I don't use Charm Animal often as a ranger and would I lose my Cleric Spells if I was a Fallen Ranger? yes you do. and I am at the end of ToB by the way and at the 2 reset. Any tips how to fight her there? which fight are you refering to? the final battle against amelyssan? that is a tough one for sure. one way to do it is to have one of your mages cast wish (9th level spell) and wish for a full nights rest each time after youve cleared one of the pockets.

I mean the final final fight in BG2 and I don't got Wish as I could never find that schrol or heard of it till now :| Edit: Looks like I might just do Watchers Keep before doing the Final Final Fight for the end of ToB

Watchers keep is great , some of the best items in the game to find there Well I will need levels for the fight so might as well do watchers keep for the spell and to get possiblely some good items to use :O

Imported the save... and yiha. gained a lot of XP on top of the 161k bg1:totsc limit for some reason. When i freed Minsk, he was synced to my level for some reason, with a WHOOPING 800k xp to his name. GO FOR THE EYES. BOO! Now im in the Copper Coronet and though I have barely even done anything yet, I'm still so happy to be back in BG2. Recruited the first couple of characters coming my way (Aerie, Nalia, Anomen), so i now have primary spellcasters in the party, + Minsk who can already cast 2/2. There's so many more options than i ever get in my BG1 play. Anyone have tips on how to build a more fun BG1 party? I feel like all the characters on offer are equally weak and meh, so I usually get stuck with Imoen, Jaheira+Khalid and Minks+Dynaheir... and if i make a swap, its always Viconia replacing Imoen, so i don't kill anyone *morale high ground* xD Also: game's much more fun since i started actually using all the consumables looted. Cloud Giant Strength is fun.

SCS mod makes Tiax available in Beregost, and his banter is amusing and his summon is useful early on. I did a run where I consoled in Alora at 5k xp (she starts with 5k) and used her as my archer/thief, simply before of her banter (and luck charm!). You can rush to Faldorn if you have not used her before, although her combat is weak she has a good summon and insect swarm, as well as level 5 spells. Also, Sharteel dualled to thief and specialised for backstabbing is fun (all her points in stealth, potions of invis). Xzar and month are amusing, and with a wis tome (or shadowkeeper) Xzar can even dual to cleric. I recommend trying: Alora, Sharteel (thief dual), Faldorn, Edwin and Dorn. You could also just use pairs that have a chance of killing eachother, if you don't mind finding replacement members. Sharteel + Eldoth can be good, Kivan + Viconia, etc.

If you want a more "fun party" I assume you are not after banters? The BG1NPC mod is great otherwise, makes the playthroughs so much more diverse. If you just want diff gameplay I say go with the idea that you and imoen roamed around Candlekeep stealing cakes all youth and rock a stealth party with everything from dual Shar-teel to your pc being Thief. Personally I enjoy removing XP cap and playing with caster groups a la BG2 in BG1 with insane difficulty and added monsters.

Cloud Giant Strength is fun. Use Kivan, the best and most bad-ass character in BG1. If you have the original BG2 and BGTutu, you can modify the characters with mods. I always change the classes of a few of the NPC's when I'm playing. And don't write a character off just because they're bad. The party doesn't have to be perfect. Neither does the main character. I don't get ppl who make main characters with 18/18/18 stats. I typically roll until my total score is better than Imoen's, and then I move the individual rolls around, based on how I value the stats, and lastly I make 2-3 additions/subtractions, like for instance I could buff up my top two stats 17/16 to 18/17, by sacrificing one of the lower stats from 13 to 11. My current main character have 17/18/16, and that was a good roll. Typically I get between 16-17 avg on my top 3 stats. I also have a Transmuter specialist and a Beastmaster on this playthrough. If you're just playing for fun, there's no reason to go for perfection.

also who knows, money for the EEs might show some big money company that there is still love for BG well wasted pretty much my entire week with it. game is still so fucking amazing. also now that i actually get the rules opposed to my childme that had zero clue of em its even better. plus enjoy eng version over ger one. dont we have some really rich kid here that wants to invest in a game like that? i mean there are tons of great artists and writers out there that could do the important stuff, get a engine fit for a iso style game and license pathfinder ruleset from paizo (cause 4+ edition d&d is baaad for what we want).

I got the BG2:EE last week and since then I am totally captured by the amazing game. Even though I don't really enjoy the new NPC's, I totally love the EE. It makes things a lot easier, stacking arrow, nice touch to the interface,... . I am loving it!
