I did, but then my parents cut off my wireless or something. But I didn't have a good winrate: 107 wins and 115 losses.

Modest and Adamant respectively o.o The starter pokemon natures don't change iirc I remember I saved and took the same pokemon several times after restarting and each time the nature was the same so the game makes sure you get a pretty good natured starter.

O.O Well, I have a Brave-natured Feraligatr in my HeartGold... Brave is somewhat fine, but Adamant is the best possible nature you can get with a pure physical Pokemon. And I started over new games on my Platinum a good amount of time (Because I sucked T_T), picked Turtwig continuously but they were always different natures. Once it was Jolly or Naive, then it was Jolly or Naive again (100% sure that it was a Speed beneficial nature), so maybe you got the luck of the draw every time you picked the starters :D

Can't wait when my jolly ttar 1-shots your adamant ttar with EQ, or when my jolly gyarados 1-shots your adamant gyarados with stone edge. Poor Antz, he caught a modest zam, but its highest IV is attack

Frame starts at 0 and then advances based on different factors. Calling certain people, coin flips, NPC movement, your movement. All IV's and natures (and abilities and genders) are known, so you just need to manipulate your seed and frame to get the pokemon with what you want. RNG FTW. Even if catching a wild full 31 IV is impossiblz, creating full 31 egg with nature is not hard to do :d

Figured out based on what was said about seed data that if you save right before picking your starter and then if you dont get a good nature you can restart save again then pick your starter again with a different nature. Tried it on a differnent copy of my ROM and it took me about half an hour to get a modest Cyndaquil I got adamant a few times which is tempting since his lower level stuff is physical but since he gets really good special fire moves and has a higher special base level I wanted to see how long modest would take and I got rather unlucky but it works.
