Did you add the game to your list? If you go to your warp portal account and click game list, then create a RO2 account. But..that's been broken since yesterday supposedly so who knows

In my opinion RO1 was one of best mechanically designed MMORPG. Having dozens of potential elemental enchantments for both armor and defense, and having to constantly hotkey to change them on the fly, and the stat system itself, added some really high skill ceilings to playing the game optimally. From the looks of it, they didn't waste very much money--this is my opinion no matter which way i tried to slice it and with how much time i forced myself to put into the game. ..and if this was any good, you'd see a lot more hype here than just a couple posts wondering. Putting this as simply as i can, 100% not recommended for many reasons. Could you say why? My love for RO1 probably can overcome many bad things ;_;
Sorry for the late reply, but i'll also try to keep this brief--you would really need to play on your own to see where you get before you cave in and tell yourself not to play anymore.. it could be a while if you have lots of friends who play, or it could be very quickly if you just look at the game objectively.
Here's a couple of things: It's nothing like RO1 except for the names of monsters/mobs and some class related names. I also say this because it has none of its own innovations as a game, or really a comparable charm as the game it's supposedly based on (not at all trying to make this come off as harsh).
There are different tiers of crafting and certain equipment sets you gain from doing instances with a party (a necessity because solo is absolutely not a option in those instances) as the mobs and bosses are spiked up in stats (but not too strong that it will 2-shot somebody). The equipment itself and even the more unique items don't look very special or have any real unique stats other than being stronger for its level range. It's a far cry from RO1 where you would farm a specific mob for interesting items and well as their cards.
Now cards exist in the game but are nowhere near as game-changing or really interesting. You equip them only to your character slots which open up as you have more levels on your character and you can typically get away with just equipping any cards you find in the areas you're hunting (you'll find many).
The stats in the game from what i remember are centered on your primary stat and there's not much you would ever add aside from your classes' preferred stat. Each point seems to make very little difference even in the small scheme of things.
I got to about level 40 on a melee class and did all the dungeons i could with a group of people i was playing with. Unfortunately, the grind was rarely fun and the instances were not a far cry from a low level raid in WoW. It would be very sad for me to see someone spend as much time on the game without a clear focus and a group of people to endure it with. There's no real MMO competition aspect imo, because everybody experiences the same quest-line/side quests eventually--they are a necessity to help you grind out your levels and to progress on the world map.
I hope you guys have fun with the game anyway, i'm just somebody who found it a rough and inevitably uneventful experience.

reminds me of diablo 3
except in this game you can jump down a cliff and kill yourself

Thanks nanaoei, I was wondering if it was like RO1... but those differences you have pointed out... No, sorry. I like playing alone. I like hunting Hydras. I liked the graphics. I won't be getting into this. I should get RO1 running again, there's one polish server still around...

No problem. everyone loved that, it was such a unique experience where your character, the environment, and the things you hunted all meshed together and made it memorable no matter how repetitive it became. Something about seeing everyone on the server in the same rooms and the same areas (often camping and just chatting it out) was encouraging for each other player out there that was passing by.

So basically this game isn't worth it?
That's a disappointment

anyone here able to stream with OBS? ive had no luck doing that.

I'm liking it so far to be honest, having more fun than in Neverwinter.

its free so anyone with RO1 nostalgia can try it out. culvert is around lvl 10ish which takes maybe 2 hours to reach. to echo what everyone said though it really is just a wow clone with anime graphics. maybe one out of every 20 quests isn't kill X number of Y mob for Z drop. cards seem to only give stats so no more -30% from demi human etc. havent run into any mobs with unique properties/elements and they all seem to have the same # of hp for their lvl.

It's really nostalgic (coming from a long time RO1 player since beta) some of the stuff is kinda funky, but I've been enjoying it so far
