Even doing it for 1 isn't the worst as you can still use the mana. You can "Effectivly" build your own manamorphose with that card. 2/2's are easy to kill though. Might not be a bad way to abuse with Nykthos.

I knew there was an enchantress coming. Also the new 1 mana Merfolk might be better maindeck than Cursecatcher in Modern given the ubiquity of creature decks and need to draw out of flood/screw which is pretty much the only way you lose.

I started Magic a year ago and got crazy addicted and played til about July then got to busy with work to play. Now I am thinking about coming back with a more balanced approach(playing 1 time a week as opposed to 3-4 a week). I have missed M14, Theros, and Born of Gods so 3 sets which is pretty brutal. I was inspired to come back after seeing decks like mono-black resurface. That and Bant control were my two favorite decks when I was playing during dragons maze. Anyways, I wanted to get a feel from some people on here of what the meta is like now a days, I really dont plan on going all out and dropping $500, I am going to sell some of the old set stuff and try a mono-black or green or maybe some home brews out. What is standard like now a days? Is it still aggro crazy, or does control have better footing?

You think this will be played in some sort of UWR control build? edit: I'm new to the scene, but would an equipment like this be good in an aggro deck or is it too slow? Is it good enough to run more than 1 copy?

EDIT: To be clear this is about Keranos, not Godsend.

Sure, it helps in creature v creature matchups where your opp doesn't have removal, but that's 6 mana devoted at sorcery speed onto a single creature. We'll see, but I'm underwhelmed.

Godsend also doesn't let you force through token chump blocks.

And if you really need a Sword that deals with TNN I also don't see how it's better than Sword of Fire and Ice which can also ping things and draw cards while also being relevant in other matchups too. Having 1 more in equip costs also hurts. Maybe you can play one in the Board but I don't see it being the TNN killer. SoFI does much the same thing, the difference with Godsend is can prevent them from playing another if they do chump with it. Plus it gains you more life when combined with Batterskull.

I mean I see this argument all the time, but +3/+3 is a 5 turn clock (less because fetches) on its own when stuck on a Stoneforge. On a Batterskull it's 3 and +7 life a turn if you don't block with TNN to prevent the damage. Any sideboard hatebears are 4 turn clocks by themselves. I mean if you're blocking with delvers and mongeese or goyfs, you can't play any more of those that you draw, they're now dead. SoFI doesn't get you through a big goyf. I mean if they T3 true name and you T4 a godsend on a stoneforge, you're winning that race.

He has to have seen it, it's in the quote and I did it immediately :O I'm currently looking at ways to see if I can't bring in the UR god to my cruel control list. Tapping out on T5 for something that doesn't immediately impact the board is rough. I think I'd need to bring in a slaughter pact and pact of negation.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtBuue4ZU_pmdGt4aDNvbTctRzRSdUtYZmJnUlRZa2c#gid=0 has a bunch of decks that are very infrequently updated from the TL mtg skype group. Question: Is shadow of doubt still worth it over squelch? I haven't seen scapeshift in a while.
