ~HR150 on Monster Hunter Frontier (KR). Used to play MHFU, but MHF has a lot more content even if it is grindier. Some of the new monsters are cool, too. Although I miss Naruga.
Also to roll under Tigrex you aim right, because its left leg lifts really high.
Tri is supposed to have keyboard support also so we'll see how it goes. 4 more days! I wanna try out slash axe, one of the new weapons showing up in MHTri
Heres a guy who's decent with it, though it seems like a low HR quest.
I play MH, HR9 in MHFU, attempting to borrow a friend's Wii or something so I can play Tri.
LaiShin, you can't roll through his body, you have to roll under his left leg (your right) or superman dive if you don't have evade +1/2. Better yet, just don't be in his path when he starts charging if you can avoid it.

Do you have a guide or anything to get onto MHF?
is it like the same stuff, offline and online modes?
Monster hunter!!!! lotsa ppl i know are getting it, even my sister. getting it day one and gunna play all friggin week yeah! looking into the bowgun stuff seems cool cause u can change the parts now.
I've spent hundred of hours playing Monster Hunter (PS2), Monster Hunter Freedom 2, and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. I love these games, though theres few people around here that even know about the game (lot more popular in Asia then Americas it would seem).

This is the wiki I used when I played. It has pretty much everything you need. The gameplay is based around online play (as it's an MMO) so it's all online. All of the monsters have 4.75x their HP from the PS2 games and deal tons more damage to compensate for the fact there will usually be 3-4 hunters on a hunt. There are some quests that are specifically solo (like Lunastra) and those are tuned for one person, but 99% of the hunts will be done with more than one person.
I don't have MHF installed on my new PC or I'd show you some screenshots. The game is really good if you like the core gameplay of MH, but it gets hella grindy above HR100.
