My money is on allied fetches... Like everybody I guess ?
Allied fetches are likely the case but hopefully not. I really don't want fetch lands to come back to standard.
They're going have to, Modern is impossible to get into right now and Legacy is like super touchy for collectors. Wizards could fix this to some limited extent or at least stave some of it off if they released a not shitty MtGO client, but hey I have friends with legacy decks so whatever.

I'd be fine with printing them in some kind of "Legacy Masters" run or something like that. I just really don't like fetch lands in standard. Makes the "buy in" for a format that is supposed to be low in cost too high IMO.

I dunno, greedy 3 color decks can still get by on temples and M10 lands without fetches, and the Ravnica lands got more than halved in price since being reprinted in standard, so fetches shouldn't really be out of the question.
That said, it's a Steppe Nomad set, Horsemanship and Flanking.

I don't see how fetches would be bad in standard. You would only be able to fetch basics, it's nearly strictly worst than Ravlands... And they'd be cheap if in a large and drafted set.

I don't think it'll be too bad. 8 fetches at the hypothetical reprint price of $30 (imo they could go down as low as $20) would be $240. That would put standard decks ~$500 which is not uncommon for past standard decks. This current standard season has also been one of the least expensive seasons in a long time.
Fetches would likely go up in price due to demand increasing faster than supply, though eventually they could end up cheaper. Also pretty sure wotc hates shuffling and would like to avoid fetches in standard if they could avoid it.

Look at the thoughtseize price trajectory... I can only see it go up in the very first week of release.

Misleading, Thoughtseize is no where the staple that are fetches.

Nathan Holt is pretty cool. His Walking the Planes series is really good.
On the topic of Fetch Lands, I really want them reprinted. Ally or Enemy coloured is fine (Both > Allied > Enemy). While the potential for price spikes is a thing, at the same time these aren't cards on the reserved list. With enemy fetches already in Modern, Allied fetches would make deck building much smoother too since only having enemy colour does make things fairly restrictive.

As a legacy player, I am scared of what would happen to my Windswept Heaths if Modern gets its grubby price hiking hands on them...
I'd be forced to sell them and play other decks! The horror! The humanity! The $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

And instead you can pick up the Blue Fetches and play Legacy the way it was meant to be played.
