Hey Guys, I've kind of hit a wall with my WD: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Terranasaur-1719/hero/52062707
So I have a full Jade Set with a mediocre Sun Keeper and a decent Azurewrath. I also have a Carnevil/Dagger of Darts build that I run sometimes, and I've even used Mamajuma's Poison Cloud to zoom zoom around while doing bounties/level 1 GR's.
I need a Furnace and another Unity. I'd also love a SMK, but the Flayer I'm currently using is pretty awesome. I've got 3 Ramalamadingdongs sitting in my stash, but I just haven't seen that stupid knife. Am I crazy to start gambling for weapons? I don't really know what else to spend my shards on. Any tips or feedback?

I've got an awesome Serpent, but I can't use it with my Zuni set without swapping out my awesome Unity for my shitty Pox.
I've got all the pieces for the DoD built. I've got a good Carnevil, decent Waders, and a real good Dagger. That built is a lot of fun, I'll run it occasionally, I just feel like its not as fast or safe as my regular pet build. I die with it much more often.
I've got a Quetz for my Jade Set as well, but I dunno if I just suck at Jade or what, but I can't go very fast, and I just get blown the hell up all the time. Maybe it will be better now that I've got the Kulle-Aid, but I just don't find that as fun as running around with 23 Fetishes.
Basically, I have 3 full sets of gear. I like my pet stuff the best.
When I get a SMK, I'll obviously drop the Zuni Mojo, but what should I do for Boots and Chest at that point?

I tried it out but don't really have any survivability problems in T6 even without unity. With unity, just don't see the point other than for the lols.

Im always amazed when people say this... do you have 100+M EHP?
Because if you have normal char, molten/arcane + vortex/fear can kill easily you. Its not like elites dont deal enough damage to kill any non-super-tanky char in 1-2 seconds if one makes bad choice or elites get super nasty affix roll... And nearly every fight with 2 elite packs at the same time is dangerous.
Whereas with Boon+Goldwrap literally nothing can hurt you. You can pull 4+ elite packs, get frozen while standing right on top of arcane sentry and in middle of quadruple molten explosion and you wont even notice HP loss -_-

i currently think of it as a defensive harringtons of sorts

That is not true. You dont have to kill something every 5 sec, you just have to pick gold pile every 5 sec. Given that every kill grants multiple gold piles, you can actually fight for up to 1 min with buff on after only killing 2 mobs. In real life situations most mob packs grant enough gold piles to keep buff up for half of rift duration without too much effort.
It OFC takes some experience to do it (also that pick-up ring doesnt really help), but when you master it there is no reason to ever have problems keeping buff up except really bad density rifts in Pandemonium or so layout.

So I think I'm at a point where I need some advice. Been playing this Crusader up to T2, can clear a rift in under 15 minutes. Cleared grift 12 with 5 minutes left before decided to sleep last night. So that's where I am with this toon: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/wuster-1912/hero/53772236
The rare ring is normally a Stolen Ring with str/vit/ias or a Leorics with str/vit/cc (less sheet dps than Stolen Ring though).
Some things I wonder about: * I know that Crusader's don't care about IAS and somehow I have that instead of CC / CDR. But is any of my gear good enough to bother enchanting?
* My Maximus is over 50% of my healing right now, so I'm reluctant to reroll the loh to a socket, I assume once I get more paragon I can get all the healing I need that way then I can reroll?
* Last, am I overdoing it on the vit? I'm used to the vanilla model of looking for primary stat / vit on all pieces but I don't really die that much, it's just the killing speed that needs work.
* Is there any glaring flaw with what I'm doing?
alternate gear: I have teardrop, gogok and taeguk in my stash if my jewelry is worth rerolling for sockets. I'm trying to craft a royal flawless diamond, but I literally do not have enough diamonds to make one. I also have a Rolands chest which is a slight downgrade from Chaingmail, but if I ever get a RoRG.... Last, I have Asheara's, Aughild's, Cain's set plans
Thanks for reading that wall of text!

