Currently, against R/G Monsters I take out 4 Voice, 1 Brimaz, 1 Soldier, 1 Precinct Captain and bring in 3 Unflinching Courage, 3 Celestial Flares, and 1 Banisher Priest. I think putting in Plummet would lower my creature count too much...unless I don't side in Unflinching Courage or take out Ajani. But Ajani is my only reach versus the deck, and Unflinching Courage lets me get an explosive start (turn 2 fleecemane, turn 3 courage) or I need it to get through Courser of Kruphix...although I guess since Jund Monsters is a thing, Unflinching Courage might be bad with their removal.
I wouldn't bring it in versus Demon since Mono Black usually sides some out, I have Selesnya Charm, and it is just a very easy card for me to play around.
I don't know, I don't play decks like that so you'll have to decide. Its your most efficient answer next to Arbor Colossus at a distant second.

i've been toying with splashing red for Mizzium Mortars to deal with Stormbreath and Blood Baron more reliably. This is the list I came up with
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/naya-aggro-10-03-14-2/
The red gives me Mizzium Mortars for Dragon and Baron, but I also throw in Boros Charm and Boros Reckoner. The Boros Charm gives me a different angle of attack, and with all of the duals, Boros Reckoner isn't hard to cast. I cut 2 Loxodons, Banisher Priest, 1 Selesnya Charm, Advent of the Wurm, and, most importantly, 1 land for these cards. The sideboard gets a lot better since I can cut Celestial Flare and Last Breath from the board...two very non ideal cards.
From goldfishing a few times, the mana is pretty consistent because I made sure to keep the same number of white and green sources that my current W/G deck has.
At first I thought taking too much damage from shocks would be an issue, but I only need 3 lands to get going.

Rip tinkmaster Wait wrong thread
I think plummet is fine, certainly would rather have my green opponents spend their entire turn tapping out for some pro-blue dude instead of killing my nightveil that is singlehandedly driving my double gods into the red zone.

That's pointless....you are watering down your deck...you can't be tripping on your mana or colors in that deck. There's no point to Red if you want removal, just play Black and actually improve your other match ups or play things like Brave the Elements to just get through the last few points of damage. Turn 5 is the key turn? Then post-board streamline it to where you are playing for that turn 5 kill.
You don't tweak decks like that.

I'll just play Judge's Familiar. Its like Obzadat right? /s
The lists look like Obz is pretty nessisary. I feel without more one drops and less lands you aren't going to end the game as quickly like in BW. We'll see what happens. I have everything for those decks except the UB Shocks (which i could make the UB temples?) and Obz and Whip.
|
if you make the shocks temples, you slow your deck down.

It's really more midrange-y with the possibility of aggressive openings. It's pretty much the evolution of the BW deck that Rietzl/Chapin played in Dublin, rather than the ChannelFireball Orzhov WW from GP Dallas. The original pre-BNG version (from a Japanese GP) played Necromancer and fewer Obzedats and could do goofy stuff like wrath away blockers with 2x Necromancer in play and like double their power to threaten kills out of nowhere, kinda like a slower Boros Reckoner + Blasphemous Act type kill. Not a huge fan of playing Supreme Verdict in a creature-heavy deck but it was cool at that GP. The Mihara version with Heliod and such is sweet, though I'm not convinced Heliod is necessary.
There's some versions with Deputy of Acquittals which I'm not too sold on, though I may have played Deputy as Restoration Angel 5-6 at one point last format...
I'm sure the deck can be skewed towards aggression if you want. Ajani -2 on Ephara...

I think at this point I'm droping the Obz, from this list for Necros, dropping ajanis and some number of braves for Dsphere (this one is more loose). I'll test what I have and hopefully get to show up on Friday. Work/Matsuri Depending.
|
Dsphere too reactive in that deck isn't it?
|
Not really, it's a removal spell for their blocker with some side benefits like killing planeswalkers and adding devotion.
|
In testing I like them better than the Necro's tbh. But I was only playing against GR monsters. Brave might have to stay at 4, but I'm not sure yet. I'll have a better list tomorrow if I can get to FNM. I also think 4 mutavault might be too many since I'm running only 22 lands right now.

Risen does make this thread more interesting than it would be otherwise.

I cant find a thread for regular pen, paper and cardboard magic, so I apologize if this is the wrong thread.
Is anyone going to GP cincinnati tomorrow? Im probably gonna go, but im not sure what I wanna play/will have the cards for, I'll be borrowing a lot of the cards for whatever deck I can play from my old WoWTCG team (They play MTG again, now.) and I will probably be playing either Esper Control or Selesnya Aggro.

yeah this is the "all things magic" thread.

I wish I had a Standard deck so I could have competed, but more so I wish I had a car with a fully functional exhaust so I could participate in Modern side events.
I wish you the best of luck!