http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo3Crusaders/comments/275439/how_to_gearing_a_beginner_crusader_detailed_guide/
Now, onto your current gear:
pants - reroll armor to sockets maximus - reroll life per hit to socket helm - reroll fist of heavens to crit chance amulet - all around terrible, craft one with str, crit chance, crit dmg and a socket preferrably bracers are pretty bad, better off crafting reapers wraps with elemental dmg, str, vit, crit chance reroll life per hit for crit chance on those gloves
Use a gem like wreath of lightning or the smite gem as they help a lot at lower levels. Start slowly progressing through greater rifts and upgrading the gems.
Once all of that is done you should be able to at least do t3/t4. But ultimately you want to get 6 piece akkhans or 5 piece + leorics crown and a ring of royal grandeur. start gambling for the other 5 pieces. Once you get 6p you'll be able to cruise through t6, and at that point you start perfecting your gear.

Thanks for the response. I do have another leg amulet, which I believe has cc and cdr on it that I can swap back to. I guess crafting amulets is pretty cheap too (and I might get a socket).
I was thinking rerolling the pants when I posted, so I'll start with that.
I'll get to work on upgrading the Smite Gem. I was starting with Bane of the Powerful, but it doesn't seem useful until it's rank 25 and I can't grift high enough yet.

I would start by leveling the bane of the trapped because its used in pretty much every build. Use the wreath of lightning or smite gem for now just to give you more damage, but unless you're going to play holy the smite gem isn't very useful, and wreath is only used in speed t6 farming.

Rolling a socket on your weapon should be #1 priority. 130% crit damage (or even 115/120) is a major DPS boost. You can't have a weapon without it, no matter how good the other stats are.

I'm really scared of losing the LoH (my healing drops to 18k without it).
I have a Executioner with near-identical DPS and Str and a socket I'll swap to that and see if I feel too squishy.
Should have mentioned that in my alternate gear list.

You'll be fine without LoH. You don't even need life on hit for t6. Life on hit is only necessary for melee classes, and sheet healing honestly means nothing.

Even with the buffs in the 2.1 patch, "healing" should really not be a priority. If you really want some solid heals, some (most?) builds incorporate the Wrathful passive. You'll find that substantially increasing your damage negates the need for healing, especially with something as ridiculously strong and necessary as a socket in your weapon. LoH and regen tend to be the first stats you enchant out of on all the gear you get.
If you feel squishy by losing LoH, especially at the difficulties you're on, then work on your mobility and picking up healing globes. Or tune up your build (see the aforementioned reddit link for some pre-T6 builds). Incorporating Steed Charge might help substantially, as an escape and maneuverability tool. Having a ton of toughness seems good, but if it takes you whole minutes to kill an elite pack with dangerous affixes you're going to be dying anyway.

I'm playing both a dh and wizard, cookie cutter specs atm. There are a few close calls when I play carelessly but I don't really have any survivability problems. The wizard, especially, is quite tanky in T6. Both have enough mobility that I shouldn't really die from standing in shit too long in T6.

is anyone playing hardcore seasonal? I have a pet doc (that I've trying to go Jade with, just need a couple more pieces ~~). I'm currently doing t4 bounties safely/quickly but probably wouldn't feel I have the toughness/gear to go higher reliably.

I have decent seasonal wiz myself, with ~16,5M EHP, and I cant agree with this. Its not about standing in something, its about all CC affixes. There is no point saying "I have no problems with survivability" when you can stand in Plague or Desecrator, but the moment you get frozen or jailed in, feared or vortexed into something nasty you just insta die.
When Im going for KW runs, I can see this clearly. Odeg KW (A1) gets like 3-5 frags per game on average, and A3 and A4 KWs usually kill 1 or more player too. Average 2-3 packs fights are not that far behind that. There is really no point basing survivability on zombie or single elite pack (with low affixes) fights, or when in party hidden behind tanky Monks. Everyone does that and then they die every time there is worse RNG roll than Illusionist on elite pack. For some reason people tend to admit problems with survivability only when they cant survive fight against 3-5 fallens.
